- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+170Didn't Prince just put his album out on the internet for free? What the hell does he care? Plus, he's like 4'9".
- JiMiThInG, on 10/10/2007, -3/+125Gee what could I do to make myself more hated by internet users then Metallica....
- merdiesel, on 10/10/2007, -4/+122Yeah because everyone on the net is going nuts for Prince albums...
***** off you little mutant. - zappo1776, on 10/10/2007, -3/+65Yeah, if he was 6' I'd be worried.
- chris9902, on 10/10/2007, -3/+60He hired the wrong people. They've already ripped them a new one: http://static.thepiratebay.org/whitestripes_response.txt
- fant0m, on 10/10/2007, -4/+57He's going after the Pirate Bay? Don't tell me someone amongst us is actually downloading that crap!?
- ThinkBox, on 10/10/2007, -7/+57Here comes the WAAAHmbulance!
- MisterWonderful, on 10/10/2007, -2/+45He needs to purify himself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka
- sockpuppets, on 10/10/2007, -1/+37I'm suing the "I like turtles" kid. I liked turtles waaaay earlier than that punk ever did.
- perkonis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+37So Prince is going after both people who downloaded his stuff?
- dranire, on 10/10/2007, -3/+32Nothing you douche, it's part of the humor.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+27The worst part of Metallica was the hypocrisy. They were completely built from the ground up by a grass-roots fan base swapping their music (via cassette to cassette copy) and enjoying their concerts. It makes me wish that the RIAA had started a little earlier and stopped cassette to cassette copies and killed Metallica before they started.
- calgone, on 10/10/2007, -5/+27Quit purple raining on everyone's parade
- chase001, on 10/10/2007, -4/+24I think he wants to reclaim a career.
- Protoss, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21There are many great story tellers in our time, but you cannot make that ***** up.
- Goodbyeworld, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20and in all honesty, if the RIAA and MPAA cant take down piratebay, will prince be able to?
- homesickalien, on 10/10/2007, -7/+24Pfft...Angry midget.
- PleaseJustDie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17sweet, the legal page will finally get a new update!
- CaptainNoPants, on 10/10/2007, -6/+20Prince went out of style and popularity with the 80's. It's about time he followed flava flav and sold his soul to VH1
- ShoKill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12I destest Metallica for ruining the old Napster. Besides that, their newer ***** sucks ass.
- TransmitThis, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16Oh "Controversy"
Sounds like there's some "Thieves In The Temple" "La, La, La, He, He, Hee"
Probably wants to buy some "Diamonds And Pearls" or a "Little Red Corvette"
Internet downloading is just a "Sign 'o' The Times" he should stop feeling "So Blue" - bugsy187, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11I think they've already been rewarded greatly by their royalties. Suing fans and colleges is excessive.
- ThreeDee912, on 10/10/2007, -7/+17Maybe that was his whole plan. Put it on the internet, then sue everyone because it's all over the internet. Well, that still didn't make much sense...
- AdobeWan, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13"Peter Sunde, one of the cofounders of The Pirate Bay who goes by the online handle "brokep," said that he hasn't heard anything about Prince's lawsuit. He also said that The Pirate Bay likely receives take-down notices from Web Sheriffs but that the company's "spam filters take care" of them."
Gosh I love those Pirate Bay guys. - brjndr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10He'll still dunk on you. Charlie Murphy knows.
- sonycam, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11I can understand the pirate bay, and I can just about understand youtube, but when did ebay start distributing music illegally?
- slipgrid, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Is there an alt key code for Prince? That would be awesome.
This is it in ASCII:
O(+> - Scheissenegger, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9with that newspaper action he earned 500.000+ dollars (not kidding, newspaper paid him that), with youtube he isn't earning anything, only non-fans getting even more non-fan cause they see him doing strange things without being in the atmosphere, I mean, saw him in london a moth ago and it isn't comparable to a youtube thing....
- Augie1969, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8And make me some goddamn pancakes!
- wpong, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11purple rain > chocolate rain
- elusive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11Surprise! Prince is ***** insane. For proof I submit a Kevin Smith story:

http://www.milkandcookies.com/link/57201/detail/ (part2) - unlucky7s, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Holy crap that is funny... "Sodomize yourself with barbed wire"... LMAO!!!!!!!!!
- halavais, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11Me, me, me. That's Prince's mantra.
As a consumer, I *like* YouTube, and the product it provides. I *like* eBay. By doing this, Prince makes it harder for them to do business. And in the case of eBay, their legal expenses are reflected in what they will have to charge the customer.
This has nothing to do with the record industry. This has to do with Prince trying to make more money. So, I scream a big "SCREW YOU" at Prince. - eatsushi, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11*high pitched girly voice*
LEAVE PRINCE ALONE!! - TygerrTygerr, on 10/10/2007, -6/+13He's 5'2 according to Wikipedia. What he wants is for his work to be dealt with under his own terms. The fact that he gave his last album away for free is an indication of that fact.
I don't see how that is non-sensical and I would have thought that those who usually scream a "SCREW YOU" to the record industry and its penny-pinching patrons would appreciate an artist who clearly demonstrated it's not about getting as much money as possible for him.
But it doesn't really matter, pirates will contort anything into self-justification. Its easy to see how the comments will go. Me me me. - digghasnoethics, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7He put it out for free as a newspaper giveaway.
It was overpriced. - resprung, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I'll second elusive: This is a really funny Kevin Smith monologue -- Prince apparently has jesus in a big, big way, and hires Kevin post-Dogma to do a documentary... Kevin gets a taste of Prince's bizarro-world. Ultimately, the finished production is put into "The Vault", never to be seen, and Kev is dismissed with no so much as a thank you. Or would that be... Thank U.
- deskattire, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11older artists fail to recognize that this is a new era of music.... it will never be the same. Adapt or die.
I thought Prince *got it* when he did his last "free album" move, but now he's shown that he is a dinosaur, quickly becoming extinct from his lack of ability to adapt to a new environment. - Snakedal337, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9TPB already ripped Web Sheriff a new one once, guess they'll get to do it again.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Quite surprising since I thought prince hated the recording companies and 'people owning the air over your head' or whatever.
Then again everything I know about prince is from Kevin Smith :P
Makes me wonder if the record companies are forcing this on him for releasing the free album. - elusive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yeah...they were deleted. How about this?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=luzstJ91NZU - Pestilence, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5***** Prince
- norman619, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7How does going after The Pirate Bay equate to stopping pirates? It just points you to torrents you are looking for. It's not illegal for me to tell you where you can find what you are looking for. I can tell you where ***** is all day long. Whatever you do with that information is 100% up to you. Say you asked me where the nearest back was and I told you. you then go and rob than bank. Just for fun let's say you even killed a few people in the process. Am I in ANYWAY responsible for your actions? Hell no. Another example. Say you ask me where you can score some crack. I tell you and you then go and buy said crack. Let's go a step further and say you OD on said crack. Am I resp for your breaking the law and buying the drug? Am I resp for your OD? Again it's a HELL NO.
Copyright infringement isn't theft. There is a reason these cases are heard in CIVIL court and not criminal court. It only becomes criminal if you turn around and sell the copies you obtained or made. - binaryloop, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6"I fought the Net.... and the Net won. I fought the Net.... and the Net won."
- Toshibi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4It would be the puffy shirts versus the blouses!
- Goodbyeworld, on 10/10/2007, -10/+14he needs Al Gore's permission first
- hmmmok, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7he used to be TAFKAP!
- FurtThePirate, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I don't...
- Synn, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Does Prince still think he's relevant?
