youtube.com — The show/blog/documentary of a college student that takes his last financial aid check and starts in independent record label. With the way the music industry is heading, is this a good idea? With him using his financial aid check, is it even legal?

-its a good idea because its free (or as close to free as can be) money
-its a bad idea to choose a record label because the music industry is in utter shambles right now.
the good news is, anybody can get into the industry these days.
the bad news is, EVERYBODY IS getting into the industry these days, that means more competition than ever, in a market where more people than ever are now used to getting their products for free.
even if you can find a significant amount of people who are willing to shell out a buck for an MP3, its gonna take you lots and lots and lots of downloads before you get that first check from paypal my friends.
