- alapoet, on 12/29/2008, -0/+20R.I.P., Delaney. Thanks for the music.
- inactive, on 12/29/2008, -0/+14I never knew he wrote "Let It Rain." The beautiful thing about music is that he has left us gifts we can remember him by.
- Popper, on 12/29/2008, -0/+7Good songwriters are not being replaced. This is horrible news. Also, pic is of Yo-Yo Ma, not Delaney Bramlett.
- tendonut, on 12/29/2008, -3/+9Heh, 69.
- bcardarella, on 12/29/2008, -1/+6Would it be any consolation to know that they're dead inside?
- babylonian, on 12/29/2008, -3/+8I can't think of any better age to die.
- nightsweat, on 12/29/2008, -0/+4The guy who writes the songs that make the whole world sing? The guy who writes the songs of love and special things?
Dude - he WRITES the songs. He writes THE songs. - fritzbrown, on 12/29/2008, -0/+4If you mean something other than posting lyrics to an ok go song that shares the same title... Then yes, I didn't see what you did there.
- haydesigner, on 12/29/2008, -0/+4Preferably, anything in the triple digits for me.
- turiya04, on 12/29/2008, -0/+4Shotgun ammunition are shells that fire multiple tiny pellets into the target and/or surrounding area.
- inactive, on 12/29/2008, -2/+6But I bet you can name three Nickleback songs...
- fritzbrown, on 12/29/2008, -0/+4Wrong song, try this:

- djtomorama, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3Now he gets to hang with Duane
- oldhick, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3Truly a sad moment for me... He will be greatly missed. I loved his work in Delaney & Bonnie.
- mohsenxp, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3***** you ssn697.
Just because someone hasn't heard of a songwriter doesn't mean they don't appreciate good music.
I've never heard of him either. - barfooz, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3As with everything else, pop song writing has been outsourced to Guangdong and there are currently 1000 underpaid Chinese laborers crafting the next Kelly Clarkson single. You could kill them all, but 1000 more would surface to take their place...
- vukeidorian, on 12/29/2008, -5/+8Never heard of him
- zoethebitch, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3This guy was involved in some great stuff.
Quoting from the Eric Clapton article on wikipedia:
"Clapton was tired of both the spotlight and the hype that had surrounded Cream and Blind Faith ... Clapton decided to step into the background for a time, touring as a sideman with the American group Delaney and Bonnie and Friends, who had been the support act for Blind Faith's U.S. tour ... Clapton became close friends with Delaney Bramlett, who encouraged him in his singing and writing. Using the Bramletts' backing group and an all-star cast of session players (including Leon Russell and Stephen Stills), Clapton recorded his first solo album during two brief tour hiatuses, fittingly named Eric Clapton. The album included the Bramlett composition, "Bottle Of Red Wine" and "Let It Rain". ... Clapton went with Delaney and Bonnie from the stage to the studio with the Dominos to record George Harrison's All Things Must Pass in spring 1970."
You're doing something right if you're on tour and Eric Clapton wants to join the band to play backup guitar.
Look for tracks from the album "Delaney and Bonnie on Tour with Eric Clapton." It was recorded live and has outstanding music. - inactive, on 12/29/2008, -2/+5So you know nothing of the history of music ("never heard of him") AND you ignore current pop crap? So why are you commenting on this man's death?
- norbiu, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3No.
- superflydugg, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3R.I.P.... Yo-Yo Ma??? wtf wrong pic dude.

- timbtwisted, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3Unfortunately I think that's a picture of yo-yo ma, not Mr. Bramlett.
- dracostimpy, on 12/29/2008, -0/+2Nor did you.
- mohsenxp, on 12/29/2008, -0/+2Sea lions. At random. Pick out words.
No humans involved. - haydesigner, on 12/29/2008, -0/+2Little know fact, but Barry did not, in fact, write that song.
(and please don't ask why I know that) - mohsenxp, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2fritzbrown gets the wins.

- LaZyLion, on 12/30/2008, -0/+169 dude!
er... wait, what?
OH! He was 69 years old! oooops. - SouthsideIrish, on 12/29/2008, -1/+2Delaney and Bonnie was one of the first groups I listened to when I was a kid in the late 60's and early 70's, who had a great revue and worked with everyone. Unfortunately they sucked on record, but they opened Blind Faith's tour in 70 and Clapton said of them, "For me, going on [with Blind Faith] after Delaney and Bonnie was really, really tough, because I thought they were miles better than us."
He was someone people would only know from the songs he wrote.
RIP - vukeidorian, on 12/29/2008, -2/+3Actually no
- laura0000, on 12/29/2008, -0/+1Sorry to hear Mr. Bramlett passed away you guys!
