- sfrench, on 05/07/2008, -0/+17why yes, I'm totally interested in burying your comment spam. thanks!
- loobis, on 05/07/2008, -1/+18ummm...this list sucks without Revenge of The Nerds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkzAJs7NutM
(not a Rick Roll) - plizard, on 05/07/2008, -1/+15damn it feels good to be a gangsta
- suranwrap, on 05/07/2008, -2/+15What? No Prodigy - Voodoo People from Hackers?
List is lame. - NeoCortex, on 05/07/2008, -0/+12If I had to choose a Matrix song, I probably would have gone with the Propellerhead song from the lobby scene.
- praveenmarkandu, on 05/07/2008, -0/+10my heart leaps a little bit when i see optimus prime rolling out to kick some decepticon ass to the sound of "The Touch"
- WCL23, on 05/07/2008, -0/+9Lack of actually reading the article = epoch fail
- timfitz99, on 05/07/2008, -0/+9No FLASH GORDON theme?!
- inactive, on 05/07/2008, -1/+9oh, he put monster squad on the list, automatic digg. and on top of that throwing in the ghostbusters theme. ***** eh.
- mk2cav, on 05/07/2008, -1/+9Weird Science should have been on the list.
- bRUTALkANOODLE, on 05/07/2008, -2/+9#1: Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta
#2: Die, *****, Die - Asvetic, on 05/07/2008, -0/+5Wolfman's Got NARDS!!!
- wizbor, on 05/07/2008, -0/+4Agreed, Title says "geek" movies, the whole freak'n sound track from hackers is good
- centran, on 05/07/2008, -0/+4Duel of Fates has to be the best thing that came out of the first movie. Man that is such a great song. How does John Williams keep doing it!
I wonder if people will still be listening to his music in 200 years. - namelessXsilent, on 05/07/2008, -0/+4Requiem for a dream was the movie the song was made for, then remixed for LOTR. its called Lux Aeterna
- haylel, on 05/07/2008, -1/+6because it should have been #1
- goeatsmsht, on 05/07/2008, -0/+4Autobots, transform and ROLL OUT!"
- leerayIG88, on 05/07/2008, -2/+6And the "weird science" song IMO best song ever.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3_n0B1EaOY - weareglass, on 05/07/2008, -1/+5Come on, this list is really lame. Picking the awful saxophone tune from Lost Boys instead of Echo & the Bunnymen covering the Doors or Cry Little Sister? Given the hair metal version of Transformers is great but the GI Joe movie theme is an abomination (and somehow ranked higher?). What about Vangelis' Blade Runner score? Any of Walter/Wendy Carlos' work on Clockwork Orange? What about all the ridiculous goblin songs etc. from the Hobbit?
I love the concept but this is an epic fail. Most of these songs are unbearable and "geek movies" are full of amazing soundtrack work. Please try again. - loobis, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3You summamabitch. I was like "Yeah! forgot about that song." Well played.
- insanecee, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3gee... it sounded funny in my head.... damn you niko
- egamipeaks, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3That is probably my favorite part of the movie. I think I probably watched Monster Squad once a day as a lad.
- Drehmini, on 05/07/2008, -1/+4haha I agree they should have at least mentioned Vanilla Ice Go Ninja!
- nerdvernacular, on 05/07/2008, -1/+4Double soundtrack bonus- Hackers and Mortal Kombat
- midejitsu, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3I agree! Sure, John Williams was at #6 and at #1, but that really doesn’t count, does it? Instant fail unless all 11 songs are John Williams. That must be what you mean, mustn’t it?
- skadd, on 05/07/2008, -1/+4Kill Bill is not a geek movie..
- Zippo, on 05/07/2008, -1/+4YOU'VE GOT THE TOUCH
YOU'VE GOT THE POWWEEEEEEER!
YEAH! - nerdvernacular, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3Dugg for The Touch, Monster Squad and GI-Joe.
I saw Stan Bush perform "The Touch" live at a Transformers convention back in '97. - Zippo, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2NeoCortex is right... the Propellerhead's "Spybreak" was much more popular and iconic of the Matrix.
- Stoppay, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2/agreed a movie about geeks with a sick geek song in it not on the list? Boo this Man
- edwardmluk, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3Similarly...Where's the Pi OST? I personally enjoy this more than RFAD.
- bobalien, on 05/13/2008, -0/+2exactly
- toxicityj, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3dugg for yub yub
- Impeller, on 05/07/2008, -5/+7Holy crap, batdance? This better be a ***** joke...
- HomelessBrian, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3I am surprised The Prodigy is not in this list at all. They have been featured some of the great geek movies. (Hackers, and The Matrix for example.)
- SPThom, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2"Doubleback"... Gotta love the old-west fiddle version too!
- TomSawyer, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2Liberace would have been more apropos to Hackers' soundtrack.
- Yoness, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2I agree, 'Duel of Fates' was the best music to come out of all 3 prequels. The soundtracks to the first Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back however, are complete works of art from start to finish. They stand alone as classical masterpieces and will be thought of the way we think of Beethoven's 9th in a couple of hundred years from now.
- greeniemeani, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2John Williams doesn't write "songs" for movies. He writes the scores.
- blacksteve0, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2Worst list EVER.
/buried - Tyrghast, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3nothing by taking back sunday counts. you should have your balls removed for suggesting such.
- Phoenixfury, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3I think Together In Electric Dreams deserves an honorable mention. However I doubt that most of you are even familiar with the movie Electric Dreams. This movie in my opinion was way ahead of it's time and in my opinion is the ideal movie that deserves to be remade. Together in Electric Dreams is a very upbeat feel good song I think would have been popular had the movie been popular as well. Well anyway here's a Wikipedia link explaining the movie..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_Dreams_(film ...
And for the song, just go to YouTube and search Electric Dreams and choose the first one which is performed by Philp Oakley. - CaptainHarlock, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2Run Lola Run
Ghost In The Shell (1st movie) - CJM32, on 05/07/2008, -2/+3Into the West!!!!!!!! oh come on
- Phoenixfury, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Oh and while you check out the Philip Oakley video, also check out Electric Dreams Duet. How could you not love a crazy computer (circa 1984) playing a duet with a beautiful woman who's playing a cello?
- moletimer, on 05/07/2008, -1/+2Dugg for 'Wake Up' by Rage Against the Machine. That song is awesome.
- jcra1n, on 05/07/2008, -1/+2"Big Bad Wolf" from Teen Wolf anyone?
- Yoness, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1I think that's the best scene in the movie...
