- bixby1, on 10/06/2008, -18/+254Let's hope none of these hackers are working for McCain.

- Jenkem, on 10/06/2008, -10/+185Rick Astley FTW!!!
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+172I've just been letting the JavaScriptRoll run in my browser in the background while I'm watching Friday the 13th part 4 in my parents basement. This is my life. This is what I do at 5 in the morning.
- frooo, on 10/07/2008, -0/+162Hey, we're not cheating the system..
It clearly states vote as many times as you want - nowhere on the site does it state that you have to actually do the votes yourself.
Therefore, this is not an unapproved activity! :) - Nat3r, on 10/07/2008, -2/+151i had about 100 tabs of bestactever.com open when this first happened, with 5 votes every two second... meaning every two seconds i would vote 500 times...i left it on for 17 hours
- Caniche, on 10/07/2008, -6/+155I won't give Rick Astley up.
- Stormwern, on 10/07/2008, -0/+136Rick the vote!
- greatgatsbyII, on 10/07/2008, -0/+117The continuing advancement of Rick Rolling technology never fails to amaze me.
- frooo, on 10/07/2008, -0/+109It won't be basic for too much longer :)
We're up to the 5th iteration now in testing (not on the main site yet) with a 6th in development with several anti-detection countermeasures (with even a little easter egg for fun!)
Childish maybe, awesome definitely - thecosmicpope, on 10/07/2008, -0/+106This reminds me of when the Spice Girls asked on the website where they wanted the reunion gig to be, and the internet collectively voted for Baghdad.
"Oh you mean Toronto!" - EctoplasmToast, on 10/07/2008, -0/+99I'm usually indifferent to such *channery but if it's to help screw something up for MTV and its viewers, I'm on board!
- bonk2k, on 10/07/2008, -0/+88The internet: where all are united under the banner of an 80's pop star.
- ttamshadbolt, on 10/07/2008, -0/+74MTV does music?
- AndrewDB, on 10/07/2008, -5/+79I accidentally Rick Astley?
I think I'll leave this voting thing up all night. - scarwars, on 10/07/2008, -0/+74they've added you to the updated article now..

- JeremyGrieves, on 10/07/2008, -2/+73ye well i voted over 9000 times
- WiretapStudios, on 10/07/2008, -0/+70Seriously, if only people were this feverish about real voting.
- floppytaco, on 10/07/2008, -0/+67Ah yes, The Final Chapter. You my friend are truly living the dream.
- MCA2142, on 10/07/2008, -2/+65He's no stranger to votes.
- lukegravitt, on 10/07/2008, -2/+61That is 15,300,000 votes.
- cheeseplease, on 10/07/2008, -0/+59If MTV would care about the voting fraud they would just recount the votes, just counting one per IP. I think they actually like the idea of Rick Astley winning, it will probably get a lot of media attention.
- Jeffler, on 10/07/2008, -0/+57Considering you were supposed to do it for Rick Astley, yes.
- buckrogers1965, on 10/07/2008, -4/+56I accidentally for Rick Ashley over 9000 times. Is that bad?
- sh4rkb1t3, on 10/07/2008, -1/+52WHAT 9000?????!!
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+50That's not saying much...
- Exekutor, on 10/07/2008, -2/+50I won't let Rick Astley down
- killhouse, on 10/07/2008, -1/+49He will win easily, he will have 99.9% of all the votes.
We will never give you up, we will never let you down. - inactive, on 10/07/2008, -2/+44I won't run around and desert Rick Astley.
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+40Clearly the solution is: Rick Astley for President!
- josephbloseph, on 10/07/2008, -0/+40Jason Voorhees is never gonna give you up.
- DeathJux, on 10/07/2008, -0/+39Thank you... so much...
/wipes tear away - 3for5, on 10/07/2008, -10/+47NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN
- frooo, on 10/07/2008, -1/+37Unfortunately that was a PHP script running through libcurl and even tho it was running on mediatemples grid, we sadly had 65k unique people trying to vote.
Let's just say I used nearly a full months worth of grid cpu usage in 11 hours and was staring down the barrel of about $500 a day in overcharges = not cool.
At least with the clientside stuff thats been reduced a lot and spread out alot. - graeh, on 10/07/2008, -1/+35RICK THE VOTE m/
- Stupidumb, on 10/07/2008, -0/+34You're my ***** hero man.
- adrenalmedulla9, on 10/07/2008, -0/+33I won't make Rick Astley cry.
- apec766, on 10/07/2008, -0/+32I won't tell Rick Astley a lie, and hurt Rick Astley.
- franklymister, on 10/07/2008, -0/+30You're doing it wrong.
- cynic573, on 10/07/2008, -1/+31I won't make Rick Astley say goodbye.
- fattehboi, on 10/07/2008, -1/+30/digg/ this *****
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -1/+30Internet Explorer: It's better for voting fraud.
- 3for5, on 10/07/2008, -3/+30RICK ROLLED
- FUR10N, on 10/07/2008, -1/+27WHAT 9000!?
- yourmom, on 10/07/2008, -0/+25I've known Rick Astley, for so long.
- Mako640, on 10/07/2008, -0/+24Rick Astley's heart's been aching but he's too shy to say it.
- frooo, on 10/07/2008, -0/+24Unfortunately, the 2nd vote score will be Tokio Hotel - and their fans are also cheating (links to proof on site)
Then again, there are unconfirmed rumours of fans from all sides downloading the scripts we have provided and as a result I've decided to rename the EMA to BotWars08. -
