On the subject of the Weird Al song... awesome. Pure, unadulterated, awesome. This new album is actually looking to be good, what with him releasing this AND "Don't Download This Song." Here's hoping it's not gonna be another Poodle Hat.
EDIT: Side note, rap like this has been done for years, yes, but the earliest MAJOR OMG HUGE rap like this that was done, AFAIK, was All About the Pentiums, also by weird al. - andy101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I post this, forget about it, check it today, & it's at 2700 diggs. Cool.
- brian3ps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A Weird Al masterpiece. ROTFLOL indeed!

- tlmac59, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Fantastic! I needed a good laugh.
- bob_the_alien, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I agree
- Pburgdwller, on 10/12/2007, -3/+45There are 3 or 4 lines in that song that I can relate to myself.
- Dunadan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+47Just 3 or 4? Now I really feel white & nerdy...
- texpundit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32Sadly, I can admit to over half the song. *falls over*
- jtjenn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10MC Escher is my favorite artist.
- idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2MC Hawking for teh robot.
- cousinsteve, on 10/12/2007, -18/+8ok this song describes all of you sad people thats sit in front of a computer all day..., and then you brag about it? Why don't you all go outside right now and spend maybe 5 minutes out there, if you can handle that without running back inside to check the weather on your computer, then try for about 10 minutes. It feel soooo much better to be outside, than sitting in front of youtube and digg all day, wasting valuable minutes that you will never ever get back, if fact while you are reading this, you are probably going to loose at least another 2 minutes that could have been used to relax outside, or learn a new skill, or bodybuild, etc..., maybe something that can be used in the real life. A couple of years from now you arn't going to say, "Hey, wasn't that a great way to spend my most youthful years, sitting infront of a screen, loosing color pigments, and gaining the pounds while reading about a cult of a fictitious Star Wars universe." You won't care about that, wouldn't it be better to look back about how many girls you got, or awesome grades that you got, which got you into an awesome college, so you could become a spinal surgeon and make millions of dollars, or something like that, but instead you traded it for some guy lighting his farts on fire that you saw on youtube? I mean good god, some guy listened to the song and wrote out all of the lyrics, a waste of time maybe? Another guy that posted earlier was bragging about how he had memorized all of the Holy Grail, Why? And latter on the same guy mentions a "huge flaw" in the original video, about them mentioning a ps2 controller, but holding and xbox one instead. Do you have any idea of how, i don't want to use the word, nerdy you sound? You guys can digg me down all you want, i really don't care that much about that. besides that, Werid Al is awesome, its just that all he has been doing recently is rap, which he can't do, here is a qoute from an earlier post "he raps better than most of the other rapper out he sould make a video immideately", apart from you not being able to spell basic english, he can't rap! The people in the studios make it sound good, i've been to a few of his concerts, and he dosn't sound good doing live rap. By the way, he wanted to make a video of his last rap song, but m&m said NO, plus he has been making videos since he started, he has over 20, and a movie, and he used to have a t.v. series. He used to be awesome, but now he is killing who he used to be by doing parodies of lame-ass music. I agree with john2kx by saying his older music is "before your time", so you probably don't know what you are talking about anyways. I went to college with him as he was just starting out, thats when he did some awesome songs like "another one rides the bus", and "lasagna", which is music i can stand, how can you say this is his best when you have barely scrached the surface of his music, he has put out sooo many albums that you have probably never heard of. I really don't care that i have wasted a good five minutes writing this, just as long as a few people can read this before it gets dugg to the depths of digg. Just my opinion, and i'm glad i have it.
- bob_the_alien, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@ cousinsteve
I dugg you up on this cousinsteve, because, it is your opinion I'll give you that, so even though I don't like it, I'm not going to disregard it. The fact is, I liked this song, and I have many of Weird Al's past albums, and while I've never been to a concert of his, I cannot say whether he can rap for real or not. I consider this song quite good. Although I've never actually heard the song he's making a parody of, but oh well.
Also, I do not believe that the majority of digg users are anything like what you have written in you comment. If I had to put myself in a category, I'd say I'm a nerd as well, however, I have a very beautiful girlfriend (who is about as nerdy as I am) I have graduated college with 2 different degree's, and I own a business. but I've also spent the the last 3 hours of this fine Sunday morning digging through digg, reading comments, posting comments, and watching YouTube videos. As far as other diggers out there, I can't speak for them, but I'd say their are more like me, than the mental image you have portrayed of them.
Also on a side note, the PS2 while showing an X-Box controller situation, I'd like to comment on, it's not the fact that it's just a nerdy thing to notice, it's showing that they screwed up, and professionals should give their audiences more credit, and make the small things correct, it's about making believable situations, and if your trying to draw an audience in, and then you screw up something like that, I mean, come on more money in a year is generated by video games then movies, a good majority of your audience would recognize a screw up like that.
Like I said, I dugg you up, but we have a difference of opinion when it comes to this. - cousinsteve, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1congratulations on reading my whole comment bob_the_alien, that was actually me just rambleing on at 11:00 pm, not really a point to it. Well, yay for long posts.
- PandaPounce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey now CS, many nerds spend LOTS of time outside! Didn't you catch the line about Ren Faire? And what about LARPS? Just last week I went to fighter practice for NERO. And that's not even counting time hanging out in the backyard making the padded weapons! I mean, really, how many non-boyscouts do you know that go camp at boy scout camps every other month and spend the whole weekend running through the forest and hiding in the underbrush and hitting each other with plumbing supplies? Okay, disregard the plumbing supplies.
In other news, just because I was in elementary school when Weird Al made it doesn't mean I didn't listen to him back then. Another One Rides The Bus is but one of the Weird Al mp3s on this machine. Just because he used to be awesome doesn't mean he's stopped. - Mirag3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1CS, are you high? The geeks are the ones making millions of dollars and founding corporations, not your "role models". "Look back and see your awesome grades..." - do i really have to go into this one? The geeks ARE the ones with the awesome grades, etc. Just because your modus operandi involves failing every other test because you decided that actually doing your homework was too "nerdy", don't blame it on us who, although we have certain hobbies, are generally well rounded people. Take your flames elsewhere.
P.S. It was hilarious, I almost fell off my chair.

