- cheezintern, on 02/11/2009, -1/+8This technology was available 10 years ago, maybe more. Due to the lame restrictions of the RIAA no company has been able to develop a mainstream product.

PS: ***** BABYMAN - MaverickAlex, on 02/11/2009, -1/+3To listen to music on different systems just use the new pulseaudio framework (included in Ubuntu, and has been ported to windows) to move your audio streams between any computer in the house.
If I am listening to music on the laptop in the bedroom and then want to listen to the same music in the living room, all you have to do is right click the icon and type in a new computer name. - 6oo63D, on 02/11/2009, -2/+4*****

whole home audio = crap - mfc5200, on 02/11/2009, -3/+4Alright everyone, please stop pirating and buy the music now. You don't really have excuses. Let's give them an excuse to make movies DRM free as well. I'm personally sick of torrents at this point, and want something that is faster/more reliable.
- fuse13, on 02/11/2009, -1/+2I have a library of music on my computer. I run a media server on that and use my ps3 as a media client. The PS3 is hooked up to the one set of good speakers I have that I also use for watching TV and movies.
I havent got music following me wherever I go, but being able to stream my music to my central system is awesome. Sadly, DRM music I have (such as lots of my old Itunes stuff) doesnt work on this system and for that reason i wont buy anything now that has DRM which will stop me from flexibly using my music as i choose across my systems. I am quite prepared to spend money on music and do so, but I have effectively been punished for doing the right thing.
Ironically, the music do I have that comes from "unofficial" sources provides a much better and more flexible service. What the hell am I paying for then? - everlast88, on 02/11/2009, -3/+3dugg out of spite for anti-MrBabyMan noobs
- yerdaddy, on 02/11/2009, -1/+1diyaudio.com, because nobody else makes it right.
- cheezintern, on 02/11/2009, -1/+1ha, right behind you.
Actually I'll copy movies and music to my liking and if the companies that simply distribute these items decide to offer a product that isn't overpriced and loaded with restrictions than maybe I'll pay for it, but we're nowhere close...although music companies for one are finally starting to wake up, - tgc1, on 02/11/2009, -3/+2*Yawn*
- mbrannon, on 02/11/2009, -2/+1It may be a bit on the expensive end but compared to the other solutions, once you've used Sonos, you really can't go back. It is honestly that well put together and functional. (Rhapsody, Sirius, Napster, Pandora, Last.fm, etc.) It couldn't be simpler (and gives up no functionality while doing it) and that is the biggest compliment I can give about a piece of technology. I use three ZonePlayers in my house with one of their controllers and the iPhone controller.
- conversekid, on 02/11/2009, -2/+1As long as there's greed, there's always going to be a problem with the music you pay for. It would be nice if the record labels, movie makers, and gaming companies stopped treating customers like criminals.
- asgardshill, on 02/11/2009, -4/+1Dugg up because I hate those whiners too.
- inactive, on 02/10/2009, -8/+2Personally, when i'm listening to music, i like to stay in one room. I don't need it all over the house. Though I can see the benifits of being able to constantly have music playing wherever you go.
