- LexisNexis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45I loved the disney version as a kid. It was probably the first thing I ever downloaded off kazaa. well, after the porn.
- ginrummy, on 10/12/2007, -10/+46Pssh, talk about old news. If you've seen this movie and never made the connection, you're probably stupid.
- Livewired, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32I just realized how much I miss old Disney.
- seeversjm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26For some reason I love the rooster much better then that annoying hamster!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22no kidding. What's happened to kid's media in general these day? All the old Disney movies, Sesame Street, the Muppets, Reading Rainbow, Newton's Apple, Square One, etc.; compare it to the crap they have on TV and the movie screens today for kids and it's just sad.
Pixar puts out quality stuff though; I guess that's where they funnelled all the Disney talent. - Trunkmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20That, and IIRC Disney threatened legal action against the original Hamster Dance Web site when it first came out back in what, 1998 or so? Here's the original Hamster Dance animated GIFs (albeit on a new domain):

Just slow down the audio and it's a straight rip from Robin Hood.
Edit: Here we go.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hampster_Dance
"The clip, "Whistle Stop", was taken from the opening credits to Walt Disney's 1973 animated version of Robin Hood and later the famous original HampsterDance 9-second loop WAV (dedodedo.wav) file was removed due to Disney copyright infringement." - c0r3file, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15
When people put a 'p' in hamster it makes me go nucular. - Shirokun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12The original song is called "Whistle Stop" by Roger Miller.
Thanks Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Hood_(1973_film)#Soundtrack_Listing - manhackman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12"Bushel Britches!"
- ray023, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"oo de la lee!"
- AXNJAXN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Let me be the first to say...
"hamster". - Waterrat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8 I second that.
Why do people always put a "p" in the word anyway? - Ahnteis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8>scrimaxinc
He did it on purpose. - scrimaxinc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9When people say nucular it makes me go nuclear.
- HomelessDepot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Robin Hood = best children's movie ever... meh, best animated, Hook's better.
- bromac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Stupid is as stupid does.
And this made the front page. This just in: Rappers sample popular rock songs for beats! More at 11! - wicketr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Shoot me now. I'm going to be humming this all day.
- FluffyWolf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Duh, as the teenagers say.
Yes, its from Robin Hood and I don't even have to look at the video to say that. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Rappers sample popular rock songs for beats! More at 11!"
No, it's more like "Something in your house could be a danger to your family. We'll tell you what it is at 11." - scratched, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5After "Treasure Planet" came out and did awful, Disney canned their animation department. They decided no one liked animated movies anymore and put their resources into pixar.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5then.. they dumped Pixar, claiming Pixar had no creative talent (lawl)
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Robin Hood was my all time favorite Disney movie. I get emotional thinking about the end when they think he's dead but he's breathing from under water using the reed.
- duczduczducz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4robin hood and little john runnin through the forest....

- steve693, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This song is really chill when sung by a rooster. Makes me want so sit in a rocking chair and smoke a pipe.
- Daolohua, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Its from that old Disney cartoon Robin Hood"
-oh great, now I feel old.
I remember the tune from when I saw the original movie as a kid. The hamster dance has done a very good job of making it mind-numbingly annoying - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3...
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally
Golly, what a day
... - zdislaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The copyright at the bottom of the page does make it pretty clear, even for those not among the "nearly everybody" who has seen the original movie. Sheesh.
- wisebob134, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I love that movie
- Gryffydd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Talk about a trip down memory lane, well, one good lane and one bad one.
- febryle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Did anyone NOT know this?? That's one of the best kids movies of all time, and Roger Miller's songs are fantastic.

- agentgray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ah, milord, the esteemed royal sovereign of the realm. The head man himself. You're beautiful.
Such savoir faire eclat elan, Hiss.
You took the words right out of my mouth, P.J.
P.J. I like that, do you know I do. Hiss, put it on my luggage.
I miss Peter Ustinov. Thanks to IMDB for quotes. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thats my favorite movie! I haven't seen that for ages...
- Sealab2021, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Fox and the Hound, Rescuers(1 and 2) and Robin Hood were my favorite Disney movies.
- Steveo117, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I thought everyone knew where it came from. Robin Hood was my favorite movie when I was a kid.
- lillevillewilly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've known this forever.
- Trunkmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Because the original creator of the "Hampster Dance" named his hamster "Hampton the Hampster".
Oh, and [sic]. - darzeecompany, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I knew this before you did. That makes me a better person than you. You have my permission to cry now.
- Riffraffs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My son drove us all nuts with that damn song
- yensed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I actually like the song. When I was 9 or 10 I heard it and liked it a lot. It triggered my love for Techno/Electric.. But thats just me :-)
- dxmzan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is my favorite Disney movie, dugg!
- ninth1dr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1there are times to this day, being years upon years after I first saw that fateful movie as a child, that I still get that whistle stuck in my head. I never really viewed the hamster dance, either. I always liked the friar, he was such a tool.
I think i picked up bow hunting after watching this movie for the 393rd time, it was short-lived. - TomP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I liked the very original site when it was just a page full of hamsters and a basic song on a loop
- OrlyonokEaglet, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Disney animation is incredible, no wonder you like it better.
- happyperson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i would rather get raped in the ear than listen to that song ever again
- spankaccount, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Is it news that pop music sucks? No digg.
- h4mx0r, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I thought the song was invented on the internets!
Im wrong again :(
Funny, I haven't heard the hampster dance jingle in quite some time now.
