- ElwoodHerring, on 09/15/2008, -0/+5Another "quiet man" of rock slips gently away. George Harrison, John Entwistle, now Richard Wright. Like George & John he was often overlooked and generally upstaged by other band members, but his contribution to the Floyd Sound was under-appreciated, and missed when absent (as in "The Final Cut").
Thanks for the music, Richard. The time has gone, the song is over. Thought I'd something more to say... - Nodaki, on 09/15/2008, -0/+4I wholeheartedly agree with Elwood, Rick's abilites were very much underappreciated. He always seemed like the nice guy with a bunch of arrogant pricks around him.
Echoes:
And no-one sings me lullabies
And no-one makes me close my eyes
And so I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky
Goodbye Rick. - hlund05, on 09/15/2008, -0/+2The reunion many of us hoped for wasn't to be. Listen to a PF album today in honor of Richard Wright. I listened to Meddle :)
- duster, on 09/16/2008, -0/+2why would you listen to that abomination of an album anyway?
- Pvisi111, on 09/15/2008, -0/+1Happens to be my favorite Pink Floyd song.
- Pvisi111, on 09/16/2008, -0/+1Agreed. It's my least favorite Pink Floyd album.
- inactive, on 09/15/2008, -0/+1I have no jokes.
- fluoro, on 09/15/2008, -0/+1heh.. I just realized that The Final Cut is like the one Floyd album that Richard Wright doesn't play on at all. :)
- bstory, on 09/15/2008, -0/+1Good bye - you shall be missed
- fluoro, on 09/15/2008, -0/+1I just happened to be listening to The Final Cut when I read the news too.
- demonstealer, on 09/15/2008, -0/+1Shine on ..
- KantPredict, on 09/15/2008, -0/+0Yet another famous performer who I knew little about other than his part in making Pink Floyd famous. All the old stars are dropping off, one by one.