- daurkin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I've picked up all of his items. I find him very talented by the way he can parody almost any style of music.
- SqueakyWheel, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I thought that the first line "mowing the lawn" stupid the segway thing was much better
- JTMON, on 10/12/2007, -1/+222Thanks for this!!! Too funny. Hey, what's he saying about my fanny pack damnit.
Here u goes guys:
White & Nerdy
------------
Parody of "Ridin'" by Chamillionaire
New lyrics by Al Yankovic
They see me mowin'
My front lawn
I know they're all thinking I'm so white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Can't you see I'm white and nerdy?
Look at me, I'm white and nerdy
I wanna roll with
The gangstas
But so far they all think I'm too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
I'm just too white and nerdy.
Really really white and nerdy.
First in my class here at MIT
Got skills, I'm a champion at D&D
MC Escher - that's my favorite MC
Keep your 40, I'll just have an Earl Grey tea
My rims never spin, to the contrary
You'll find that they're quite stationary
All of my action figures are cherry
Steven Hawking's in my library
My MySpace page is all totally pimped out
Got people beggin' for my top eight spaces
Yo, I know pi to a thousand places
Ain't got no grills but I still wear braces
I order all of my sandwiches with mayonnaise
I'm a whiz at Minesweeper - I could play for days
Once you see my sweet moves you're gonna stay amazed
My fingers' movin' so fast I'll set the place ablaze
There's no killer app I haven't run
At Pascal, well I'm number one
Do vector calculus just for fun
I ain't got a gat but I got a soldering gun
Happy Days is my favorite theme song
I could sure kick your butt in a game of ping pong
I'll ace any trivia quiz you bring on
I'm fluent in JavaScript as well as Klingon
They see me roll on
My Segway
I know in my heart they think I'm white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Can't you see I'm white and nerdy
Look at me, I'm white and nerdy
I'd like to roll with
The gangstas
Although it's apparent I'm too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
I'm just too white and nerdy
How'd I get so white and nerdy
I've been browsin', inspectin'
X-Men comics, you know I collect 'em
The pens in my pocket, I must protect 'em
My ergonomic keyboard never leaves me bored
Shopping online for deals on some writable media
I edit Wikipedia
I memorized Holy Grail really well
I can recite it right now and have you ROTFLOL
I got a business doing websites
When my friends need some code, who do they call?
I do HTML for 'em all
Even made a homepage for my dog
Yo, I got myself a fanny pack
They were havin' a sale down at The Gap
Spend my nights with a roll of bubble wrap
Pop, pop, hope no one sees me
Gettin' freaky
I'm nerdy in the extreme
And whiter than sour cream
I was in AV Club and Glee Club and even the Chess Team
Only question I
Ever thought was hard
Was do I like Kirk
Or do I like Picard
Spend every weekend at the Renaissance Fair
Got my name on my underwear
They see me strollin'
They laughin'
And rollin' their eyes 'cause I'm so white and nerdy
Just because I'm white and nerdy
Just because I'm white and nerdy
All because I'm white and nerdy
Holy cow, I'm white and nerdy
I wanna bowl with
The gangstas
But, oh well, it's obvious I'm white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
I'm just too white and nerdy
Look at me, I'm white and nerdy- bightchee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+46I'm laughing all over again just reading the words.

