Storming the VIP section: Über-mëtäl.
Directing that energy to overthrowing lapdog president Uribe: Mëtäl as f***. - Gemfinder, on 03/08/2009, -3/+55Speaking as a veteran of the NWOBHM scene, Heavy metal and "VIP"…just…don't…seem…to go together. Privilege and classism is antithetical to everything the genre stands for.

- Killphibian, on 03/08/2009, -1/+31That's the very reason Bruce Dickinson said he didn't like Ozzfest:
"It was my usual love/hate relationship with corporate America," says Dickinson. "Ozzfest is a corporate rock event at which they sell the front 10-12 rows to corporate seats and not to kids. Most of the bands pay a lot of money to be on the Ozzfest, they get paid next to nothing. The whole way it's being portrayed as being some kind of altruistic holiday for all the bands is absolute nonsense, it's complete *****. Most of the bands are there because they paid to be there. That's the way it's run. We went out and we were like, 'Okay, why aren't there any people down the front?' Well, because it's restricted seating and because they don't have tickets. 'What?!' That's *****, so we said so. I said so every night. Some fat ***** with greasy hair sat eating his hamburger with 50 seats empty all around him. Where are all the kids? They're held behind the barrier and they can't get any closer, because that's the way the venue is run. That sucks."
I don't like to think of my favorite band as hypocrites, but this makes me ponder. - winter360, on 03/09/2009, -2/+32isn't 30 meters pretty far?
- optigrab, on 03/09/2009, -0/+25Run For Your Lives!!!

- twiztidsinz, on 03/09/2009, -2/+19You're not Motörhead.
You don't need excessive umlauts. - FecalHurler, on 03/09/2009, -1/+17Up the...Irons?
- fivenodes, on 03/09/2009, -1/+16Was it a Quiet Riot?
- coldkill3r, on 03/09/2009, -1/+15Did you seriously just diss Iron Maiden?
May Eddie have mercy on your soul. - RickScarf, on 03/09/2009, -0/+14I thought the same thing. It's almost 100 feet.
- BakedLeaf, on 03/08/2009, -1/+14That is so metal
- mattwalton56, on 03/09/2009, -1/+13No.
- rjshatz, on 03/09/2009, -1/+12Big deal, there are riots at Jonas Brothers concerts all the time.
Except... directed at the stage. - Twenty, on 03/09/2009, -2/+13They diiiied with their booots ooonnnn yes they diiiied...
- mattwalton56, on 03/09/2009, -0/+10No.

- aforsberg, on 03/09/2009, -1/+10And just what do you listen to? If you had done your research you'd know that Iron Maiden sounds considerably better live. I love that sound when an entire stadium sings the opening to Fear of the Dark.
- CivicTV, on 08/14/2009, -0/+8If you play drums at all, its not that fast.
- drmobutu, on 03/09/2009, -0/+8I saw Iron Maiden last summer, for free, with my buddy's corporate VIP pass. VIP parking, cheesy VIP buffet & restroom, VIP cocktail service...we abused them all! We had some of the best seats in the house, but were still probably 100 feet from the stage...the whole thing is scaled for massive arenas, so 100 feet is probably about right, for the box seats...
I can't imagine the crowd in Concord, CA, rioting, however...they were some of the most docile metal fans I have ever seen, it was some of the weakest parking lot pre-partying I have witnessed, at any metal show...still, though...there were a LOT of them, entire families, in some cases! I understand they are HUGE in South America... - replikhant, on 03/09/2009, -0/+8The nickelback fans have infiltrated the digg ranks.
- angryfirelord, on 03/09/2009, -3/+10Tell me why I had to be a powerslave
I don't wanna die, I'm a god, why can't I live on?
When the Life Giver dies, all around is laid waste.
And in my last hour,
I'm a slave to the power of death. - Spoomeister, on 03/09/2009, -0/+7If it's a typical Maiden concert, Bruce and the boys had nothing to worry about - any ***** who actually managed to get onstage would get squashed, lit on fire or both by a 150' tall animatronic Eddie.
- inactive, on 03/09/2009, -1/+8*ridiculously fast drumming*
- coldkill3r, on 03/09/2009, -0/+7If you don't think that Iron Maiden is still making good music:

- Bhatch514, on 03/09/2009, -1/+7What did I see? Could I believe? That what I saw
that night was real and not just fantasy - alnh, on 03/09/2009, -0/+6Damn now that I look at my comment I see that I sounded like a bit of a dick - and I didn't get the point/tone of your post at all. I'm sorry. (Is there any way to remove digg posts or do I just have to live with my dickyness?) Ouch!
- Qbryzan, on 03/09/2009, -3/+9So when they're waiting for the next attack,
They'd better stand, there's no turning back - Slashered, on 03/09/2009, -0/+6Update: 111 have been arrested - http://www.laht.com/article.asp?ArticleId=329272&a ...
According to the official police report, "Thirty-seven men and three women remain under arrest" and they will have to "assume the costs of the stoplights and traffic signs that they damaged without just cause." - acdcfanbill, on 03/09/2009, -0/+5I assume the VIP area here was some sort of backstage meet the band area and probably set up by people in Bogota.
- devilclown, on 03/09/2009, -0/+5Bogota -- Its the new Des Moines.
- Nervioso, on 03/09/2009, -6/+11Lat nite I was there, pretty ***** up, but kind of funny. The cops where too scared to even try to fight them. Anyway, Iron Maiden Kicks Ass.
- inactive, on 03/09/2009, -1/+5THE Bruce Dickinson?
- fuckingusername, on 03/09/2009, -2/+6the good ol days when music didn't suck

reflections of my warped mind staring back at me? - rheaume, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3Great band, and people, lets remember this is Bogota ok?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kmEbwnC2TI - resevil83, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3This article needs a video link of the riot... anyone?
- krasht, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3I saw Iron Maiden twice last year. In February at the Acer Arena in Sydney and in September at Poljud Stadium in Split, Croatia. Both shows were pretty frakin great. .
- jlebrech, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3Was the VIP section in "the hills" by any chance?
- drmobutu, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed it...and yet it was just an echo of my own glorious, misspent Heavy-Metal Parking Lot youth...
- alnh, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3You should have given that ticket to someone who deserved it!
- whiteboyrob, on 03/09/2009, -2/+5I'd like to think this is the advent of the METALOCALYPSE!
- tightscrummy, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3I took my family. There is no better entertainment for 3 year olds than a kick-ass metal show (as long as it's outdoors).
