- ross., on 07/07/2008, -5/+58Ummm..about 13 years late aren't we.
- theopye, on 07/07/2008, -2/+50This video is actually on Windows 95 discs; I watched it a ton, back in the day. I'm not sure if it's on a particular version of 95.
- jstohler, on 07/08/2008, -2/+24I love the video, but WTF? Are we going to start digging Deep Blue Something videos next?
- artap99, on 07/08/2008, -1/+23Seriously?
- inactive, on 07/08/2008, -2/+20No, really...seriously?
- kevman459, on 07/08/2008, -3/+15Wow great video. These Weezer kids are gonna take off, just you wait. The name could be better though.
- Owwmykneecap, on 07/08/2008, -2/+13You are ***** me...
I love Weezer, I love The blue album but this is a ***** joke
stop mindlessly digging Badwithcomputers every submission
Pure evidence digg is broken.
Remove friends and fans to sort this mess out.
Edit: You know what here is a NEW weezer thing to look at, pork and beans done by an 80 piece orchestra
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5CQ20Nx3MM - agdtinman, on 07/08/2008, -2/+11I think this band just might make it, if they get enough YouTube comments, and maybe up their Myspace friend count.
- SpectreFire, on 07/08/2008, -0/+8Guys! OJ SIMPSON'S NOT GUILTY!
- jenel, on 07/08/2008, -0/+8"This video is not available in your country."
*shakes fist* - alevel27mage, on 07/08/2008, -0/+8It also came with "Hover!", the best game ever created.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hover! - vinceislegend, on 07/08/2008, -0/+8Brb. Gonna submit some MC Hammer vids.
- alexpigment, on 07/08/2008, -6/+13UHHH...newsworthy? no... obscure? no... cool? i guess so... umm? SERIOUSLY WTF? it's a weezer video from about 12 years ago that everyone here has seen lots of times. this is not news (especially front page news) to anyone. p.s. weezer hasn't made a good song since "my name is jonas" and i'm tired of them promoting the new album like it's hot *****
- thatsmyaibo, on 07/08/2008, -0/+7Leave it to one of the 'top digg users' to post a video that is over a decade old and make it to the front page. I love Weezer but this just goes to show what a popularity contest Digg is now.
- subigo, on 07/08/2008, -1/+7Everyday I grow closer to leaving Digg.
- melonade, on 07/08/2008, -1/+6So can I just start posting really really old youtube videos now? That seems to be the trend for today.
- Jpardue, on 07/08/2008, -1/+5dugg for a video without a rick roll!
but shouldn't this be listed here?
http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/379/diggor7.jpg - zdiddy85, on 07/07/2008, -5/+9Dugg for Weezer AND Happy Days. This was the first time I'd heard of them back in the day when it came on my Windows disk.
- PinkChicken, on 07/08/2008, -0/+4Yay, Kevin Rose built me a time machine.
- quomen, on 07/08/2008, -0/+3This video is classic. Timeless. Awesome.
- alexpigment, on 07/08/2008, -1/+4you only like that new weezer song because you recognize people in the video (i.e. you're a ***** nerd). the song is horrible. ***** you for knowing about music only when there's a tay zonday reference and ***** you more for linking to the same ***** video as the digg post
- apextek, on 07/08/2008, -0/+3dont know why you guy are burying this guys comment, hes right. This video predates the modern internet. I was a teen when this came out, im now in my 30's. This is what diggers see as front page news now?
- viacombusta, on 07/07/2008, -6/+9Late or not, Spike Jonze is one of the most innovative directors around.
Best $10 I ever spent:
http://www.palmpictures.com/film/the-work-of-direc ... - apextek, on 07/08/2008, -0/+3this made it to the top of the front page? I saw this on MTV way back when they played videos and people thought the internet was something that went in your swimming shorts.
Someone tell me where the new digg.com is because this one is becoming dumber by the second.
I check slashdot but there are so many fewer articles... - blahtastic, on 07/08/2008, -1/+4And I said, "What about 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'"?
She said, "I think I remember the film."
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it.
And I said, "Well, thats the one thing we've got."
That's going to be stuck in my head for a couple days now. Lovely. - LemonDefragger, on 07/08/2008, -1/+4I was gonna go WTF this is old, but this reminded me how much I love this song. Dugg
(I bet that the digg recommendation system has something to do with this) - Murrabbit, on 07/08/2008, -0/+3Ah the good old days, back when bands actually welcomed wide-spread digital distribution of their songs.
- quomen, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2No, everyone that dugg this is joking.
JOKE DAY TODAY, JULY 8th! - araza13, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2"Take a nostalgic look back at Weezer's breakthrough single."
Nostalgia implies it is old already dont you think?
And its an awesome video, reminds me of days after school watching repeats....... - bob_the_alien, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2now back then you had tons of real media files, back when real player was actually something ppl would use, I'm actually not sad to say, that I owned a legit full copy of real player from back then, and i spent many glorious hours searching IRC channels for anime.
I think I watched pretty much every fansubbed episode of DBZ in real media files, ahh those were the days, endless hours of downloading, and then squinting to all ends to see this really small txt on these really small videos, but in 90a is was all ya got, and I was happy with it. - aussiessuck, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Back when you'd actually look for real media because your pc could play it back without skipping...
...and South Park season one episodes were 30MB so you could download them on dialup. - sap959, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2what? what!... WHAT!
- aussiessuck, on 07/08/2008, -2/+4It was about the only video you could play on those old P100 boxes - other than the 10 second sky diving video that was with the included xing screen saver.
- chrisvc86, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Yep, remember it coming with my family's IBM Aptiva Windows 95 PC. Actually had no idea who Weezer was at the time.
- thatsmyaibo, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Nobody is stopping you from watching this. You know it exists and you know where to find it. Why should it be on Digg's front page?
- zarand, on 07/08/2008, -1/+3Wow...this one brings back memories...of Windows 95. Anyone remember that hovercraft game?
- cheifchuck0, on 07/08/2008, -1/+3Really?
- CarStan, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Seems like with the new Rec-engine badwithcomputer has become the new Mrbabyman
- Murrabbit, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Oh and also, just because we know it's coming and hasn't been said yet:
***** THE RIAA! - waydee, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Same, was probably the first video of decent quality that I watched on a PC and now the song will forever make me think of Windows 95
- Donthaveone, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Dugg for good memories.
- ross., on 07/08/2008, -0/+2I love this song and video too, bit Digg isn't the place for it. Its not VH1.
- Futurejunior, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2No, seriously...really?
- Vich, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2lol @ your name aussiessuck, I see you're a new zealander; as an australian I can understand. The rivalry between us is similar to that of america and canada.
To the point though, I also recall that video on windows 95 and watching this again rekindled those memories and also made me say "OH THAT WAS WEEZER!" - speakafreaka, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Ive got the set.. the Gondry one is my favorite
- Jpardue, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2The video plays great with my Pentium II MMX 166 Mhz with 16MB, a 4x CD-ROM, 16MB DirectX 3 video card, 16 bit Sound Blaster Full tower with removable tape drive backup!!!
- afwjam, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2guess you missed pinkerton ***** nut
- Owwmykneecap, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1http://digg.com/comedy/Weezer_prove_digg_is_Crazy
Well at this stage, why not eh? - JDFrancis, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1I'll bet it played great on that. You must have been rich when Windows 95 came out, because I was sporting a 486 33SX with 8GB and it was pretty rad at the time. But I did have the 32 bit Sound Blaster.
Quit bragging about your awesome 1995 PC to all of us who were slumming it. Weezer was still awesome even for the low-rent tools such as myself. -
