- capthowdy1027, on 11/10/2009, -5/+45Amazing album. Completely love the ***** out of it. A band that kicks ass, and ain't affraid for people to hear the entire album for free. That's called faith in what you do. Kudos to TCV for this.
- oatdc, on 11/10/2009, -5/+30This is what supergroups should sound like. Some of the best rock n roll I have heard in the last decade or two.
- aalmeida259, on 11/10/2009, -5/+25I want that rock inside me.
- williamw83, on 11/10/2009, -3/+22Now this is how you market an album release.
- twiztidsinz, on 11/10/2009, -3/+20Except it's not... The band consists of:
Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age on guitar and vocals
Dave Grohl from The Foo Fighters/Nirvana on the drums
John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin playing bass
Real bunch of nobodies huh?
Go bother reddit, troll. - bigfatphony19, on 11/10/2009, -4/+20This album rocks ***** HARD.
I knew this would be an awesome combination.
They are ***** brilliant for putting the whole thing up in pretty high quality before it even comes out. I will absolutely be purchasing this album when it comes out. - spepin, on 11/10/2009, -1/+16Josh Homme and Dave Grohl are already so good together, adding JPJ to that lineup is even better.
Love it and I've been anxiously awaiting and watching ***** youtube clips of live shows. - SteveThePlank, on 11/10/2009, -6/+18Album of the year.
- Jaconius, on 11/10/2009, -4/+16Bear my children.
- williamw83, on 11/10/2009, -2/+13Dude, it's a supergroup consisting of Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age). I think at least some people know who they are.
- ThomasNewman1, on 11/10/2009, -5/+16I submitted this already, my bad for being overeager. I undugg the other one and dugg this one up.
The album rocks, I can't wait to hear the iTunes preorder exclusive stuff - Baronvontito1, on 11/10/2009, -1/+10The draw is that it's good music made by talented musicians from the three bands I mentioned (Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone age on guitar/vocals, Dave Grohl of Tthe Foo Fighters on drums and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin on Bass guitar) . But what kind of question is "People still listen to Led Zeppelin?" That's like asking "People still eat pizza?". Yes they do, because it's still ***** delicious.
- PostmodernMan, on 11/10/2009, -2/+10I'm sensing elitism here. Perhaps you should take it elsewhere. If you don't like the music then kindly move along and continue to listen to your 'black metal'.
- PoopTart, on 11/10/2009, -3/+11All I wanna do is have my mind erased!
- frieddonuts, on 11/10/2009, -4/+12Supergroups tend to sound overly polished and often are dominated by one of the bandmembers, but I feel like this is an awesome balance between grunge and 70s blues-rock. Wasn't expecting much but this is really awesome- I might actually preorder I'm so impressed!
- TheSuperunknown, on 11/10/2009, -2/+9You're not elitist, you're what's referred to colloquially as a ***** tool.
- Baronvontito1, on 11/10/2009, -0/+7I've loved Josh Homme's stuff all the way back to Kyuss. A great musician, in my opinion.
- drewbudd, on 11/10/2009, -0/+7If you don't like Queens of the Stone Age, you probably won't like Them Crooked Vultures.
If you do like Queens of the Stone Age, you probably will like Them Crooked Vultures.
It's obviously not for everyone, since we all have different tastes. I'm about halfway through and I'm liking it. But then again, I love basically everything Josh Homme does. - moo113, on 11/10/2009, -2/+8Well, guess I'm buying a CD next week. Because damn, I'm loving this.
- aquapete, on 11/10/2009, -4/+10maybe to kanye west fans.
- dralezero, on 11/10/2009, -0/+6Stream The Full "Them Crooked Vultures" Album ... thar
- aquapete, on 11/10/2009, -3/+8i think i just became pregnant and that is physically impossible for me.
- MasterBeef, on 11/10/2009, -6/+11Album of the year for sure. Never have I been this excited to hear new music.
- BrianTerrel, on 11/10/2009, -0/+5Since when is "risk taking" the mark of quality? I'd rather listen to a band that knows what it does and does it well than a bunch of jackasses "taking risks".
- hdberk, on 11/10/2009, -3/+8I love everyone in this band (I'm a huge zep head) but have only heard a little of the group. As soon as I saw that they posted this online for free, I immediately preordered it on Amazon. I totally respect bands that do this and will always support them.
- MaTT2011, on 11/10/2009, -3/+8HOW DARE YOU.
- kinseyincanada, on 11/10/2009, -0/+5holy crap thats the band?! never heard of them forming a group before thats ***** amaizng.
