Harvest Zeppelin (Zeppelin with Plant removal)
Lead-Based Zeppelin (with Chinese child worker frontman)
Led Zepoli (with mildly obese ex-Carny frontman)
LedZepPalin (with championship dog sledder and GOP runningmate's first Dude frontman Todd Palin) - clickfire, on 09/20/2008, -7/+59Zep without Plant is not Zep. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
- halfwayentropy, on 09/20/2008, -16/+50Rock stars forgetting about the fans....the song remains the same.
- bratterscain, on 09/21/2008, -0/+32Or maybe they're remembering themselves. Who says he has to do the same old ***** for the rest of his life? Or that it has to be this genre or that. Let people do as they will, I say, as long as they're not hurting anyone. Rock stars are not your servants.
- MrsRodted, on 09/21/2008, -1/+25Zep without Plant is like Queen without Mercury, you can try, but you will FAIL!! Like Mercury, Plant has a VERY distinctive voice that created what the band was about, if you remove it, you remove the heart, and a body without its heart is dead..
- NeoCortex, on 09/21/2008, -1/+26If Page and Plant didn't go by Led Zeppelin, then Page and Jones shouldn't either.
- inactive, on 09/21/2008, -0/+23I disagree, he has not forgot about the fans.
More then likely he wants the fans to remember them how they were in their heyday. Not what they've become now. But I believe Plant should do it. - RandomFruitBat, on 09/21/2008, -3/+24LED Zeppelin (with blinking light frontman)
- pmace, on 09/21/2008, -4/+19Zep without John Henry Bonham is not Zep.
- ddizzle, on 09/21/2008, -1/+16so maybe you can just avoid their live shows instead?
- PaulC, on 09/21/2008, -1/+14I'm as big a fan of Zeppelin as the next guy, but I think that at this point, Plant is the weakest link. His 60-year-old voice is nothing like it used to be. Plant is a legend and an icon, but I'd be interested in hearing a project that sounds like Zeppelin did in their heyday and not a subpar rehashing.
- DestroyingAngel, on 09/21/2008, -5/+14Hey guys, is The Sun... nothing else to explain.
- Ansible, on 09/21/2008, -1/+9If plant doesn't want to rehash the old days, then fine. He continues to explore new musical areas and collaborations instead of exploiting the past, and I can respect that. At least he's not a parody of himself, and maybe that's why he doesn't want to do it.
- urgeigh, on 09/21/2008, -0/+6Yeah, that's absolutely spot on.. I don't get why people are digging you down. Oh wait, yeah I do, fanboys. People who cannot stand to hear anything negative about something they like, even if it's true.
It happens, it's VERY rare that a singer can maintain the quality of their voice into their 50's and on. Think about how your grandparents voices sound, they didn't sound like that when they were in their 20's... - inactive, on 09/21/2008, -0/+6When I saw that new video he was in with Allison Kraus, I couldn't believe how horrible his voice sounded.
- inactive, on 09/21/2008, -1/+7Not likely. Their albums have remained in the top 100 ever since the 70s.
- bratterscain, on 09/21/2008, -0/+5Yeah, the fans made them rock stars but the rock stars made the fans great music. Is that not a fair trade? Music/art without freedom is not that anymore.
- psud0, on 09/20/2008, -6/+10Wh000t they spent all the money they earned through decades?
- LongLiveRock2, on 09/21/2008, -0/+4It's happened to the Beach Boys, The Doors, Monty Python (and the Rutles), The Supremes, G and R, Queen, when are they going to realize what "reunion" means?
- bundwallah, on 09/20/2008, -9/+13Sorry, but Zep without Plant is not Zep. Its Crep! Nothing to see on that tour.
- westyvw, on 09/21/2008, -0/+4Thats interesting, I would imagine they might have to. A few old timers around here kinda agree that Plant lost his ability to really belt out the notes around 1973. I can kinda see thier point, 1969 was such an awesome year for Led Zeppelin, they were so powerful and tight. Later, although I enjoy the live shows, Jimmy was drinking an awful lot and became sloppier, and Robert just didnt have the same power. It was fun though, and no doubt they were still writing great music. I wouldnt say he's awful, but Plants voice has certainly changed.
- Sozin, on 09/21/2008, -0/+4You could always get Andrew Stockdale from Wolfmother to sing. I mean, he basically wails just like Plant.
- vango, on 09/21/2008, -3/+7the only american worth considering is that black crowes dude that jimmy page played with almost ten years ago
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l7snOCeJnQ - eengineer, on 09/21/2008, -1/+5Go for it guys. I won' personally pay to see this show without plant, but I am sure it would be a good time. I am a bit too young to have seen Zep together, but my parents have and I can guarantee I will be at a show if Plant and Page are together
- replikhant, on 09/21/2008, -0/+4You NSync fans should not pride in your ignorance.
