- cruzer2727, on 01/30/2008, -0/+9TMV for life! Buy their albums, support TMV.
- zenogais, on 01/30/2008, -2/+10The new album is incredible, and the story seriously gave me the chills the first time I read it.
- WWWoody, on 01/30/2008, -1/+9TMV haven't failed a single song. With that said, this album is one intense ride. I ***** love it.
- nanohead, on 01/30/2008, -3/+10Hehe! Latinos are so superstitious.
- joshPB, on 01/30/2008, -4/+11Not going to lie. Ouija boards are very odd.
- Dernit, on 01/30/2008, -1/+7I heard this review last night. Kudos to NPR.
- Nac85, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5I must say, I've been looking forward to this album for quite some time, and it was worth the wait. Also, I ended up at the San Francisco New Years Eve show with the Mars Volta, and they played a new acoustic song, that unfortunately didn't show up on this CD. Nevertheless, Mars Volta are an incredible band and hopefully people will enjoy their new album.
- Synthesize, on 01/31/2008, -0/+4This album is fantastic.
- scooterbaga, on 01/30/2008, -2/+6-man walks into a police station-
"The card said go directly to jail so... here I am." - SteveThePlank, on 01/30/2008, -4/+7This album is ***** awesome and I can't stop listening to it, but c'mon...
Oujia board talking to them? Sounds to me like The Mars Volta smoked some crack and played Monopoly. - MacEnvy, on 01/31/2008, -1/+4Eh. Last time I used one I was about 13 years old, and no one figured out that I was the one moving the "pointer". I have to admit, it was fun freaking out the other people at the table (some of whom were gullible adults).
Supernatural phenomena = ruse. Unless you're the guy doing the trick I guess it's amusing. - seanmanseanman, on 01/31/2008, -1/+4There is a bedlam in my PANTS
- AsSubtleAsABrik, on 01/31/2008, -0/+3Hopefully the algorithm gods don't dick this story from hitting the front page. This is the first time I wish my e-penis was big enough to do that..
- minusthebux, on 01/30/2008, -4/+6Whoa, The Mars Volta just linked me from myspace to Digg. That's pretty cool. The new album is awesome, and Thomas Pridgen and Omar are gods.
- Gorvan, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2Not going to lie, they're not. It's called the ideomotor effect: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ideomotor
I could do the same thing with a Monopoly board. - scooterbaga, on 01/30/2008, -1/+3Find out and get back to us...
- chokeaduck, on 02/01/2008, -0/+2Did you even listen to their music before making this comment? Survey says... you didn't. Buried.
- wheelzr, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1far and away one of the most interesting and complex bands around. 20 years from now people will remember this band and the amazing albums they put out. This kind of music can take years to be digested.
- Narrwald, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1M4d supportz for teh Volta. In all seriousness, this album is a perfect 10.
- Systaltic, on 01/30/2008, -2/+3Quite an intense album. Now knowing about the possible existence of spirits makes it even more fun to listen to.
- davymac, on 01/30/2008, -0/+1coocuy anyone?
- civilizedevil, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Old news. I channel the spirits when making music too.
- AsSubtleAsABrik, on 01/30/2008, -1/+2The performance of Cygnus on Best Buy's bonus DVD is ***** unbelievable. I can't believe I've only seen them live once.
- h0zae, on 01/30/2008, -0/+1palabra.
- refreshers, on 01/31/2008, -1/+2Goliath operational.
- titopuente, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1They haven't been on heroin since Deloused in the Comatorium. And I would say that keeping Amputechture and the earlier albums in mind is the only thing keeping me listening to The Mars Volta after hearing The Bedlam.
- blurrie, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1i dunno about this but the album is awesome!!!
- ChiRolla, on 01/30/2008, -0/+1Yes! I can't wait for them to come back to Chicago! :)
- patthew, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Considering that The Mars Volta contributes something like 1/3 of America's heroin intake, I think most people will chalk it up to that. But hey, if they think evil spirits motivated them to create an album that more than made up for the last one then that's fine by me.
- Protoss, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1[citation needed]
- patthew, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1I thought they were haunted during the creation of DeLoused, because that was recorded at Rick Rubin's mansion which is supposedly haunted.
- chokeaduck, on 02/01/2008, -1/+1Agreed. Dude what are you doing with your life?
- Audacitor, on 01/31/2008, -1/+1You have a MySpace? *cringe*
- Ph4nt45m4g0r14, on 01/31/2008, -0/+0Gah! I NEED THIS ALBUM NOW!!!
- mofw, on 01/31/2008, -0/+0This album is great, just finished my 3rd listen. Saw them perform some of the songs New Years Eve and have been waiting to buy the CD ever since than.
BTW there's plenty more to the ouija story than what's in this NPR article. - UNDERSTAR, on 01/31/2008, -1/+0OMAR IS GOD!
- sbeboogie, on 01/30/2008, -2/+1been WAITING FOR IT FOR A LONG TIME!!! just AMAZING
- NoobSaibot, on 01/30/2008, -6/+4I hope this album is better than the last few; the mars volta seem to become more and more tedious with each release.
although to be fair, I will always prefer At The Drive-In. - JackisaStray, on 01/30/2008, -5/+1... this sounds just like the story an online news circuit said about ghosts haunting the album 'frances the mute'. only that story wasnt so elaborate...... if this ouija story is true im kind of boggled at the idiocy of this band anymore... what the hell happened to their ***** after de-loused. they were geniuses
- danisbored4life, on 01/30/2008, -7/+2I wonder what this album is like under the influence of some sorta drug.
