- j4rcher, on 02/19/2009, -21/+78Scumbags probably did it themselves, so they can try and use it against TPB in court.
Desperate much? - Yatti420, on 02/19/2009, -6/+48Only When The Pirate Bay Falls Should War Ever Be Declared Like This!...
The community is in one of the biggest trials ever.. It was probably script kiddies.. Who would be so silly as to risk screwing up the trial that has gone sooooOoooo well so far... - wollsmosh, on 02/19/2009, -3/+37it shouldn't really have any effect on the trial, since they can not be held responsible for it. I guess even judges are prone to be influenced by things they shouldn't be, subconciously or conciously, so it's probably a good idea for the PB crew to activly distance themselves from it.
I thought it was kinda funny, but encouraging lynchings is a bit out of line, even in gest. - kd420, on 02/19/2009, -3/+20TPB will be fine by itself. People think that they need help with their case, when it really is legally rock solid. Take the high road and let the IFPI try and charge them; TPB will win and with no underhanded/immature tactics.
- HAL90000, on 02/19/2009, -1/+16Even though he has not broken any laws?
How's about, ***** you. - Enigmaxx, on 02/19/2009, -2/+14Update to the post - IFPI.se, IFPI.org and IFPI.com all taken down, hackers believed responsible.
- iamghost, on 02/19/2009, -3/+15HACK THE PLANET!
- Treshnell, on 02/19/2009, -2/+11We support leaving the South Park flag unaltered. It's our history! Who's with us! ..oh..the KKK? We don't want YOUR support!
- gotflash, on 02/19/2009, -0/+8lol troll
- AmazingSteve, on 02/19/2009, -2/+10Which is the probable reason for TPB plea to hackers. That way they can completely wash their hands of it and the industry can go pound sand up it's collective ass if it wants to try and go in this direction.

Not that I approve what the hackers have done but MediaDefender is the RIAA's hired hack. - FredFredrickson, on 02/19/2009, -2/+8*jest
- 11oops, on 02/19/2009, -3/+8Now that's crazy talk. Act like adults? That's like telling people to pay for their music and movies.

- ccdoggy, on 02/19/2009, -2/+5They are all up now.
seems like someone listened to TPB's request. - Sogui, on 02/19/2009, -1/+4Yea because it's totally impossible that a bunch of angry people on the internet would take down a website to exact revenge.
Which one of our explanations has a long precedent? - theaceoffire, on 02/19/2009, -1/+4I pay for my movies.
Once.
I refuse to buy the same movie 10 times to watch it 10 times... and if you don't believe that this is where they are headed, look at the PSN video store.
I bought a move on there twice, once for my ps3 and once for a friend's ps3, and not only can I not download it to another console (Like all other content that *isn't* video), but I can't even redownload it to MY console if my hard drive gets upgraded or dies. I had to buy it again to get it on the new drive... and when that one died, I said ***** it.
I mean, I *WANT* to buy it legit. Its not like I don't have the ability to download every movie on the face of the earth, but I *WANT* to give my money to the guys who make the film...
***** like the guys who are prosecuting the pirate bay are the ones who make the legit way so draconion that Stealing is a better deal by a factor of 10. - robEstyles, on 02/19/2009, -0/+3100% tax times 0 is still 0

- ZekeSulastin, on 02/19/2009, -7/+10... orrrrrrrrr, they can act like mature people and let the websites be regardless of the conclusion of the trial. I know, it's difficult to comprehend these days ...

- inactive, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2well that would be illegal and if caught, the companies would be liable for millions of dollars in damages and fines and possibly jail time for those involved.
- inactive, on 02/19/2009, -2/+4I <3 TPB
- NJank, on 02/19/2009, -1/+3companies we work in are failing because of business models that fail to take into account a realistic portrayal of the market in which they compete. E.g., retailers who fail to maintain sufficient reserves to weather a downturn (or return to normalcy) in consumer spending habits, home builders who put up subdivisions faster than they can sell homes, automakers failing to shift focus to match current energy/environmental fads, even states that fail to account for the temporary nature of inflated real estate and corporate tax income on their budgets, etc., etc.