correct... the "pirate" part is from a TV show called LazyTown on Nick/NickJr...
btw: there is NO REASON on God's green earth why i should know that

Quick, digg this down before the music industry starts to bring down Digg!
:P- SuckMyDigg, on 10/12/2007, -26/+7If there was a single artist out there I would give my money to it's Weird Al. In fact I did, I donated money to get him a star in Hollywood... but I've never boughten a music CD in my life.
- senseigmg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31I've never "boughten" anything either
- bmobile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10senseigmg: thank you for pointing that out. i *HATE* when people use that word.
on topic...this is probably Weird Al's second best song ever (right behind "Amish Paradise"). this cd will be mine on release day! - node3, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6"Boughten" is a common word used in the northern part of the US. While I can't say to what level of "properness" it's accepted as, it is common enough to be included in dictionaries as an actual word.
- sjalt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6in nor cal, its hella a word.
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I have heard 3 songs from his album so far, it seems great! much better then his last! (Pitiful, White And Nerdy, And Don't download this song)
- shtonkalot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22You're Pitiful is not on the album.
James Blunt had no problem with it but his record company did. That song and "Don't download this song" are free and legally available to download from his website: http://www.weirdal.com/home.htm - Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh thats too bad, well at least he released it for everone to hear, it made me laugh. Is "Don't Download This Song" on the album?
- shtonkalot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes it is, too good an oportunity for publicity to not let it be downloaded though!

Now shut up and listen to "Hardware Store" from Poodle Hat, and then find me another song that sounds similar. - slicedoranges, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Only some of his songs are parodies...a lot are originals. He makes parodies because that's what got him famous. Why fix what's not broken?

- web.phreak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Probably... think of the age range.
However, it's been top ten for weeks... you can't turn the dial without hearing part of it. - ScionX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6yes
- smacg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7The first time I heard the original Chamillionaire song was when my nine year old daughter was singing it. Yay!
- PandaPounce, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Nope, I'm 24 and listen to the radio all the time, yet this is the first time I've heard of Chamillionaire or the song... maybe that's because the station I listen to most plays things like It's Raining Men and Ghostbusters. Personally, I don't feel like I'm losing here.
- web.phreak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Probably... think of the age range.
- lolage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Holy..ROTFLOL'ing hell. I havent listened to him in ages, turns out he's got better. Dugg for unholy greatness.
- CaptainWow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Awww man! I can't get to it from work :(
- ScionX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2lol, quit downloading it people. It's making me timeout.

- jgoodstein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you can also download weird Al's songs from http://www.dontdownloadthissong.com
- ScionX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's only dont download this song though. It keeps getting to about 51% then brings up an error about disconnecting for me. It downloaded the dont download this song one fine though.
- Xcaliburmyght, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Right... great.. another album and I don't know the name...
- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Straight Outta Lynwood
- z0iid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3you guys also forgot "Amish Paradise" (probably the first WAY song most of you heard)
- Surefoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I don't think this is a legal download. He's only released "You're Pitiful" and "Don't Download This Song" for free downloads.
But I listened to it, anyway. And right after I pre-ordered the CD. (I was going to do it anyway, I got all his stuff).
I think everyone else should too. If sales shoot up today, it'll send a signal to the powers that be that stuff like this can lead to more sales, not lost sales.
So go here http://www.weirdal.com/sol.htm and pre-order. And Al, if you're looking at this, check your sales on and after 9/8/06 and let us know what happened.- web.phreak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Done...
- web.phreak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Done...
- K4P741NxKRUNCH, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Great, I just played this in my computer class and the teacher was rolling :p
- honestmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -23/+0Dugg down because:
It's damn easy to parody rap, since rap music is already a parody of regular music.
Weird Al has already done a bunch of rap parody songs, this one is no better than any of them.
The original song is nothing special, the original singer is nothing special, so why was this even made fun of?
Sorry, Al is good, this is not. - jakbrud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Good to see someone linking to the actual file and/or topic instead of another useless blog.
- ant9821, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh man, thats just what I needed to start my day.
- FyberOptic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4lol what a coincidence, I just heard a parody of the original yesterday with http://vaderridindirty.ytmnd.com/ , and now this. Hats off to Weird Al, as usual!
