- bluebettle, on 12/30/2008, -2/+76Here they are, just so the rest of you don't have to suffer through the asinine 10 pages;
1. The Killers "Human"
2. The Radioheads - "House of Cards"
3. Metallica - "All Nightmare Long"
4. Weezer - "Pork and Beans"
5. MGMT - "Time to Pretend"
6. Kanye West - "Heartless"
7. Coldplay - "Violet Hill"
8. Kings of Leon - "Sex on Fire"
9. Kings of Leon - "Use Somebody"
10. Gnarls Barkley - "Who's Goinna to Save My Soul?"
11. Kanye West - "Flashing Lights"
12. Airborne Toxic Event - "Sometime Around Midnight"
13. Oasis - "Shock of the Lightning"
14. Fall Out Boy - "I don't Care"
15. Paramore - "Decode"
16. Coldplay - "Viva la Vida"
17. Santogold "LES Artistes"
18. Beyonce - "Single Ladies"
19. Katy Perry - "Hot n Cold"
20. Erykah Badu - "Honey".
Some of these are pretty good and creative music videos, but they also chose a lot of boring as hell ones. The Killer's "Human," a boring performance video, is one of the best of 2008? I hope not.
Same with The Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody."
Watch that video and tell me what is noteworthy about it. Or what is in it that you haven't seen a million times before. - msaleem, on 12/30/2008, -2/+37Thanks RS for presenting them in a tiny-ass resolution so we can truly (not) appreciate the best music videos of the year, and then making it even better by divvying up 20 videos across 10 pages.
- ngmcs8203, on 12/30/2008, -3/+33It's Radiohead, not "The Radioheads"
- oda1, on 12/30/2008, -3/+32WTF is this? no Jonas brothers?

- chkdg8, on 12/30/2008, -0/+13Note to Rollingstone: Don't fool the public with 10 pages. @ bluebettle good work

I like The Killers, but Radiohead's video is truly creative and original, as opposed to Human, which is just a performance video in the desert, something done numerous times and better as well.
- nshady, on 12/30/2008, -2/+13Surprised to see The Killers beat out Radiohead. It was MADE WITH FRICKIN LASERS! What more do you people want?!
- skunkman62, on 12/30/2008, -2/+12it is 'the radioheads', i looked it up on "the google"
- Cymrubeats, on 12/30/2008, -1/+11Question: Who the ***** cares about what Rolling Stone readers say?
- wipis, on 12/30/2008, -1/+11I just watched that Killers video. Quality execution aside its cliche and boring.
"I got an idea. Lets have the band play in the middle of the desert."
"Didn't Depech Mode start that tradition like 20 years ago?"
"no but we'll have footage of exotic animals in the desert, even ones that don't belong there"
"Didn't white snake start that tradition 20 years ago"
"But well have laptop screens with pictures of the band members in front of their faces"
"like blue man group did?"
"trust me some hipster at Rolling stone will love it." - fallentree, on 12/30/2008, -9/+18No one reads that cum rag
- coopaloop, on 12/30/2008, -7/+15MGMT ftw

"Most avid readers of Rolling Stone only know what its like to have a ***** up their *****." - fuzed, on 12/30/2008, -2/+8If only there was a TV channel that played nothing but...hmmm...music videos. Man that would be awesome.
- XxModestMousexX, on 12/30/2008, -1/+7As much as I love the Kings of Leon, neither of their new videos are anything special.
- bluebettle, on 12/30/2008, -1/+7No, I am pretty sure they are called "The Radioheads," my brother talks about them all of the time.
They have this one song that was really popular a while back, called "Creepy" - inactive, on 12/30/2008, -1/+7In fact, it's been done numerous times and better by THE KILLERS.
- HighlanderBR, on 12/30/2008, -1/+6Try to watch outside of US.
- fratresminores, on 12/30/2008, -1/+6Radiohead - "House of Cards"
Weezer - "Pork and Beans"
Kanye West - "Heartless"
Gnarls Barkley - "Who's Goinna to Save My Soul?"
Santogold "LES Artistes"
Afte watching all of them, I'd say that those are the only ones that could qualify as best videos of the year. All of the other videos are just typical ones you'd see from other bands but these have some creativity and an artistic aspect. - bleutuna, on 12/30/2008, -2/+7Why have all these videos and not tell us *WHY* they were chosen?
- mtrizzy, on 12/30/2008, -1/+5Music Television.... Music?
- angstchild, on 12/30/2008, -1/+5No Bjork Wanderlust?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8ZPV4RzG4M - timissimit, on 12/30/2008, -3/+6Rolling Stone has really lost its touch. The majority of the videos listed fricken sucked! What about the video for The Youth by MGMT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EURZuzHyWb0 , now that's an interesting music video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52lTUG88sgQ - mpgorans, on 12/30/2008, -2/+5seriously, "The Radioheads". facepalm
- indubitably, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4It's similar to being out on your own with no direction home. Like a complete unknown.
- bipolarruledout, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4There are a lot of obscure social networks focused around music that tend to catalog music videos.... these days the majority of music videos made never see a TV network.
- tacoshitz, on 12/30/2008, -2/+5No jizz in my pants?
- CaviMike, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4Gnarls Barkley has my vote.
- Bilbobaggins, on 12/30/2008, -2/+5Well actually this is readers' rock list. Which means the readers of Rolling Stone voted on it.

I mean, a lot of successful musicians are douches, but no one cares. You just gotta separate the celebrity from the musician. - brownsound00, on 12/30/2008, -1/+3Hotspot shield. download it... no more of that geographical limit *****.
- Eavesdropping, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2How long before Kanye Best announces he should have been #1? An hour or so?
- gijoe86, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Damn...For a second there I thought I wasn't the only one on digg who was a fan.
- jeffjenn, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Isn't this the same magazine that, in 1968 or 69, said Led Zeppelin was a horrible new band that would never amount to anything?
- Shakermaker, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Wow! Oasis at 13! Well done Rolling Stone!
TSOTL was one great music video. - zosoIV, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2It's a shame most of the music videos and the bands that put them out in the mainstream these days are GARBAGE.
Now, I do enjoy Weezer and Radiohead, but most of this ***** is just so damn pretentious, and plain annoying. What happened to playing your instrument with unbelievable skill? - KingGorilla, on 12/30/2008, -1/+3Sharks?
