- FlyinRyan89, on 04/20/2009, -4/+42Hold on just one second...
So, Trent Reznor ISN'T God? - copypastry, on 04/20/2009, -1/+30Come on Trent just play a heartfelt acoustic version of We're In This Together.
Perry will see the light. - RunDiggMC, on 04/20/2009, -0/+28Care to share with the rest of the class? :-)
- doctordbx, on 04/20/2009, -10/+37Wow... NOT EVEN Trent Reznor... gosh.
Honestly, I don't mind the odd NiN tune, but Digg's infatuation with Reznor is cutting into Steve Jobs / Jesus Phone worship time. - Gnar04, on 04/20/2009, -2/+26dont tell kevin rose.
- dygel, on 04/20/2009, -1/+20You'd be dead wrong to say that Reznor has never associated with Jane's Addiction; the choice of JA as a touring partner wasn't the result of a game of spin-the-bottle. Nine Inch Nails' earliest tour was as an opening act for Jane's Addiction - it's a point of symmetry that NIN's final tour before a break of indeterminate length is with Jane's Addiction.
- Dreeon, on 04/20/2009, -1/+18Whatever...so long as I get to see NIN this year I'll be happy.
- dronkmunk, on 04/20/2009, -0/+15It was during this period that Peretz chose the pseudonym Perry Farrell for himself as a play on the word 'peripheral'.
- novenator, on 04/20/2009, -4/+17Sidenote, it took me years to realize what the stage name Perry Farrell means.
- copypastry, on 04/20/2009, -0/+12He's in there man.
- Kniveznor, on 04/20/2009, -0/+11pump your breaks, that mans a national treasure.
- Kronos6948, on 04/20/2009, -1/+12I didn't even know it had a meaning.
- thephosphorbox, on 04/20/2009, -2/+13"I see 100,000 people in the United Kingdom singing along to this song," he said. "We don't have a record label to have to worry about putting together something that they can charge $19.99 for. I think we should put the songs out and keep writing and be creative. It's great that we have these classic songs, but it couldn't hurt us to put in more new songs (in our shows) that people know and got online for free."
***** the RIAA? :) - charlietuna, on 04/20/2009, -0/+8Peripheral? *****, Lou Cipher is a better pseudonym.
- Hercules, on 04/20/2009, -1/+9Honestly their band isn't even that good -- few catchy songs but largely a bore. I'm going for the the NIN show, not the Jane's Addiction show. They should be lucky they are even on the bill. But "NINJA" does sound cool.
- lakanen, on 04/20/2009, -0/+8I'm pretty sure they mean first tour in 18 years with the original lineup.
- quantumrose, on 04/20/2009, -2/+9Ooooooo somebody's about to get buried.
- wpc33, on 04/20/2009, -0/+6On a side note, Axl Rose is an anagram for Oral Sex.
- jason210, on 04/20/2009, -0/+6if he was then according to himself hes dead. how's that a paradox for you?
- jollyroger814, on 04/20/2009, -2/+8I have tickets to this tour. I really hope that it goes through.
- AndersenWatcher, on 04/20/2009, -5/+11"Head like a hole
Black as your soul
I'd rather die
Than give you control"
The guy who wrote the above... probably not the one you turn to to mediate disputes.
JMO - tnvwboy, on 04/20/2009, -0/+5So in short, they got all pissy with one another in a recording session, Trent tried to mediate, realized it wasn't worth getting into the middle of it and stepped away. The tour, by Farrell's comments, is still a go.
Where is the news in this story?? - z00k, on 04/20/2009, -1/+6FUUUUUUUUUUUUu-
I have pit tickets to the Atlanta Concert with them next month. People better get their ***** straight :( - daedalus1982, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4while I respect others taste in music I have to agree with you. I don't like JA.
The best thing to come from their touring with NIN is the resulting NIN | JA t-shirt that I'll be getting shortly.
That said I appreciate the two groups history together and how this must suck for people that actually like Jane's Addiction...There are people out there that actually like them right? - 0mnibot, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4Good. I'm stuck seeing them in chicago without JA anyway, so drop them and bring Peaches again! :)
- JRowe3388, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4Jane's Addiction gave NIN their first big break with the opening slot on Lollapalooza.
- AndyAldrich, on 04/20/2009, -2/+5Please think before posting flamebate.
- charlietuna, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3Here I am thinking peripheral? RS-232, IEEE 1284?
- crashposition, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3Eh, "first tour in almost 18 years" - I saw them in Glasgow a few years ago?! And yes, they were awesome.
- mkokes, on 04/20/2009, -1/+4peripheral
- jason210, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2in other words hes on the peripheral of being cool.
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2I smell a reality documentary involving a therapist who has bigger issues than they do.
- matthewf01, on 04/20/2009, -3/+5"peripheral" --- I thought it would turn out to be something more clever :-\ But, why would I give Perry Farrel credit for being clever?
- girldrinkdrunk, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2The original live version of "Jane Says" off of the first (XXX label) album is the one that grabbed me when they first came out. The version on "Nothing Shocking" pales in comparison, and actually diminishes the song for me. Of course, that's the version you get on the radio.
Speaking of radio, when I was on the air for a hard rock station that had just been bought by Cheap Channel, I had this Saturday night show called "The Other Side." Unfortunately, I was at the mercy of the program director who picked the music for the show. I remember asking him why they called the show "The Other Side," and he tells me that that's when the station gets to play the "less radio friendly tracks, the other side of the station," and I'm thinking like what (since the show hardly strayed from the regular playlist)? He says 'oh you know, some deeper cuts by Jane's Addicton, like Been Caught Stealin' or Jane Says. Maybe some 3 Doors Down or Creed.' Needless to say, I gave up on radio. - RumpleForeskin3, on 04/20/2009, -1/+3Trent is the new Tony Robbins
- zip000, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2Yeah, I totally never caught that.
- girldrinkdrunk, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2I love Jane's Addiction to death, but the album that Deconstruction (Navarro, Avery, et al) did right after Jane's broke up is a masterpiece.
- holmzz, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2This stinks more of marketing and publicity than true conflict.
I love Jane's, but they can stop trying to reaffirm their "edginess". - inactive, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2Farrell is a blow hard ?
- slvrbullet87, on 04/20/2009, -1/+2Navarro is never fail
- GerryBot, on 04/21/2009, -0/+1Shame it's not an anagram of "Egomaniacal *****", that would be much more appropriate.
- faz09, on 04/20/2009, -0/+1he meant first tour in with the orignal Jane's Addiction line up.
- Velvolver, on 05/12/2009, -0/+1Exactly. Best band I've ever seen open for NIN
- mindlessbabel, on 04/20/2009, -0/+1Guess I needed sarcasm tags.
- EGOvoruhk, on 04/20/2009, -1/+2First tour in almost 18 years? I saw them in 2003 at Lollapalooza. They were the headliners for the whole tour
- diggdong, on 04/20/2009, -0/+1 rockstars there is enough soup to go around.
- MewTwo, on 04/20/2009, -2/+3Seem like a bunch of whiny babies obsessed with manliness.
- PandaOnIce, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
