- ChumpChief, on 10/12/2007, -18/+192Bad selections, come back when you know the definition of wussy. I'll nominate Nickelback and Linkin Park.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+81you can tell this list was written by even bigger pussies
- Mouse13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+61*ahem* Are we all forgetting SCOTT STAPP?!!?! (Creed)
- kaelyiesta, on 10/12/2007, -4/+63Buried as inaccurate. Freddy mercury's name shall not be spoken in the same sentence as wuss.
- slave25637, on 10/12/2007, -1/+59Moby isn't rock....he's electronica.
- lpmiller, on 10/12/2007, -2/+52these guys don't know what being a pussy means. Wearing eyeliner and looking goofy ala David Bowie doesn't make you pussy. Pussy songs like every god damn thing Nickleback or Creed ever did makes you a pussy.
- littletinyfish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+47Their definition of "rock" is both very broad and very narrow-minded at the same time...
- quacker912, on 10/12/2007, -17/+64Panic at the Disco isn't "rock," they are emo (or as I like to call it, "gay").
- aydoubleyou, on 10/12/2007, -2/+48Dont you dare call anyone in Smashing Pumpkins a wuss.
- towca, on 10/12/2007, -2/+48the retards who made that list knows ***** about music
- Falldog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+45Author needs to recheck his definition of ‘rock’. No digg.
- 1ofMany, on 10/12/2007, -0/+43Ok, gay does not necessarily equate to wuss. That's just the stereotype. But what upsets me is the fact that the description labels Freddy Mercury as a mega-wuss. Freddy's legend holds up 30 years later and he was in NO way a wuss.
- jccstatus, on 10/12/2007, -8/+46I'll second that motion
- demonotaku, on 10/12/2007, -6/+43At least they put Panic! on there. I'm so sick of their garbage being played.
- Frozenpython, on 10/12/2007, -4/+39Yeah I have to agree, this list is terrible. Obviously they don't know ***** about music... and they are missing the two biggest ass-hat bands of all time, which I'm glad I see a lot of diggers have already mentioned. Nickelback and Creed (wow... I feel dirty for even saying those names)
- draebor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32When did Cracked start to suck this bad?
- Endies, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29Guarantee this guy is a Nickelback fan.
- CrimsonBlur, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27This is, by far, one of the very worst lists I have ever seen posted on Digg. Buried as lame.
- jguerry, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26why is billy corgan and jamesy on there?
***** that man, they aren't wusses. billy corgan might have worn a dress back in 93 during the siamese dream tour, but he was on acid!
he'd kick ass if he had to. Have you guys not heard him scream during XYU? ***** i'm scared of him. - tatltat, on 10/12/2007, -7/+29i think chris cornell is sick. especially the casino royale song.
- Zenquen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23HEY HEY HEY! Nobody Calls Freddie Mercury a Wuss, He was one of the greatest baddesses in all of rock and roll.
- mindbender9, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Agreed.
Freddie Mercury probably had one of the greatest voices mankind has ever heard. The guy sang opera for fun when he wasn't making music with his band Queen. And he earned the respect of many in the opera community when he performed.
Anyone who appreciates music cannot forget Freddie Mercury. His voice talent far surpassed any other singers while he still on this planet. - doctechnical, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Is it just me, or did Janis Joplin have more balls than 90% of today's class of "male" rockers?
Perhaps that's the problem, the really hard-core tend to OD. Damn, I miss John Bonham. Amongst others. - karolgajda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20First thing I thought when I clicked the link was "Nickelback" has gotta be #1. Imagine my disappointment.
- loki440, on 10/12/2007, -6/+24@ knightblade2oo4
You're kidding right? Chris Cornell could do an album of Barry Manilow covers and still have more balls than most of the rock bands out right now. In fact I heard him do a cover of "Billie Jean". The song has a totally different feel when a real man (who's actually had sex with a woman) sings it.
So in summation, ***** you. - TomRemixed, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19***** you Cracked.com and your lame selections for wussy people in rock.
- doctechnical, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16With pipes like those, who gives ***** the first about his stage apperance? I didn't buy the records for the ***** fashion advice...
