TIMBALAND. - elbergel, on 03/12/2009, -6/+285Cornell probably thought to himself "Timbaland knows the way to reach the top of the chats; maybe if I work with him I can perfect the art."
- highlymodified, on 03/12/2009, -30/+251Reznor's not one to tolerate *****, no matter how strange the experiments.
This is why he ***** rules. - Spamcan, on 03/12/2009, -20/+209The shoe company? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
- ToyYoda, on 03/12/2009, -2/+161i heard the CD and I completely agree
what a long way Chris has come from Sound Garden to suck that bad - chuckles08, on 03/12/2009, -2/+132I'm guessing Trent is a Soundgarden fan and is disappointed (like many of us Soundgarden fans) with what's become of the legendary band's frontman.
- davidjunit, on 03/12/2009, -3/+118I'm just pretending I don't see most of what Cornell has done past Soundgarden.
- kvanderslice, on 03/12/2009, -11/+93LEAVE CHRIS ALONE
- etx313, on 03/12/2009, -10/+881. Trent
2. Digg
... You know the rest. - macmcraeart, on 03/12/2009, -4/+73just to piss you off.
- lostarchitect, on 03/12/2009, -2/+55woah there, short stuff. hold your horses.
in rainbows? really? the ONLY decent album? Are you aware that radiohead released some excellent records before that? Have you heard Nirvana's nevermind? That was 91, i believe. Did you know that The Clash released Combat Rock in 1982? How about 1987's Appetite for Destruction by Guns n' Roses? Let's not forget Nothing's Shocking (1988) by Jane's Addiction. Nick Cave's Let Love In was 1994. Amazing album. And how about Pixies, who released 4 albums from 1988 on... all of which are damn good. Leonard Cohen's released no fewer than 5 albums since 1979, most of which were pretty good. Speaking of Nine Inch Nails, all Trent's stuff is post '79 and a fair chunk of it is good.
I'm gonna stop now because this could get long. But you get my point, I'm sure. - chadwalters23, on 03/12/2009, -3/+55Hey. Junior. You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
- mittermayr, on 03/12/2009, -2/+53dugg for three nerds in a row, that's like a flush.
- eddantes7, on 03/12/2009, -7/+56Holy crap! You guys missed the real story here....Trent Reznor has found Jesus!
- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -1/+48Taking a tip from Weezer didn't SEEM like such a bad idea...............
- rinote, on 03/12/2009, -7/+54Dugg for Weezer reference.
- DirkBelig, on 03/12/2009, -3/+47The irony of someone with "ballz" (with a "Z") in their handle not recognizing a pun is breathtaking.
- danwallace, on 03/12/2009, -3/+42Nothing. But if it sucks ass, expect to hear about it.
- chuckDontSurf, on 03/12/2009, -16/+55Don't you mean "hear"? And hey, Audioslave did some great stuff.
- DreKor, on 03/12/2009, -5/+41Seems Mr. Reznor and I agree.
The mp3 version was cheap on Amazon and seemed like a good idea. Thank god for track previews. I saved $3. - Barr08, on 03/12/2009, -4/+40"You never saw the sign, and you NEVER WILL"

- dizzylalapo11, on 03/12/2009, -6/+35HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's so funny, last time I heard that I fell of my dinosaur. - wakeb791, on 03/12/2009, -1/+29Yeah, it's a ***** abortion of an album.
- wollsmosh, on 03/12/2009, -0/+28It would've probably been better if it was the shoe company...
- bluehouse, on 03/12/2009, -0/+28I just previewed it and I have to agree
- kamakazitp, on 03/12/2009, -1/+27they are both good, however the recent cornell stuff has little connection to the good music he used to make.
- poolguy, on 03/12/2009, -4/+30Dugg for Robotron
- danwallace, on 03/12/2009, -3/+28I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you think Reznor and Cornell are irrelevant today? I wish that were true. I'd have an easier time scoring NIN tickets. Those things sell like mad.
- takitus, on 03/12/2009, -2/+27Sounds like Chris Cornell meets Miley Cyrus... wtf was he thinking?
