- demonbaby, on 11/27/2007, -0/+64For those not familiar with what this site is all about... It allows anyone, for free, to:
- Download original multitrack audio source files for NIN songs, remix them to your heart's content, and share them with the world.
- Listen to thousands of fan-made and official mixes, rate them, discuss them, create custom playlists, share the playlists with other people.
- Download any song on the site as a full quality MP3.
- Subscribe to any playlist as a podcast, automatically delivering full quality MP3s to your iTunes or other music program.
This means you can login, create a custom playlist of mixes you like, pull the feed of your playlist into iTunes, and burn a CD of it in mere minutes. Or you can subscribe to the "newest mixes" playlist, sync it to your iPod, and go to work every day with dozens of new tracks to listen to. No DRM, no restrictions, all in the name of supporting and endorsing user-generated content. Prince could learn a thing or two from this approach... - Kethinov, on 11/27/2007, -5/+32Don't forget http://ninremixes.com while all you kids are playing with Trent's spiffy new official Flash-site version of what we at ninremixes.com have been doing for 3+ years. ;)
Among the nifty unreleased remixed by NIN available on that site and multitrack sources from Saul Williams, definitely check out the nifty "Attributes" feature and the associated sort by attributes feature. Some real potential there. - PittPanthersFan, on 11/27/2007, -0/+24My God, this is brilliant! Trent Reznor, the most fan-friendly musician on the face of the Earth.
- descentgr, on 11/27/2007, -0/+19it's awesome how quickly this turned into a bustling community. a remix i submitted just a couple hours ago already has 70 listens and 4 ratings
- cunnybungler, on 11/27/2007, -1/+18Hey neat. You can download 15 years worth of official remixes for free.
- DeadSociety, on 11/27/2007, -0/+16PURE SEX.
- TheCosmicFool, on 11/27/2007, -0/+13In other news, I have a new homepage..
Sorry Google :'( - hiabex, on 11/27/2007, -0/+13It's on days like this that I'm reminded why being a NIN fan is being into one of the coolest, forward thinking, innovative musicians alive today. I can't think of anyone else that has the drive and ability to shake things up like Trent Reznor does.
- fragile00, on 11/27/2007, -1/+9Now doesn't that make you feel... better?
- Majician, on 11/27/2007, -0/+7Now all we need to do is pester him to re-re-release all his music videos on DVD!!!!
- jorgenmz, on 11/27/2007, -0/+7Genetic algorythms. The remixers are the mutation operators, the listeners are the fitness function. Awesome.
- dafragsta, on 11/27/2007, -5/+10I guess he's biting the hand that feeds but it remains to be seen if he'll chew until it bleeds.
- cameraman, on 11/27/2007, -0/+5I've been listing to it all day! Its ***** great!
- rezzy333, on 11/27/2007, -0/+5good site. ninremixes.com has been ok these few years, but this site makes remixing his tracks exciting again.
- iamthejeff, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4I laughed.
- FreDre, on 11/27/2007, -2/+6The site is pretty slow and buggy, but it's cool
Look at Trent Reznor's avatar.
Awwww - acroyear2, on 11/28/2007, -0/+4??
- nanzs, on 11/27/2007, -1/+5Wow, what a big risk he's taking. The man's got some huge cojones. You've got to give him that.
- BSDaemon, on 11/28/2007, -1/+5Like what, backstreet boys?
- DJNodi, on 11/28/2007, -0/+4I am not gay... but I could ***** Trent Reznor.
- DeadSociety, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Thank you Rob.
Theres a lot of us getting a great amount of enjoyment out of this. - imbetterthanu, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Aha. So that's why the site slowed down a little...this was submitted to Digg. I've been playing with the beta site since Friday and having a blast. Thankfully they fixed the "Banged and Blown Through" raw files download link. I'm having fun messing with that track.
- matthewrex, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Very excited about this. I'm glad Trent is making waves, it definitely fits him. Can't wait to hear some of these mixes, and do my own. I wish we'd get raw files from other albums, too! Bring on PHM + Fragile master recordings!
- sc0ttius, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3They really pulled this site off well... Although a bit sluggish (probably because I'm at work), it's a easy to use and original interface. I need to dig up my remix of the wretched I did a few years back.
- iamthejeff, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3They aren't available for download. I think maybe 1 or 2 songs from the fragile were released years and years ago, but you'd have a hard time finding them now. As for Closer, it could have been taken from the 5.1 surround mix of The Downward Spiral. Not official multi-track files, but still better than trying to pull the vocals out of a stereo mix.
- dafragsta, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3The poster quoted directly from Trent's blog update.
- bat-21, on 11/27/2007, -1/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUoLmChTXF4
- eightmotives, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3This site is amazing! I am literally going to listen to every track on this site!
- SgtCrispy, on 11/28/2007, -0/+2Power to the people!!!!
- Hamsterpotpies, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Sweet! Go Trent!!!
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Digg effect ftl
- slashpslayer, on 11/28/2007, -0/+2This is so ***** great.
- NDzImpy, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Way to go Trent, keep up the good work. Waiting for more releases!
- DeadSociety, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Chances are you are'nt having a real problem, the mp3's don't download the usual way though.
Just log in and click download mp3. Then Choose where to download it and wait, where it said "download mp3" it should say "downloading" and then eventually "finished".
A separate dialog bow with a percentage won't pop up as it would normally though. - inactive, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3Where are people getting the tracks from older NIN songs?
I heard a few fan made remixes of Closer and some stuff from The Fragile, but can't seem to find the multi-track download for em anywhere. - nihilite, on 11/28/2007, -1/+3that's what i want to know. all of it. now. tell me.
- abandonedhero, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Go to NiN's website and read the first posting. Then you'll understand.
- Namesbond, on 11/29/2007, -0/+2You are a dip *****.
- iamthejeff, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Turn your brightness up. It looks fine on a properly calibrated monitor.
- rarson, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Seriously, I've been waiting for a DVD version of Closure for forever now. I don't even know where one of my tapes are, but it doesn't matter anyway since I don't even own a VCR anymore.
Of course, I'm sure it's not his fault. Some stupid label thing, no doubt. - indojunk92, on 02/03/2008, -0/+1i am gay and oh yes i would ***** him like an animal. he would put me closer to god.
- ittlemoe69, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1thank you trent. this is wonderful. was enjoying the beta but now it's open to the world! groundbreaking ***** and we all support you! thank you for fighting the system and winning.
- schlaf420, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1this is really ***** rad. such an awesome idea. trent is a pioneer in this ***** up industry.
- Jeph0112358, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Super cool!
- nihilite, on 12/01/2007, -0/+1yep. and Closer he stole from Iggy Pop (nightclubbing). and Lost Souls is a Joy Division remake. sfw.
Trent >= God. - BSDaemon, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Source?
What an idiotic comment... - schlaf420, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1noone mind this *****. he's just trying to stir the *****. if you cant see that then ***** it.
- BSDaemon, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1I did too... and I don't know why. haha
- BSDaemon, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Stop using that old junk monitor from 1996 then.
- paradoxxxx, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Not very friendly in firefox on ubuntu for me either.
