- jarofclay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15"Erasure" isn't the next Radiohead album, its a Thom's solo album.
And I think he distributed it all over the internet a couple of weeks ago. :) - erichexagon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"We will only self distribute if it is done in the context of Radiohead," he said, adding that he initially dreaded telling his bandmates about the effort. "The best thing about it is that it will make Scott Tenorman cry."
- felyduw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Just a small correction. It's not called "Erasure" it's called "The Eraser".
- plkrtn, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13THIS IS NOT A RADIOHEAD ALBUM
Its Thom Yorke's solo project
Reported as inaccurate. - blacklilyninja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Thom Yorke....

i love you - PaulOwen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I've just heard "cymbal rush" and I'm impressed so far.
When music is this good, the Internet just becomes an early access medium - there is little doubt that I'm buying the album in electron or plastic form when it comes out.
I just wish other producers could *understand* this trueism.
Radiohead ROCKS MY WORLD. - ebescan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Let's get this straight; There is a Thom Yorke solo album coming out called "The Eraser" and while discussing that album, Thom mentions possible intentions for the next Radiohead album. The title speaks the truth, but the article is mainly about "The Eraser." On a side note, the album sounds cool and I can't wait to hear it. I like the electronic sounds Thom and Radiohead have produced in the past decade.
- dontbejack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You have to log in since it's owned by the Tribune Company.
- Stwo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Normally I would agree, but this is the greatest band in the world we are talking about. Glad to see Radiohead news up front. Keep it coming!!!
- vdxc, on 09/29/2008, -2/+5go and report the story if you don't like it. just stop complaining.
- Dujoducom, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I don't think anyone is talking about "The Eraser" here, in the interview the talk of self-releasing is about the next radiohead album, not "The Eraser"
- ProfessionalGun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, that would have been a truly awesome quote. I wish he would have said it.
- ArchibaldTuttle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Isn't this a solo album, not a Radiohead album?
- rbvmusic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The eraser isn't like Kid A. Kid A had a great selections of songs that wasn't ALL synth and mumblings like Eraser is.
- Dujoducom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I like radiohead but I'm still not sure what the hell is up with the digg algorithm. Stuff is getting to the front page REALLY fast now.
- cheifchuck0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Jesus, you spelled truism wrong and you used it inappropriately.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truism - ddotbach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's a cool radiohead interview with Thom and Johnny from the band. It's from a public radio show. It's cool to hear Thom speak. He's more happy go lucky that I expected. Johnny certainly is quiet but he's somewhat funny too.
http://libsyn.com/media/soundoponchicagopubradio/sooppodshow30.mp3 - Yez70, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Yea, Digg is being flooded lately - way too much is getting to the front page and RSS feed, far too fast. The average user can barely keep up with all the new categories, and we're missing out on important stuff if we don't refresh every 5 minutes.
I don't want a DIGG addiction, MMORPG's were bad enough. I just want decent news. - geekdreams, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you like Radiohead, I recommend downloading The Eraser from your favorite P2P network immediately, it's not far from the stuff Thom has been experimenting with since Kid A. There are also tons of live bootlegs available from Radiohead's summer tour (with new songs!) on etree.org:

I really hope the band decides to self-distribute next time around, or signs with a small indie label to help offset some of the costs. Either way, I'm excited. - dorxincandeland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I really love the album "the Bends" I have the others but don't really listen to them much.... street spirit (fade out) >*
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lp7 by radiohead is due out next year
the eraser is out in a few days.
i posted a story about a leak of the eraser awile ago,
its amazing. - Bloc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2especially seeing as the eraser is in a lot of shop's backrooms already. and its available for preorder everywhere. and its being released on XL records.
- Stwo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1if it sounds cool how can you not wait to hear it?
- Stwo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1listen to the sound opinions website and Thom specifically says although it is credited to only him, it is a collaboration between him and the band... he took many outtakes from old studio sessions and melded them together, looped them, etc.... that is why if you have listened to it already it still greatly resembles a Radiohead album....
- jasonmcaffee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sweet, I love Radiohead. I heard a couple of months ago that their next album was going to be a "jam" album, which seemed somewhat odd. Eraser is already available on SoulSeek!!!
- weshouldworry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you LOVE something so much then why not actually support the artist by buying it? cds are so cheap on amazon these days it seems like taking the piss a little bit.
yeah sure download random songs but why a WHOLE album from someone you RESPECT? - jarofclay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Since when do we have to login to LA Times?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Whats up with the digg algorithm is that evidently someone, somewhere, doesn't know the difference between "sandbox" and "production".
Come on guys, hire some professionals already, and pay them well. - godspeed1074, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is a thom yorke solo album. Its much like kid a, and is a far cry from the bends. If anyone is interested, it has been leaked for weeks on bittorrent
- geekee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1People distribute their own music all the time. It's called starting a record label. Hardly revolutionary.
- stevelucky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1if you liked kid a and amnesiac, you'll probably like the eraser. i think it sucks. the same old bleeps and blips and thom yorke mumbling that i've come to expect. and they used to be such a great band.
- ginjointjukebox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thank you, I was waiting for someone to point that out. If you listen to it it sounds a lot like one man making a Radiohead album. Lots of loops and such.
- Stwo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1if you listen to the interviews circulating around, Thom actually says it's "kind of" a Radiohead album.... which makes things even more interesting....
- synthfx, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1yes, and there's a torrent for it =)
http://torrentspy.com/torrent/783783/Thom_Yorke_The_Eraser_2006 - TeraByteTyrant, on 10/12/2007, -20/+5this is disgusting
7 diggs and front page?
What is Digg?