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -5/+29If you want to hear a good Chris Cornell solo album, do yourself a favor and pick up Euphoria Morning. He wrote that album with Alain Johannes and Natasha Shneider on guitar and keys (Eleven, QOTSA) and Josh Freese on drums (Who also played with NIN, funny enough). Brilliant record.
I generally love Cornell's work, but I can't stomach Scream at all. I don't know what the ***** he was thinking producing a record with Timbaland of all people. The guy is a one-trick hack who has an ear for simply what's marketable, not what's original or fresh. :\ - jiggawatt, on 03/12/2009, -3/+25Are you kidding me? The Slip, a completely free album, was one of the better ones this past year, and certainly one of the better NIN albums IMO.
I vehemently disagree with you.
Cornell has been around slightly longer than Reznor, but has done a steady decline into obscurity since. It's just all bland crap. Temple of the Dog and Badmotorfinger and early Sound Garden stuff was good, but it's like he lost all creative ideas after that. The guy lost it a while ago. Audioslave was mediocre, and much overhyped. The band had something unique and creative with RATM, but sounded like just another badly crooning Nickleback in Audioslave. - phaseblue, on 03/12/2009, -0/+22You didn't hear? http://www.theonion.com/content/news/soundgarden_i ...
- bodegit, on 03/12/2009, -2/+23That explains it. I listened to the samples on iTunes. Sounds like the beats were made in Garageband. Like a bad mix of tecno pop and rock.
- Fleagleman, on 03/12/2009, -59/+80Oh no! How horrible!
...if this were still the 90s.
What's next? Vanilla Ice disses Ace of Base? - CTK14A, on 03/12/2009, -0/+20I wonder if it was before or after the Devil wanted to ***** him in the back of his car.
- Crazyredivan, on 03/12/2009, -1/+21How does "The Slip" blow?
And, for someone to have been around as long as Cornell, he should have known how terrible this record was going to sound. If it was one song, ok, I agree: give him a break. But the whole album? Please. - jer21, on 03/12/2009, -4/+23Audioslave's first CD was amazing...the second was decent...the third sucked.
- dwrunyon, on 03/12/2009, -0/+18Somewhere on the NE seaboard there simply *must* arise a teenage garage band called Guido Landlord.
- lansuggs, on 03/12/2009, -0/+18Never even knew he had a solo album, but then I saw this gem:

...Jesus - MetaLRasaM, on 03/12/2009, -5/+22Dude, don't say that man. Tons of great Rap/R&B/Hip Hop albums are out there. Just step away from MTV and the Radio.
You can find some amazing stuff. - vondrak, on 03/12/2009, -1/+18Soundgarden is awesome, but Chris isn't Soundgarden. I like his previous solo stuff, but I saw him in Nov. with Timbaland and it was awful. Timbaland sucked hardcore, and Chris only played his new stuff. Nothing from his other solo albums, nothing from SG except the encore when Timbaland came out and they played an atrocious cover of Blackhole Sun.
I really hope this is just an experiment and he gets back to making solid music soon. - Inflammo, on 03/12/2009, -3/+19He should have. I love Soundgarden, and l like Chris Cornell's other solo albums too, but this one sucks hard.
Good for Trent for not being shy about voicing his opinion of other artists - merreborn, on 03/12/2009, -4/+20Cornell is irrelevant. Reznor's still the man.
The newer NIN albums haven't been totally mindblowing, but he gets major points for revolutionary marketing, from the Year Zero ARG, to the online distribution of Ghosts I–IV.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NIN#Year_Zero_.282007 ...
This man is helping to shape the future of music distribution and marketing. - wakeb791, on 03/12/2009, -6/+21Cornell, yes. Reznor? Hell no.
- MRintheKeys, on 03/12/2009, -1/+16When did Jurassic Park re-open!?!?!?!?!?!
- trunk8, on 03/12/2009, -2/+16I don't get that impression at all....in fact, I get the impression that Trent is never satisfied with anything he releases. It's known that he spends a lot of time remixing and fine tuning anything before he releases it, and there's always tweaks and variations in live versions. Also, he challenges fans and other artists to remix his songs. That doesn't exactly scream "conceited" to me. All he did was say what we all were thinking about CC's new album, simple as that.