- intoflatlines, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Remember what Billy did to the lead singer of The Used? I don't think that qualifies Billy Corgan as a "pussy".
Billy Corgan is a big guy and he can definitely hold his own.
@jguerry:
..and into the eyes of the jackal I say "KABOOM"! - RomulusX86, on 10/12/2007, -11/+26Belle & Sebastian are amazing, so what if they're not tough?
- loki440, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Whoa! What's wrong with you guy?
The Beatles were NOT pussies. They were a very edgy band in their time, especially after Sgt Pepper. John said things that inspired death threats, namely: "We're bigger than Jesus Christ". This enraged Southern conservatives especially.
Paul created a huge uproar by stating publicly that the band took drugs. . . and enjoyed them. Not a small admission, they were the biggest band on the planet and it was the 60's. Even though drugs were becoming more and more popular, no one publicly admitted to taking them! A "pussy" wouldn't have the guts to do that. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14clearly veiled homophobia where wuss==fag.
sorry. no funny. - dweeb79, on 10/12/2007, -9/+22@ keeblamos
WTF is that, Take that preachy ***** home LAME
Go listen to some AFI and cut thyself and if that doesn't do it make sure u take a hearty dose of 30 Seconds to Mars. I'm sure that will take ya home to the lord. - Steek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I liked the Theme song for Casino royale, and the killers. This guy has left out so many bands that deserve to be called wussies.
- offwithyourtv, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12@idonthack
Yes, plenty of us here on Digg are old enough (or at least knowledgeable enough) to know emo in the 1980's sense (Rites of Spring, et cetera) but the skinny suicidal brats with ridiculous hair of today's "emo" stole the word and raped it to label their own wussy little genre. It's a shame, really. Perhaps it would have been better if you had just said "emo today != emo two decades ago." - crestfall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Seriously, Chris Cornell? You've got to be ***** kidding me.
- dweeb79, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14System of a Down used to be cool before that other guy decided he wanted to take lead vocals away from Surge (I think thats his name). Since then I can't stand listening to them, that whine noise is just way to disturbing for me.
- AstralAutomaton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10And let's not forget the newest addition to the pussy-rock flooding the airwaves - Hinder.
- adolfojp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13"Alternative" is not a style of music.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+17Someone has to say it...
The Beatles were huuuuge pussies, and they rocked. I don't care if my music was made by giant pussies, so long as they're good.
Would we all be better off listening to guys who like to "sing" about how they will "put a hole in a ***** for ***** with me"? Entertaining site and dugg, but come on... the best music is made by guys who are giant pussies. - deannnnnn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Real men don't need to assert their masculinity by making lists of wusses. It's a bit discerning that the authors find Moby to be a threat to their masculinity. I mean, come on, it's just Moby. It's not like he can do anything to you.
- bwesterman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I nominate Sanjaya. GHA AH AHA AH AHA H AAH AH AHA HA!
- felyduw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9OK, This Is Lame.
- kaelyiesta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10well, if you want to get technical I did not speak it. However, then it means I can't bury the article since it wasn't spoken there either. Crap. I'm wrong either way... =(
- Kazbaeden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Stopped reading after the first thing I read "The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan and James Iha."
Burried as inaccurate. - idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Come on guys. I thought diggers were smarter than this.
ClearChannel's Emo™ != emo - Continuum, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9David Bowie: The original... everything.
- madduffy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I just joined digg in order to bury this story. Not only does he mostly pick on people outside of rock, he also chooses some good rockers. Who on this list is actually a wuss and in rock?
- justin22290, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10they should just of put EMO as a category and it should be #1
- fiver22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7This article seriously needs to be buried as 'Lame" -but, alas, it has already reached the front page: it's Nickleback, and Creed, and their ilk, that need to be called-out...ok, I agree that Chris Cornell has lost all credibility... ...point is: the article has missed the point. Metallica should be their number one target: they drove Jason from the line-up -and he was the only one left that kept them cool (he jeopardized this by being a part of "Supernova" -but to be fair, he always seemed to be uncomfortable with that *****).
BTW: Prince, and Freddy Mercury, are amazing musicians regardless of their sexuality: they wrote great songs -so go ***** yourself if you think their Sexuality detracts from their musical abilities. -
