Their vocalists includes 2 murderers (one stabbed his mother 30 times with a knife when he was a teenager, the other killed a guy with an iron pipe just for fun), and mental patients. One of the mental patients killed himself after the first album. Check out the video and judge the insanity of the band yourself.

I've seen videos of him firing a gun loaded with blanks at the audience, chasing people with a flamethrower, and jumping into the pit with a chainsaw. He also went to jail for spraying someone with hairspray and lighting him on fire, and broke a kids legs for wearing a GISM shirt and not knowing any songs (if the legends are true :p)

In essence, he created Norwegian black metal. Venom and Slayer talked about it but these guys lived and breathed pure hatred and evilness. Dead would always carry a dead bird in a bag and smell it to get the emotion and senses of death before a show. He shot himself and apologized in his suicide note for the excess blood....
