- toran, on 10/12/2007, -9/+23god kills a kitten every time you blog spam.
- Gaferion, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/2448
- Zonkzor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I marked this as spam. Too bad reporting stories never actually does anything.
- MarvinMan, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12Couldn't you just have linked to the extension itself?
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The blog post has added value: there are instructions on it, not found on the original link. (I didn't look for any in the download, though, as I don't use Firefox).
True, it's his own blog, but at least the post is more than just 'Look what I Found! [link]'. It has information that, AFAIK, the original link does not. - Zonkzor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7It's not about us lacking the skills to navigate a blog, it's about submitters trying to drive some worthless traffic to their worthless blogs instead of linking to the story directly.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4it's not spam... it's a tutorial on his blog. if he links to greasemonkey you'll have no RIAA radar.
- SniperGX1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not blog spam, there is not one link someone could link to that can get you RIAA radar. You need to install the grease monkey extension first. Then you install the grease monkey script for RIAA radar. The blog post links to both of these. Before calling something blog spam click the damn link and see what the post is about.
- iMatt711, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i know we all hate the riaa but who can avoid listening to riaa music, all mainstream music is riaa, and the badns that arent riaa are generally obvious
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nifty?
Seems more like just good ole common sense to me.
I could personally could care less about the RIAA. - diafel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Woah sweet, an entire extension for the off chance I might be shopping Amazon and want to purchase music, and also boycott the RIAA. Way to stick it to the Man!
Digg users can be real sheep sometimes. - Gaferion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ya, but the direct link has instructions also ...
There is a link on page that says "Install this script or click here to find out how"
So, still no real need for a blog link ... - KilgoreCarp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes I think the RIAA is totally out of touch, greedy, and bad for music. No I won't skip buying the next built to spill or modest mouse record because their labels are corporate. I don't really think this whole RIAA boycott really accomplishes anything. If you've got good taste in music, if anything, boycotting all RIAA records will just encourage majors to keep flooding the airwaves with horrible *****. I think the RIAA needs a wakeup call - I just don't think this is going to make it happen.
- Writher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is silly. Why would I install a firefox extension for such a small set of circumstances?
It's like saying "Here's a firefox extension that will filter all Digg articles linked to blogs" .....errrr oh wait nevermind that would actually be useful.
Sorry, no digg. - Durrok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Uhm... the last CD I bought was disturbed 10k fists. I instantly turned around and sold the album on Ebay since I had already had the CD downloaded for over a month.
I wouldn't think that there would be many people who read digg that would buy music from amazon. Cool idea though.
Oh yeah, and death to blog spam! - expensix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great, another extention to slow up Firefox.
- WDot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Sticking it to the man" sounds nice at first, but when only a handful of rebels are doing it, it's not very effective. Unless said handful of rebels were taking X-wings into the corporate buildings and strategically bombing certain chutes with the Force. If we really want the RIAA to change its ways, it's going to take a bit more than that. But you probably already knew that. =P
- geekee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2A lot of independent labels are members of the RIAA. see here:
http://www.riaa.com/about/members/default.asp - s.lucero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Given, this would only be useful if purchase albums off of amazon... who does that? I'm good with the whole "stickin it to the RIAA" deal, but i don't but albums off amazon.
- CRASSPUNXTEXHTV, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4 almost all the music listen to is on indepent lables so i do not need this.
but it is usefull fore pepole who listen to any music that is popular but all of it is from record labels involved with the riaa - benthekuno, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1All linking something through your blog will do is help convince people NOT to digg it. If you want to provide your blog some linkage digg has that handy "who blogged this?" on the right hand side. Or you could make a meaningful comment and hope someone looks up your user profile and follows up that way.
- Psygnosis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Cool script, misleading title
- GoldenGod, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5Being as web savy as all of you think you are it shouldn't be to hard to navigate the blog... Cut the guy some slack....
- hadem, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Stories like this seldom make it to the front page because dumbasses keep linking to their blogs.
Newsflash! Your blog isn't the news! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1fark > digg once they beef up the tech section
/o rry - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1ORLY... This isn't Fark
- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5I don't like cats but I can't stand sifting though crappy blogs.
Don't encourage. - BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -16/+3http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/Einhanderkiller/untitled15af.jpg
