- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -13/+56Travis is an amazing drummer.
- AmyVernon, on 10/08/2008, -1/+41I can't blame him for not wanting to fly on a plane afterward.
- DavidGuetta9, on 10/08/2008, -0/+37His tattoos are gonna be pretty ***** up after all those burns.
- dannyboy3020, on 10/08/2008, -0/+26His chances of being in another plane crash are exactly the same as anyone else. Flipping a coin and having it land heads does not make it any less likely to land heads next time.
- ColeChampagne, on 10/08/2008, -1/+23I think I love the digg community, and then I see people say stuff like "He did not die?...thats a letdown" and I have to cringe a bit...Is that who we are?
And, for the record, the other 4 people that did sadly die were the 2 pilots, Travis's Assistant, and Travis's Body Guard. - kplo, on 04/01/2009, -1/+19Really is pretty crazy that he didn't go the way of SRV, Buddy Holly, et cetera, et cetera...
- CoreyHalliwell, on 10/08/2008, -1/+18he should rejoin the aquabats and bring back ska.
glad hes ok. - iMelrose, on 10/08/2008, -3/+19Try Neil Peart.
- SpectralSounds, on 10/08/2008, -0/+14Uh, no.
- topherbook, on 10/08/2008, -1/+14You can't argue that the guy is a good drummer. I think he's normally a total d-bag, but he's a tight, precise drummer with impressive technical skill. But he also knows that a song is often best served with a simpler beat. There's one Box Car Racer song whose bridge still totally blows me away. He's no Neil Peart or Terry Bozzio, but he's got great chops and a mind for song structure.
- ifire, on 10/08/2008, -0/+13Its a Brit magazine/website. They say things funny over there.
- sillygato, on 10/08/2008, -1/+14Glad to hear that Travis Barker could give an interview :) I hope he makes a full recovery
- jinjin, on 10/08/2008, -2/+13You poor soul. have you never heard of
Neal Peart?
John Bonham?
Keith Moon? - gpageau, on 10/08/2008, -1/+11Digg is not a "community," other than it is an anonymous group of mostly douchebags with too much time on their hands. Digg is a great source for news, for links and for opinion. But it's not a community any more than an AOL chatroom was 15 years ago.
- CaptainCool53, on 10/08/2008, -1/+11He's had a tough few years. His band broke up and he lost all contact with one of his best friends, Tom Delonge; he and his wife divorced; a broken arm prevented him from touring with his new band and forced him to eat meat after several years of vegetarianism to strengthen his bones; and now this. Dammit.
- CannedMango, on 10/08/2008, -0/+9I'm guessing it's you.
- peaceninja, on 10/08/2008, -0/+9i hope nobody goes to your funeral
- jerrolds, on 10/08/2008, -2/+11same as everyone elses
- LaBella023, on 10/08/2008, -1/+82 were brothers who were body guards for barker and dj am and the other 2 were the pilot and co-pilot. just about every article i read when it happened included the four of them. try reading the whole thing next time maybe.
- woofers07, on 10/08/2008, -4/+11digg me down for saying he's not an amazing drummer. Cause he's not, he's good, not amazing.
- ifire, on 10/08/2008, -1/+8agreed
- ZenLa, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying, the odds of somebody being in a 10th plane crash after already being in 9, is the same as someone else being in 1.
Should the fact that hes already been in 9 plane crashes, mean that he is now invincible to plane crashes? - Agrajag, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6By that logic, if you flip a coin and it comes up heads, the next flip would have a greater chance of coming up tails.
- Kenzan, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6Really?
0.5%?
Make that figure up just now did we?
It's a wee bit higher than that, on average.

- damonic, on 10/08/2008, -1/+6I can understand his fear of flying after a crash. But statistically, you are more likely to get injured or killed in one of the other modes of transportation.
- DarkoKun, on 10/08/2008, -0/+5Obviously not.... They're not celebs.
- Jok3r, on 10/08/2008, -0/+5except you know +44 isnt a emo band. Emotional hardcore died around the late 90's
- badmonkey6186, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4lynyrd skynyrd
- gpageau, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5Yeah, that eating meat thing is such a hardship.
- floronicman, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4Hope he has a speedy recovery! Best wishes to him
- Timmyftw, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4I could say the same for you.
- wizzroom, on 10/08/2008, -2/+6They say your chances of getting in a car accident is much higher than being in a plane crash, but what they don't say is that the survivability rate of being in a plane crash is like frigging 0.5%
You see, airplane manufacturers don't design airplanes around the assumption that they can and will at some point crash or malfunction during operation after years of use, automakers do. - lucy22, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3I bet he doesn't fly much again. I bet he starts using trains, cars and buses for transport.
- JMScheib, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3"You see, airplane manufacturers don't design airplanes around the assumption that they can and will at some point crash or malfunction during operation after years of use, automakers do."
That is NOT TRUE. AT ALL. - gahal, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3Let's see: he was recently in a plane crash where 2/3rds of the people on board died, has a massive amount of 3rd degree burns on his body, been in surgery after surgery, most likely doped to the gills for the pain, etc....
What the ***** do you expect? An intense hour long interview? - Mahoney07, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3I wonder if he can have sex anymore.
- ThisCommentSux, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/aeroplane
Also...
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/what - ahhell, on 10/08/2008, -3/+6Being rich is TOUGH!
- dmightx, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3I heard on the radio this morning said that he was afraid of traveling through the airplane prior to the accident.
- StandardsDT, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4+44 emo?! They are the farthest thing from emo, sure the lyrics might be emotional in some way. But what band doesn't use emotional lyrics? Korn, Rage, Chili Peppers, Rancid, and Less Than Jake and even the classic bands like Guns and Roses for example all use some form of emotion in some or all of their songs. Does that make them emo?! I think not.
The kids who dress up in black and cry saying their lives suck are not the true definition of what emo is and are fakes and have tainted it's original meaning and what it stood for back in the 80's/90's. They all need to take off the black eyeliner, comb their hair, stop wearing they're younger sisters pants and start acting mature.
In all seriousness though you might as well call all other bands in the world and the bands you listen to emo if your definition of it is based on the fact that a band has emotions in their lyrics. At least that's what your comment is coming off to me as. - inactive, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4If by amazing you mean "extremely average" then, yeah.
- molochi, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3No kidding, everyone knows it's spelled æroplane.
- KennMac, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Buried for having absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
- topherbook, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4And agreed.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4Don't forget Rick Allen, one armed drummer of Def Leppard.
- ethanpack, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4I love Neil Peart, but I'm going to have to go with one of the jazz greats.
Buddy Rich, perhaps? - ZenLa, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3since he already has been in a plane crash, I'd say that the odds of him getting in another plane crash are just the same as the odds anyone else gets in a plane crash
- roho76, on 10/08/2008, -1/+3What are the chances of being in two plane crashes in a single life time? If I survived the first one I would probably become a stunt pilot or something.
- Rev0lver, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2I'm not going to dignify your comment with much thought. ***** you.
- ByteGuerilla, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2What's it like being a rocket surgeon?