- mikemarino, on 02/19/2009, -2/+3I love BOMB THE MUSIC INDUSTRY!&*#@@@!
- Frostek, on 02/19/2009, -4/+5Hopefully, someone will track these people down and punish them for their crimes.
What - don't like that?
Well, the record companies may be scumbags, but don't tell me they couldn't hire some people in say, Russia, or similar parts of the the world to DDos TPB and take them offline. Since they haven't done that, people should grow up and act like adults for a bit. - Frostek, on 02/19/2009, -1/+2I think from the comments I've read on here, that many people would be stupid enough to do this if they were able to...
- Frixionburne, on 02/19/2009, -3/+4uhhh...
mininova, demonoid, isohunt.....
really? I thought everyone knew these sites by now. - doshindude, on 02/19/2009, -1/+2are you retarded? have you even been following the case? TPB has almost won it already in a matter of 4 days.
- dustincase, on 08/04/2009, -0/+1Cocaine is a helluva drug...
- blackpen2008, on 02/19/2009, -0/+1pics?
- regularklas, on 02/19/2009, -0/+1Yeah.. Can be true. Read in Swedish papers some days ago that the EU and the USA probably will put sanctions on Sweden if Pirate Bay don't get convicted.
- nepidae, on 02/19/2009, -1/+2What is their "cause"? Not saying they broke the law, but come on.
- MacHarborGuy, on 02/19/2009, -0/+1this is the one problem with pirates, pirates have no allegiances, and even if TPB goes away, pirates know that another will crop up eventually.
- Finalreminder, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1No I'm not retarded, I know how the system works.
No matter what evidence there is or how good TPB present their case they'll lose.
This is about big money and big corporations and they aint gonna lose against a group of nobodies.
You'll see... - Georgy, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1That's a load of BS and you know it
It has absolutely nothing to do with the entertainment industry.... - XmenArt, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1Attacking the industry just pisses them off and causes them to use all their resources to survive. Makes more sense to peaceably change things...kind of like what http://www.volumevote.com is doing.
- oliveriarocks, on 02/23/2009, -0/+0No real surprise to see folks pissed off, TPB is very popular.
But why steal music? Some bands give it away for free:
archive.org/details/oliveria2008-10-04.sbd.fostexd2424lv.flac16
For a long time the industry has ripped off the musicians and the listeners. If you go see a live bands, you are directly supporting them instead of a bunch of suits who think they know what you like more than you do. The music in the link might not be for everyone, but its nice loud Memphis Rock and Roll.
Remember, you affect their bottom line in the corporate boardroom, and they will have to change how they act. Personally, I am surrounded by so much music that I really dont need to spend my gas money on an overpriced CD that the artist wont even get a decent portion of.
Its ok to digg me down if you think I'm being a self serving dick for posting a link, but archive.org is free and I am proud of the work my friends Alvin Oliveria and Shannon Smith did on this recording (plus everyone else at TheFoolsBall.com).
Currently, I am adding more shows to archive.org for folks to have, share and jam out to forever. - cycleplus, on 02/19/2009, -0/+0Long live RAZOR 1911!!!
- writie, on 02/20/2009, -1/+1Eh? Can you give a link? I hadn't heard that, and frankly it sounds unusual. There were no sanctions against Ireland when it voted against the Lisbon Treaty.
- Larsalles, on 02/19/2009, -0/+0There is when I make it. If you know what I'm saying.
- Fustigations, on 02/19/2009, -0/+0hahahahaa That was the funniest movie ever.
- Abomonog, on 02/20/2009, -1/+1That all depends. If they have been corralled into a kangaroo court TPB will not win no matter what the evidence says.
Considering that Sweden faces sanctions of TPB wins I would say that it is highly likely that the trial is rigged so they lose. -
