- ChronicColonic, on 02/09/2009, -25/+284I wonder if Coldplay will be will be sharing the Grammy with Joe Satriani?
- jonvictorino, on 02/09/2009, -13/+119This is a big win for Joe Satriani! Congratulations, Joe!
- Pxtl, on 02/09/2009, -3/+101Bellhop: That'll be $40 Mr. Simpson.
Homer: (Checking pockets, finds no money, hands over Grammy award) Here.
Bellhop: Wow, an award statue! ....Aww, it's a Grammy (Tosses Grammy over balcony)
Man Below: Hey, don't throw your trash down here!
does anybody care? Seriously? - inactive, on 02/09/2009, -27/+114Know how I know YOU'RE gay?
- TheBlackOasis, on 02/09/2009, -47/+131I hate Coldplay.
- bytor4232, on 02/09/2009, -19/+102How to Win a Grammy:
1. Find a kick ass song
2. Change the words, add a few instruments
3. .....
4. Profit - marcduke, on 02/09/2009, -2/+71And winning a Grammy continues to mean absolutely nothing....
- systemstheory88, on 02/09/2009, -24/+72Not a bad song. Still think several songs off of Radiohead's In Rainbows are better.
- ChronicColonic, on 02/09/2009, -5/+49The songs do sound very similar...I am not saying Joe is right, but if you listen to Joe's song, you can sing the Viva La Vida words right along with it.
- rwood757, on 02/09/2009, -15/+59Fake Plastic Radiohead
- CaptainRotundo, on 02/09/2009, -20/+60Coldplay is to Rock Music what Kenny G is to Jazz.
- drunkenoaf, on 02/09/2009, -4/+40You listen to Coldplay.
- StewMeat, on 02/09/2009, -17/+48coldplay sucks dong.
- rockrapdude, on 02/09/2009, -1/+31Better watch this: 36 songs with 4 accords http://www.aegmaha.com/videos/12165
- jfts09, on 02/09/2009, -11/+36Copyright laws cover melody and or lyrics. There is no doubt that the melody is a blatant rip off.
Im very disappointing with the Grammys - OwdenBowden, on 02/09/2009, -8/+32Do you know how I know you're Gay?
- eastwood24, on 02/09/2009, -3/+24This was the first time I watched the Grammy's in years, and realized how out of touch I am with 'pop' music (and thats a good thing).
- diggopolous, on 02/09/2009, -7/+28I smell a rat. CBS features Coldplay on 60 Minutes along with the long awaited Captain Sully interview and guess which network is hosting the Grammies afterwards and guess which band wins.
- Xodius, on 02/09/2009, -1/+20Buried for being grammy related.
A quote from a Henry Rollins interview about his Grammy:
Q: Where do you keep your Grammy?
A: I gave it away. I didn't want it. I don't want any trophies for art. I gave it to a friend of mine who had a fireplace. I said, "That Grammy will look really good on your mantelpiece." I saw it there a few months ago and it's all tarnished because it's not been touched for like nine or 10 years, whenever I got it. That stuff means nothing to me. It's nice that your peers - if that's what they are - or other entertainment types voted for you. Back then I got a nice fax from Rob Halford of Judas Priest that said, "I'm voting for you, man." I kept the fax but didn't keep the Grammy. I'm way more into a fax from Rob Halford than this thing they hand out to Sheryl Crow. - topgigmedia, on 02/09/2009, -3/+21Try layering the songs on top of one another... still not convinced?
I cannot believe they won Song of the Year. I may be biased, but ANY one of the songs on Radiohead's 'In Rainbows' is certainly more innovative and worthy of Song of the Year honor.
I also loved how Chris Martin's wife introduced Radiohead as the most innovative and best bend in the world (paraphrasing). - inactive, on 02/09/2009, -6/+24I like Colplay.
- inactive, on 02/09/2009, -1/+18When are the Grammy's going to have real good musicians and artists win awards.
- ChunkerMunker, on 02/09/2009, -10/+27Coldplay is a boring uninspiring safe band. They basically make the same song over and over.
Radiohead is miles away by far the better band.
And I agree, any song from In Rainbows>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> that one - SodaForJones, on 02/09/2009, -5/+21I can honestly say I've never heard this song.
- JAVandiver, on 02/09/2009, -3/+18***** your couch?
- jmb93, on 02/09/2009, -5/+19You listen to Coldplay!
- dleas, on 02/09/2009, -12/+26Them winning best rock album is almost as wrong as Jethro Tull pulling down best heavy metal performance.
Too bad Metallica got screwed both times - kamakazitp, on 02/09/2009, -0/+13Yet you posted...
- tehWhisp, on 02/09/2009, -3/+16I love reading the digg bandwagon comments.
- froston, on 02/09/2009, -2/+15All of Radioheads are better.
- ATL, on 06/20/2009, -3/+14I'm disappointed with your accidentalling
- DeadPlasmaCell, on 02/09/2009, -1/+12***** the ***** *****
- Hrodrik, on 02/09/2009, -7/+18The Black Keys, Scars on Broadway, Turisas.
What do these bands have in common? They surely released better music than ***** in 2008. - Caffro, on 02/09/2009, -2/+13I agree.. songs like Reckoner, All I Need and Nude just blow Coldplay's songs out of the water
- publiclurker, on 02/09/2009, -1/+12Somewhere on the net is a clip where they superimposed the two songs. Not only did they fit together, but I think it sounded better.
- azikrogar, on 02/09/2009, -0/+113. Dress like you shop at a Goodwill store
Not dogging Goodwill there...just saying that artists typically wear a mesh of various clothing that all look quite used and abused. /shrug - deathcapt, on 02/09/2009, -1/+11I knew this type of comment would be here. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I know I can rely on diggers to post and rant about the things I think about, but am too lazy to actually post.
- uruururr, on 02/09/2009, -5/+15this definitively proves that the grammies are gay
- SpykerSpeed, on 02/09/2009, -3/+12***** YOU FOR GIVING YOUR OPINION. ;)
- SpykerSpeed, on 02/09/2009, -2/+11You realize you guys just ate your parents in a bowl of chili.
- OUberLord, on 02/09/2009, -0/+9Hondas?
- insertAliasHere, on 02/09/2009, -0/+9Obviously.
- catsaregrey, on 02/09/2009, -0/+9it only dies if you let it. there's plenty of great rock music out there.
- stonebone4, on 02/09/2009, -2/+11coldplay likes coldplay.
- Griberal, on 02/09/2009, -0/+9I was pulling for Chris Brown's cover of "Smack My Bitch Up" to win the grammy.
- bigfatphony19, on 02/09/2009, -5/+13It's not just the chords, it's the MELODY OF THE SONG.
***** something else. - megapeg, on 02/09/2009, -2/+10I can honestly say you probably live in a box. Do you not, say, visit a retail establishment or watch television at all?
Seriously - I write about world and ethnic folk music for a living, and never listen to commercial radio, and I've still heard this song (unintentionally) enough times that I know the words. -