- nklepper, on 11/10/2009, -4/+8Nice! Glad this has hit the front page!
- Tyrghast, on 11/10/2009, -0/+4Hardly. Slipknot and ICP aren't even music. They belong in the same vile pile as MSI and other ***** metal.
- diggitalism, on 11/10/2009, -0/+3Nickelback sucks.
- mone5681, on 11/10/2009, -0/+3I will only listen to anything Dave Grohl is on.
- Baronvontito1, on 11/10/2009, -3/+6Three incredibly talented musicians. No surprise that this album seriously rocks. Good *****, glad this made it to the front page.
- BrianTerrel, on 11/10/2009, -1/+4Not liking things other people like makes you so much better than them!
- Baronvontito1, on 11/10/2009, -2/+5Lets see... Do you like Led Zeppelin, The Foo Fighters, or the Queens of the Stone Age?
- diggitalism, on 11/10/2009, -6/+9Honestly. Really ***** amazing rock here. I just creamed my pants.
- cJw314, on 11/10/2009, -0/+3LOL; you're inferring these three AREN'T making good enough music to sell it?
I fear you're completely alone in that sentiment. - PostmodernMan, on 11/10/2009, -1/+4I skim comments too often, so I missed that bit of info. If you're into hard-rock with a bit of blues interlaced then this is for you. Apparently your taste in music has no room for such.
- cJw314, on 11/10/2009, -2/+5Well, yeah, but no accounting for taste from someone whose name is algae turd. -.-
- Nerolus, on 11/10/2009, -0/+3QOTSA was really great rock. Try listening to some of their other songs besides the radio-played ones.
I'm no fan of GnR either. But the fact you outright said "GUNS AND ROSES SUCKED" proves you to be a tool. That's your opinion. They didn't suck, you just didn't like their music (neither did I personally). That's fine - but you've got to admit they did not suck if you want to be taken seriously. They were all really talented and made some amazing songs that certain people like. - Ramenamen, on 11/10/2009, -1/+4Because it's goddamn good.
- twiztidsinz, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2I only heard about them fairly recently myself...
In my opinion, it sounds like it's a better lineup than it is. Not to say it's bad, but the song "New Fang" just doesn't really stand out for me. Maybe some of their other songs are better, but I'm not in a real rush to take a listen at the moment. - awuwish, on 11/10/2009, -3/+5Dugg, dugg, and more dugg. Outstanding sounding album from an even more outstanding group of musicians.
- Nerolus, on 11/10/2009, -1/+3They're over in the dollar bin with the rest of your ***** music taste. GTFO.
- heavyj1970, on 11/10/2009, -3/+5you can feel that zepplin vibe, it's cool
- HomelessDave, on 11/10/2009, -2/+4I saw TCV at the sound academy in Toronto...completely blew my ***** mind. Can not wait for this album.
- Coffeedemon, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2You're just as bad as the people gushing over this like it is the best thing since sliced bread. Seems you and newchap are just taking the contrarian viewpoint to sound all elitist over what is good and not good (without ever offering an alternative).
For radio friendly rock this is pretty damn awesome and I'm glad they decided to put out an album. Album of the year? We'll see... Haven't heard it all but I doubt it can top Crack the Skye.
Wish Homme would go back to some Kyuss style stuff though... - Nerolus, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2"fidve" bars, 50 fans, spam digg with paid digg accounts? What ***** planet do you live on, sir?
- williamw83, on 11/10/2009, -1/+3Yup. That's marketing these days.
- Tyrghast, on 11/10/2009, -1/+2You can't understand why someone would dislike generic, gutter rock? Every Nirvana song is the same, self-loathing and pathetic, while the foo fighters are as boring as creed, nickelback and every other alt rock band from late 90's to early 2000's (not to mention their latest cash grab is as bland and uninspired as the rest of the of pop music industry, the next time i hear "IVE GOT ANOTHER CONFESSION TO MAKE" i'm going to shoot my radio).
- Coffeedemon, on 11/10/2009, -0/+1If Disney is going to repackage the minipops by unleashing stuff like the Jonas Bros, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift on the kids then someone else is going to cash in by repackaging older classic styled rock for the teens and youth markets. Sure it is safe and fairly predictable but it could always be worse. There will always be some genres that specialize in "risky" music while standard rock, pop and country turn inward and cannibalize old ideas every 20-odd years or so. Expect some of the better rock bands of the 2000s to be "re-engineered" in 25 years when we're all old.
