- studiopenguin, on 07/02/2009, -0/+17You know, for a guy who said a Pixies reunion "can't be just playing our old songs over and over," Frank Black sure spends a lot of time talking the rest of the Pixies into playing their old songs over and over.
- lamejoketeller, on 07/02/2009, -1/+13all hail the founding fathers of indie and alternative
- inactive, on 07/02/2009, -2/+13Your music is ***** horrible.
Don't ever ***** on a legendary band like the Pixies ever again. - drisawesome, on 07/02/2009, -0/+9look, we all run out of money sometimes...
- Subduction, on 07/02/2009, -1/+9I'd like to find out if it's possible to get a restraining order that would keep you a hundred yards away from a stage or recording device.
I have to go take a Silkwood shower. - bakerac, on 07/02/2009, -1/+9That myspace page features some of the most derivative ***** I've had the misfortune of hearing in a long time.
- bigplrbear, on 07/02/2009, -0/+8Kurt Cobain himself said that Smells Like Teen Spirit was just a ripoff of Pixies' U-mass
- blatt, on 07/02/2009, -0/+8they are going all out for the box set.
- jaybol, on 07/02/2009, -0/+7Frank Black is the man...it was so cool to see their reunion live at Coachella in 2004... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhoUt9y-DHs&fea ...
- richirwin, on 07/02/2009, -0/+6Bob Mould and Grant Hart say "Hello."
- vurdillac, on 07/02/2009, -0/+6And no new material. Where is the fan who is willing to cough up that much money and doesn't already own these? Redundant copies on multiple formats is not a selling point. I'm a Pixies fan from way back, but I've heard all this stuff a thousand times. I'd rather just buy new Breeders or Frank Black releases.
- DeadlyNinja, on 07/02/2009, -1/+7Did you just say that a band with the work "funk" in the name is better than the Pixies?
- clownshoez, on 07/02/2009, -0/+6Always loved the Pixies because it was just about making new and innovative music. Look at any pictures from their hay day, and they were totally unconcerned with being hip or stylish.
There is no telling how much worse music these days would be had it not been for the Pixies... - boydrew, on 07/02/2009, -1/+7i don't think you understand the influence IN THE GUITAR WORLD that the Pixies have had.
- StigNordas, on 07/02/2009, -3/+9So awesome, they were way ahead of their time.
- etx313, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5Dugg for one of the best bands ever.
- inactive, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5they were almost dmcaudio, but they thought the pixies sounded a little more manly.
- solecize, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5All I know is- there were rumors he was into field-hockey players
- scalded, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5So I applied basically. I went out for the team.
- MikeyTwit, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5Damn! You beat me to Husker Du. Now, THEY were more the founding fathers of indie/alternative than the Pixies, who I do like. The Pixies just continued down Husker's path. Hell, Frank Black's ad to find members who would go on the form the Pixies stated he was into and looking for people into Husker Du. Love the Pixies though.
- kenhatesemos, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5umm ok, where's the rest of the set
- inactive, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5Ian Curtis says "Hello."
- mywhitenoise, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5They went all out with the price too. I was about to pull the trigger on the set....until I realized that after shipping and tax it would come out to $45 an album, ***** that.
- johnbonham1, on 07/02/2009, -1/+5really thats one of my favourite albums ever. whats not to love about it?
- boydrew, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4He has stated (Recently) he wants to record a new album... I, for one, cannot wait.

- boydrew, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4the one song sounds like a direct ripoff of INXS (namely "New Sensation" only with horrible playing, vocals and lyrics)
- bobburn1, on 07/02/2009, -1/+5Love Pixies, they're just fantastic.
- cnot3, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3no it isn't
- THELEECH, on 07/02/2009, -1/+4They still got it! One of the best bands of all time!
- feignNU, on 07/02/2009, -1/+4Ahhh...yeah I guess your priorities would be a little messed up in that case.
- ericthesalmon, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3Black Francis did a great track on Dark Night of The Soul, although it sounds more like Modest Mouse than Ye Olde Pixies to me. (You have Danger Mouse's tacit permission to pirate this album.)
- verynegative, on 07/03/2009, -0/+3Thanks for clarifying that. I've always liked the pixies, now I know why.
- belfastbiker2, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2That fat sweaty baldie Mr. Black looks like me, always has.
Lucky Bastard. :) - ElCheLikesAudi, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2I love the pixies but give some love to sonic youth too.
- cnot3, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2Their tour in Europe is going to be a tribute to Doolittle, which most Pixies fans will agree is their best album, so it may influence some of their new songs. If the new album is half as good as Doolittle, then it will kick ass.
- mywhitenoise, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2I saw their reunion at Freeborn Hall, the place is about the size of a high school gym :)
Bought an official CD of the live recording after the show too. - SirN03L, on 07/02/2009, -1/+3they need to go on tour
- WeirdEdsel, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2They are, but only in Europe.
- boydrew, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2500 for the vinyl set... a little pricey yes.
- cnot3, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2The Pixies ***** rock. I hope they decide to tour the states again when they finish up in Europe.
- alostreflection, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2kyle gass plays for the pixies?
- mywhitenoise, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2Doolittle > Bossanova > Trompe Le Monde > Surfer Rosa > Come On Pilgrim
- cnot3, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2Doolittle is the best album, Surfer Rosa is second place for me, but they are all great, really.
- studiopenguin, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2Frank Black talking to NME in 2009: "We'd have to finally get sick of playing the old repertoire and go, 'Alright, f--k it. Let's play new songs in our set,' but the only way we'd really want to do it is if it was really great."
Frank Black talking to Rolling Stone in 2004: "Maybe we'll get a little bored and try to record another a song or two just to have in our back pocket." "I think we're aware of the fact that the material would have to be creme de la creme."
I'd love to see it too, man, but there aren't enough grains of salt in a Morton's warehouse. - inactive, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2Kim Deal, please marry me.
Frank Black is fat. - RadiatedAnt, on 07/02/2009, -1/+3where is my mind, my velouria FTW!
- richirwin, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1Digging up Ian Curtis. Well played.
- Schmapdi, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1It is a bit of a shame that the box set is really aimed only at the most fanatical of fanatics.
But then if it only had 1-2 new tracks (like most box sets) everyone would just pirate those and not buy the set anyway.
If you're just a fan fan, then just buy the proper albums, plus the B-sides collection and you're pretty much set. - CultureBully, on 07/02/2009, -0/+110 days earlier he said "We haven’t really recorded anything much of anything new, nor do I know if we will, but yet there’s always this hope that we will."
How do you go from "maybe" to "definitely" in a few days?
