- merlin484, on 08/21/2008, -3/+63LEAVE SHERYL ALONE!!! *sobs*
- crazyjake, on 08/21/2008, -11/+67..... and nobody wants it
- DismantleRepair, on 08/21/2008, -11/+55Headline should say "Sheryl Crow seeks to become relevant again"
- ScottMcIntyre, on 08/21/2008, -15/+59I wonder if this is because she can't sell her stuff these days? Marketing ploy, maybe...
- locamama, on 08/21/2008, -24/+64You diggers are so mean. I think Sheryl Crow is fabulous and is trying to do something good here. Don't bury me. Just leave mean comments. I know you're good at that.
- MikeSetera, on 08/22/2008, -5/+38The Pirate Bay is giving away free music!!
- shauntacular, on 08/21/2008, -12/+30You know how I know you're gay? Cause you registered to vote to get a free Sheryl Crow CD.
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -3/+20There was healthy competition among artists to create art that was commercial and political at the same time.
- freehunter, on 08/22/2008, -1/+16My toilet broke last week, and I'm giving away all my excrement I've saved in this bucket. Don't let me hear one word from you, Danny.
- TripcodeMel, on 08/22/2008, -2/+17no YOUUUUUUUUUUU
- mavranos, on 08/22/2008, -0/+14This is a good thing. Like her music or not (I'm not a fan). Encouraging the apathetic youth to register to vote is a step in the right direction.
- slimkevi, on 08/22/2008, -0/+14her dumb what?
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -4/+16Her music is way better than Soulja Boys'.
Soulja Boy go eat a dick. - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -2/+13Come on, Sheryl Crow has some good stuff. I think its a pretty cool idea.
- Gutterpunk, on 08/22/2008, -0/+10HERESY!
How dare you call yourself a Digger and not bash Sheryl Crow for absolutely no reasons! - Aurash91, on 08/22/2008, -0/+8the song is about whacking off.
some people need to be removed from the gene pool. - Striss, on 08/22/2008, -2/+9It's funny how everybody cheers for free music when Radiohead and NIN give theirs away for free, but when it's somebody you don't like, it's suddenly a marketing ploy.
I'm not a fan of her at all, but the more free(ish) music, the better. Screw the RIAA and all those meatheads who are related to them. - DigSomeMore, on 08/21/2008, -1/+7This is what all musicians should do, make their money on tour!
- Crucible1001, on 08/22/2008, -0/+6Yoda you are not.
- girwen, on 08/21/2008, -4/+10I guess I can't qualify. Anybody who hasn't registered some time ago has been off my friends list.
- Nateon, on 08/22/2008, -2/+8I think Sheryl Crow is pretty talented. Her lead guitarist is also really good. You may not like her music, but at least respect the talent that is there. I dunno, maybe I have a different mindset about these things because I'm a musician, but I've never let my personal tastes get in the way of recognizing when a musician is talented rather than "garbage".
- Tyrghast, on 08/22/2008, -0/+5"So how were Katie Holmes *****?"
"Remember the Holocaust?"
"Yeah"
"Imagine the exact opposite" - Daniel591992, on 08/22/2008, -8/+13I love how people still complain that she is giving away free things. Wow.
- alihaq717, on 08/22/2008, -0/+5You know how I know you're gay? You tasted someone's dick.
- nblsavage, on 08/22/2008, -1/+6Amazing, someone is trying to encourage people to vote and all you can do is bitch. ***** imbeciles.
- DavidGX, on 08/22/2008, -6/+9Free music? On the internet?
How new and exciting!
Buried. - inactive, on 08/21/2008, -11/+15i had a lot of respect for Sheryl Crow...until she started dating Lance Armstrong. I felt the same way I felt when Katie Holmes married Tom Cruise...betrayed.
- bbqsalad, on 08/22/2008, -1/+5Agreed, Digg is mostly 13 year olds who like music to fit in their current circle of friends. So prepare to be dugg down to hell. I will join you,
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -4/+7Let me know when she starts giving away free blumpkins.
- seltaeb4, on 08/22/2008, -4/+7Given the whole "one-square-of-toilet-paper" thing, I hope she won't be offended if I don't accept it from her personally.
- Br3ach, on 08/22/2008, -3/+6That may be her next angle if this doesn't work
- jester55, on 08/22/2008, -1/+4I agree. Even FREE is too expensive for her music.
- Bob24, on 08/22/2008, -0/+3Yes I can but what's a torrnet?
- identitymatrix, on 08/22/2008, -0/+3There are way to many Digg users to possibly have any sort of common idea of 'good music'. I think the reason no one else has replied with an answer is because they also know this, and don't want to be buried into oblivion when they mention some bands than only 5% of the other digg users know or care about.
For example, I like ebm (electronic body music), synthpop, futurepop, dark wave, industrial, etc. My favorite artists right now would probably be: VNV Nation, Colony 5, Diary of Dreams, and KMFDM.
But I'm sure most of the people that read this comment will completely dislike this kind of music (or perhaps may have never even heard of it), and will understandably bury it in disagreement because all like completely different kinds of music. - drgirlfriend, on 08/22/2008, -1/+4You know how I know you're gay? You like Coldplay.
- OfNumbers, on 08/22/2008, -0/+3She was relevant?
- benologist, on 08/22/2008, -0/+3Music isn't free and won't be unless artists / their labels choose to release it as free. Since most of it costs money to produce.... good luck.
- cadmiumpaint, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3the rub is...the only people who actually care when an artist gives away free music, are people who pirate it 99.9999% of the time.
real fans, and people who have jobs and morals have no problem paying for things. - dronkmunk, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2This is why:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7s0P6R4Qtg
And don't leave a comment. As he mentions in the video, he ''works at youtube,'' meaning that he gets 15 cents a comment. - ISurfTooMuch, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2Let me see if I get this straight. Every time I read Digg, people are complaining about how apathetic all the sheeple out there are and how they should get engaged in the political process. Then, as soon as someone tries to do something to encourage that, all you can do is bash their music. You don't like Sheryl Crow? Fine, but at least acknowledge what she's trying to do. If I hear about an artist who I don't particularly care for who is doing something to encourage the legal distribution of free or reasonably-priced music online, I don't rip them a new one because I don't personally care for their music.
Do you go donate blood just so you can get the free cookies, soda, and t-shirt? No, you do it because it's the right thing to do. But these things are a way for the Red Cross or other sponsoring organization to thank you for coming down. But what if they're offering oatmeal-raisin cookies and Pepsi, and you prefer chocolate chip and Coke? And what if you wear a large t-shirt, and all they have left is medium? Do you throw what they've given you on the ground and stomp on it? I doubt it, at least not if you have any maturity. You either accept it and pass it along to someone who does want it, or you politely turn it down, but you sure as hell don't tell them that what they're offering you is *****. In the same way, if you don't want the album, that's fine, but don't spew venom on her for her effort.
It's called courtesy and maturity. Get some. - Millsee, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3again?
Well, at least it's finally at a price that it's worth. - ISurfTooMuch, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2Precisely. It's easy to sit there and bitch and moan. Doing something takes effort, like getting registered to vote, then actually leaving one's house to go to the polls.
- R75700, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2That sucks :(
- nblsavage, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2I will never slam anyone's taste in music. Hell, I'm in no position to, I've got the musical taste of ether a gay man or a teenage girl.
- OfNumbers, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2moistness huh?
- R75700, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2That sucks :(
- nblsavage, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3Something obscure that makes them think they are "edgy" no doubt.
- warkro, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3What do diggers think is good music?
