- NexusOfNow, on 10/12/2007, -10/+294Since the RIAA doesn't like free advertisements for their songs, why don't people find some of the great music available by artists NOT affiliated with the RIAA and instead dance to THEIR songs? List the song/artist in the description, please! :)

- kyriakos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+67they might all be RIAA supporters digging him down
- bryant, on 10/12/2007, -1/+57Well then. Just for that I'm going to make a video of me dancing to music.
- tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+52RIAA Radar
What is RIAA Radar?
The RIAA Radar is a tool that music consumers can use to easily and instantly distinguish whether an album was released by a member of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
http://www.magnetbox.com/riaa/ - jeolmeun, on 10/12/2007, -4/+48Does this mean they're OK with putting music on videos without dancing?
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45I want Websters to start suing musicians who use the English language to create songs!
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42The riaa is starting be like the kid with no friends who tries to get back at you with very petty ***** acting like they have control. Pisses me right off.
- omnithought, on 10/12/2007, -0/+36If you work for the RIAA, I offer a coupon for a free kick in the nuts.
- JimXugle, on 10/12/2007, -4/+35Turmion Kätilöt is Finnish and pretty much completely Indie except for the pressing of their CDs.
Doubt that anyone's interested though.
If you dace badly, does it count as parody? - Sh0cker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28What's next? They gonna tell us that we can't listen to it if we don't have a license?
- panique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25I'm just glad these guys didn't invent masturbation.
- bentracy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23If they could find a way you know they would.
- greg9683, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23Apparently if you hum it on youtube, you'll get sued.
- Clbck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23Rage Against the Machine is with the RIAA? Whoa...
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23These people are just grasping at straws now..........what are they going to do next, sue us for humming a song or singing it in the shower?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23"Why are you digging this guy down? He is trying to show everyone there are alternatives to supporting big music!"
Cause they see a link and automatically assume its spam, people should really stop assuming and actually start reading. Ive seen this happen for awhile now and its as thouroughly annoying as the people who actually do submit spam links - expertninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Haven't they figured out that nobody gives a ***** what they say anymore?
- whizzbang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Maybe Oxford should sue Websters? For using all their words without permission? and changing the damn spellings from "s" to "z" just to be difficult!
- DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20"Rage Against the Machine is with the RIAA? Whoa.."
They're published by Sony. They've never "raged" against any machine, just cashed in on packaged rebellion. - nogster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20This is just a new low by the Record Industry...a new low.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20or, you know, making music people actually want to buy
- born, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19lol, this is just laughable. Like hearing a song on YouTube will suffice enough to make me not buy a CD.
The RIAA could be doing other things, like beating down on people selling bootleg CD's on the streets in NYC. - CircaSurvive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17I'm proud to work in the music industry and to say I have no ties and strive to not have ties to the RIAA. For reasons like this. ***** like this is a waste of time and money. Un-*****-believable!!
- skyhighrockets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17At least we'll still have the Numa Numa dance on youtube...
- sneakerelph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16make sure the music you put on there is pirated, too.
- pillfred, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17be sure to use your headphones.
- deut, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18You know, when I hear ***** like this it makes me even more determined to not buy any more CDs - EVER.
Since when, did free advertising ever hurt anyone? It's not like the quality on YouTube is good enough to even substitute fans wanting to get hold of the full song.
I bet you all a tenner that they will be going after the guitarists who do clips of famous solos and riffs next. - shortkid422, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Huge thanks man, never knew about that. Glad to know almost my entire music library has barely any RIAA affiliated labels.
- bentracy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14They are really getting out of hand.
- V1ncent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13OMG, I wonder if we're going to get Cease and Desist letters for the music in our heads...
- Chromoly, on 10/12/2007, -7/+20I'm not one to coment usualy, and rarely one to be the one who screams dupe. But ffs this topic was already a front page story today. It's still on page 2 http://digg.com/music/RIAA_challenges_YouTube_and_GoogleVideo_over_video_distribution
- jpt62089, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13digg should add "Screw you RIAA" to the report menu thing...
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I think they just got the idea that they can sue people for all of these copyright restrictions that are actually in place, but no person in their right mind actually follows them.
They want money. They're not making it on CD sales, and they're not content with the 70% cut they get from iTunes, so they want to pursue any person that is possibly violating any law in any way, shape or form.
I used to buy CDs from time to time, but now I've decided these ***** don't deserve it anyway, if they want to sue me for what I do with it when I get it home - RomieZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I dont know about that, I entered O-Zone into the riaa radar ( www.riaaradar.com ) and it came out with a positive saying that it is affliated with the RIAA.
- baltakatei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Cranky Malt Shop Owner:"No dancing! Not allowed!"
--MST3K: The Crawling Hand - bacon_skoda, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11you know that's how I copy music and not pay for them at the store. Almost have that whole Backstreet Boys collection.
- qbaler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9you're telling me we cant dance like fools to music, video tape it, and share it over the internet?
... what do they think the internet is for? - brickbat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"Next you wont be alowwed to sing along with a song!"
You're already not allowed. - radison2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Whoever runs the press department for the RIAA really needs to be fired. From suing 12 year olds to this. My goodness.

i mean damm... - panique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8In a related story, RIAA files suit against 150 A Capella groups for "copying musical works using their own voices".
( PS in case you need a clue: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Capella ) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Can't wait until I see the story that says the RIAA doesn't want you to have any fun whatsoever.
- pillfred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8that reminds me of itunes charging for silence (blank tracks).
- flatline01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7don't give them any ideas
- BurninatorX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Haha, its like that movie foot loose
How long is it going to be until you can't listen to a CD without headphones, of course the headphones have to be really really low so nobody who presses their head against yours chould hear it either. -
