Petey looks like he knows what's coming. - camilos007, on 08/25/2008, -1/+14The Beatles suck! They don't compare to {In this space, insert some current crappy teenage band that no one will remember in 3 years }.
- powatom, on 08/24/2008, -2/+15The Echo (Liverpool paper) has been publishing lots of Beatles photos over the last few days - if you're interested it's worth looking out for :)
- otto989, on 08/25/2008, -0/+10to whoever dugg him down: in their early days, The Beatles got turned down by Decca Records, with Dick Rowe stating, “We don’t like their sound, and ‘guitar music’ is on the way out”
damn he must regret that - Nairebis, on 08/25/2008, -0/+10I highly recommend reading the book, The Beatles Anthology. It's awesome describing how the Beatles came about. I think people tend to think that the Beatles just instantly exploded onto the scene, but that wasn't how it worked. They paid *dues*. They played incredibly crappy venues, just honing their craft. They worked liked slaves at times. It's actually pretty inspiring. The Beatles earned everything that came afterward, and in fact, they probably wouldn't have ended being THE BEATLES if it wasn't for the early period of "entertain or starve".
- twst1up, on 08/25/2008, -0/+9no. Paul was the bass player

- asnider, on 08/25/2008, -0/+411 pics, 12 pages, actually, which is even worse.
- Chronoped, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4It's incredible to see how popular their music continues to be as each new generation discovers them. I wonder how Paul and Ringo feel about it, or if they really understand just how much of an impact The Beatles had. Dugg for making me smile for the first time today.
- drgmdp, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4come together

- Hieronymus1, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Petey always looked unhappy. I can't immediately recall a single picture of the Pete Best-era Beatles in which Pete Best has anything more than a pained-looking smile.
- JohnP, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1Isnt that the "never published" shot the cavern club give out?
- aerobroken, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1The Beatles were a awesome band. I wish the Rolling stones would get more credit for still chugging along and playing great after all these years.
- powatom, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1George is the best Beatle, really - although I liked John's post-Beatles music more.
- HorseloverFat8, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1;)
- splorpdotorg, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1For You Blue.
- splorpdotorg, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1Paul played a Hofner bass. When onstage, John had his own mic while Paul and George sometimes shared one. Paul is left handed, so he and George could sing backup into the mic at the same time.
