- Shuk, on 11/12/2007, -0/+24The immense popularity of Led Zeppelin today gives me hope for the future of music. When crap like 50 cent concerts are sold out instantly, I remember that millions more love Led Zeppelin, and it makes me happy. However, I'm sad that I will never get to see my favourite band live, since this is probably their last show. Damn me being born in the 80s!!!
- Paktu, on 11/12/2007, -1/+22“These are the private jets of tickets,” said Joe Cohen, head of Seatwave.
Nominated for stupidest analogy of the year. - VaporBro, on 11/12/2007, -0/+8Rudy:
"These are the 9/11 of tickets." - webcure, on 11/12/2007, -1/+8Too much money for a concert, but I would probably pay it if I had $5,000 to spare. I don't, so I will have to read about it on digg. Thanks cosmik!
- corporalclegg24, on 11/12/2007, -0/+6Worth it.
- MacEnvy, on 11/12/2007, -0/+3Don't feed the trolls.
- Br0wn, on 11/12/2007, -0/+3Ya I feel the same. When I heard some recent concerts like Van Halen, Foreigner, Def Lep and Styx concerts sold out it shows people still appreciate good music instead of falling for the music industry these days where Rap stars dissing each other sells records.
- NeoCortex, on 11/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, tell me about it. My parents' generation got Zeppelin. Our generation gets to look forward to tribute concerts by Hootie and the Blowfish.
- duniyadnd, on 11/12/2007, -0/+2If this is a one time event - sure.. Considering to get court side tickets to a New York Knicks game (I guess to watch the opponents) is $3,000+
- madm0nk, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2They're not washed up ..... they're broke up. And they're also one of the most influential bands in history. If you are not writing music that people will want to listen to 30-40 years later, shut the ***** up.
- anarchyinthekr, on 11/12/2007, -0/+2i'll take a dozen
- Bkaufman, on 11/12/2007, -3/+4I'd rather see a Pink Floyd Reunion show (live 8 doesn't count, I want a whole concert).
- joebleaux, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1I entered to get tickets to this show, but wasn't fortunate enough to be selected. The original price of $250 a ticket plus the cost of airfare would of been way worth it.
$5,000? not so much. - InferiorWang, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1They're just letting you know that you won't have to rub elbows with the little people while you watch your concert.
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1Worth it.
- Br0wn, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1Washed up? Ever notice why most rap stars retire early? There is only so much you can rap about being from the streets. Then there are only so many songs you can make about how rich you are. So they retire and stick to making beats.
- mjrmjr65, on 11/12/2007, -0/+1How did attending a Page/Plant concert destroy your conceptualization of what Zepp is? I went to several of their shows and they were great.
- whatthefu, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1What if I said the same thing about Beethoven? =
- stonedslacker, on 11/12/2007, -0/+1Led Zeppelin concerts used to be a part of the pre-9/11 world. Everything changed on 9/11. This concert should not go on.
- JHattendorfII, on 11/12/2007, -0/+1for that price, they may let you give him one.
- webcrawl, on 05/13/2008, -0/+0These days the brokers take away all the best tickets from the primary market, leaving minnows like us to go to the secondary sellers. I have had a few experiences, I was trying to buy a mets ticket from Ticketmaster.com, but nothing showed up, went to ticketloot.com and stubhub website there was a huge list of available tickets. their prices were quite reasonable compared to a few others i tried, good experience, but i would love to get these seats in primary market.. one lucky day.
- edduck4, on 11/19/2008, -0/+0Just wondering if anyone knows of any good trustworthy sites to get tickets for events like these?
- dogma444, on 12/03/2007, -0/+0i have a spare ticket if anyone is interested in meeting me at the ticket window. no gouging and no joke email on aol
- dminds, on 11/12/2007, -1/+1Who cares? That isn't that expensive. You would pay more for courtside seats at a Laker game...
- Bkaufman, on 11/12/2007, -2/+2Ummm....Styx?
- Dysarthria, on 11/12/2007, -1/+15K is a lot for a ticket, but not for this sort of an event.
- kinda4, on 11/12/2007, -0/+0It was for charity...that makes it alot easier to swallow. Besides, you could easily spend that at a stupid club in nyc in about an hour and it wouldn't even be all that impressive.
- Thejammaster, on 11/12/2007, -1/+1Why would Kieth Moon be there in the first place?
- mitgib, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0You must be too young to remember that Styx was a major act filling stadiums before they did crap like Killroy, but I did see them in 2000 at a small community center, and they still rocked, and with about 500 in attendance it was a great way to see them up close. Edgar Winter was the opener, then Starship, boy they sure didn't stand the test of time, then Styx promoting Brave New World.
- f4nt0m4s, on 11/12/2007, -2/+1yeah, get your head out of the mainstream's ass, not all new music is bad you just need to know where to look
zeppelin is a dinosaur band, a ***** classic one always worth listening and remembering, but it's time to move on - BarbadoSlim, on 11/12/2007, -1/+0Hehehehehe....., I don't think so
- ksong12, on 11/12/2007, -2/+1Ok, lets not even get into those Hannah Montana tickets...
I found a $30000 ticket for one of those luxury suites for 5 people. (Thats $6000) - Christbait, on 11/12/2007, -4/+2What a joke. 2 and a half grand to see a bunch of old has-beens sweating it out on stage. I could pay to see a hundred more interesting bands with that amount of money and you'd pay less than £20 each time.
- NSMike, on 11/12/2007, -3/+1Kind of depressing that $5,200 = £2,500.
- jsauter, on 11/12/2007, -2/+0I would be really hesitant to spend anything over face value considering how much the Page and Plant concert I went to 11 years ago destroyed my conceptulization of what Zepp is (and was).
Considering Plant is even a decade older then that concert, I think it would be even worse...
What they need is a viking funeral, and never do anything together as Zepp ever again. - jerryterhorst, on 11/12/2007, -8/+5im sure that's a cool story, but all im focused on is how much ***** the dollar is compared to the pound now.
- mrogi, on 11/12/2007, -5/+1In less than 20 minutes and by simply clicking a mouse; I can download every album ever recorded by Led Zeppelin free of charge. Why would anybody pay $5K to see a bunch of geezers way past their prime and minus the greatest rock drummer of all time?
- brodycrider, on 11/12/2007, -7/+3Whats the point if John Bonham isn't alive?
- zeroHead, on 11/12/2007, -4/+0On a side note; it's funny how the U.S. is the most powerful country in the world yet our dollar is worth almost nothing.
- bmc152006, on 11/12/2007, -7/+2pocket change, count me in.