- adrenalmedulla9, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3Uhh, hey, what about JPJ? Jesus, is he underrated or what?
- 33PercentGod, on 09/21/2008, -7/+10I'm glad rock stars remember the fans.
You know, the ones who made you rock stars in the first place. - aethelberga, on 09/21/2008, -4/+7Don't get me wrong, I love Zep, but without Plant, it wouldn't be Zep. Maybe it's time for Page & Jones to realise that Plant has moved on and maybe they should too.
- Twelvevolts, on 09/21/2008, -1/+4Absolutely spot on.
- MrKite, on 09/22/2008, -0/+3You could say the same thing about Bonham. His drumming was so unique that you knew it was a zep song on the first beat of the bass drum.
If your father died, would you say that the rest of your family (i.e. mother, sister, brother) isn't really your family without your father? No. Your family would still go on. - GrubFisher, on 09/21/2008, -1/+4There is a particular singer who I'm VERY impressed with. Check this stuff out.

- TheSkinsFactory, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3He did a really good job. You know he was digging the fact that Page was right there. Kind of takes the whole cover thing to a new level.
- 4321234, on 09/21/2008, -1/+4Get a new singer, and compensate for lack of plantiness with more cowbell.
- dsmx, on 09/21/2008, -1/+4I smell an mtv reality TV show around the corner....
- vidiot2332, on 09/21/2008, -1/+3well no Plant and no Bonham that sucks, but still the closest chance i'll have at seeing Zeppelin
- Nerfatron, on 09/21/2008, -1/+3Yuk. "The Sun" on the front page of Digg. I'm going to vomit.
- moofasah, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2You know, if I've learned anything from jamming with my father and his old friends/bandmates its that it is the best feeling in the world to get together with the people who helped you become the musician you are in the first place. It isn't about moving on, they all had sticks up their asses for the longest time and the only center point for every reunion seems to have been Page. Page and Plant, and now Page and Jones. They've all played with other people before, and I'd dare Plant to say that he didn't have the time of his life leading up to the O2 show.
Now is the time. They teased the entire world in December, and on that night they shook it. He'll come around, and if not then I'd love to see Plant Jones and Bonham. - mackii, on 09/21/2008, -3/+5You can NOT replace Plant
- blackgrape, on 09/21/2008, -1/+3Plant hasn't got the chops these days anyway. Go with a replacement, it will probably sound better.
It wouldn't be Zep even WITH Plant, so might as well go out and have fun! Bring it on..... - funkytaco, on 09/22/2008, -0/+2Drummers can always be replaced.
- nemo001, on 09/21/2008, -1/+3I hope Robert changes his mind and does it for the fans. A Led Zeppelin reunion could fill stadiums.
- blacklilyninja, on 09/21/2008, -1/+3the guy had prior commitments. end of story
i do find it curious how he can't work around it.
and he's easily replacable ... Tortelvis would be amazing - samimnot, on 09/21/2008, -1/+3Plant: The voice
Page: The inspiration
Bonham: The soul
Jones: The unappreciated. Most people don’t realize he had a huge influence on Zep’s music. His bass groove with Bonham was as good as it gets, and his keyboard arrangements, made those songs what they’ve become.
Sounds to me like Plant would be a lot more interested if the other band members wanted to move into “today” with their music. As wonderful as it was hearing them play their music again at their 2007 reunion, a modern version (with backing guitar, keyboards, vocalists and arrangements) would be much more appealing. And I’m not talking about some ridiculous Rap grooves, etc…just a modern approach to their classics. I’m suggesting more a “refresh”…close enough to keep existing fans happy, but opening up their music to the current generation and what they’re used to hearing (both sonically and performance wise).
Of course ;-) this is just IMHO - LedZepAddict, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2While Plants voice is faltering, I read someone say Jack White sounds more like Plant that himself, you're totally right, it wouldn't be Led Zep.
They did the right thing when Bonham passed and they stopped, on the reunion his son took his spot, but going in a completely different direction by replacing Plant is pointless. Yet if they do I will go to their concerts, buy the CD's, etc =[ - Hatethedrake, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2"The Sun' is the stupidest paper ever full of complete bs to get "hockey/soccer moms" to pay money to read ***** ***** about celebrities so i doubt its true.
wow im *****, i wish i had a car or a ride someplace - inactive, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2Tell us what you want,
...
what you really really want. - adrenalmedulla9, on 09/21/2008, -3/+5Sorry mate, can't agree with you there. Ignoring the actual *music* of Led Zeppelin is kinda a ***** thing to do. Plant is great and all, but IMO, that's just a ridiculous statement.
- TheSkinsFactory, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2Video from 1969 Led Zep: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QANPvHCqsjY&feature ...
Just incredible how young they were. Plant's voice is so strong. Page spot on. Just a rare find. I was 3 when this was filmed. Man do i feel old :-) - p51d007, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2Why can't old rockers just fade away, and let us keep the memories we have?
