- jimbod, on 02/20/2009, -10/+96Digg here if you remember watching this when it originally aired on MTV!
- scrubzor, on 02/20/2009, -1/+77This MTV unplugged performance was awesome because nirvana didn't choose to perform their biggest radio hits. They decided to play music that was actually suited for acoustic guitar, rather than just taking all their popular songs and playing them in an acoustic version... which seemed to be a trend with some of the other MTV unplugged sessions.
- klitzbtc, on 02/20/2009, -1/+60I'm so glad I grew up in the 90's, in the first few years the music was ***** amazing. That goes for Hip Hop and Rock. ***** can't even began to compare nowadays.
edit: ***** I forgot it was his birthday, Happy Birthday Brotha, RIP. - inactive, on 02/20/2009, -4/+60Damn, I miss Nirvana and Kurt Cobain.
- badwithcomputer, on 02/20/2009, -1/+52excellent performance of a classic song. everyone i knew had the nirvana unplugged album. it came in the mail with samples of tide.
- Battlecry, on 02/20/2009, -2/+42Today would've been Cobain's 42nd birthday.
- bcool, on 02/20/2009, -0/+38Alice in chains was also amazing
- kungfuice, on 02/20/2009, -2/+31I wish he would have chose to stay with us, Nirvana and Kurt were amazing and changed the face of music forever.
I miss the whole Grunge scene, compared to the crap we have today it was a much more interesting time in music. - OwlFlavored, on 02/20/2009, -0/+26Because many people haven't heard the original:

- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+24Dave Grohl had such a baby face, damn time flies.
- llibja, on 02/20/2009, -1/+25Happy Birthday Kurt Cobain.
- DannySpace, on 02/20/2009, -1/+20I still remember the day he died.... Sucks.
- Battlecry, on 02/20/2009, -0/+17It's not behind the times. This got posted because today would've been Cobain's 42nd birthday.
- kastlip88, on 02/20/2009, -3/+20Man this just reminds me how much I love Nirvana.
R.I.P. Kurt :( - pennvneff, on 02/20/2009, -2/+17There's only one song that everyone remembers from this performance. Still freaks me the ***** out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xHl-P_arVA - llibja, on 02/21/2009, -1/+15Wait did you just compare Nirvana to god damn Sum 41?
- tolbs, on 02/20/2009, -0/+10Trolling doesn't work when your username is your intent.
- misskari, on 02/20/2009, -2/+13This is a cover.
- klitzbtc, on 02/20/2009, -1/+11lol Old? I'm 24, blow me.
- Kewlies320, on 02/20/2009, -1/+11I feel old calling this a classic
- tolbs, on 02/20/2009, -2/+12I thought it'd be cool if they brought unplugged back, but then I realized they did that and it didn't work because there aren't any great acts out there today....I remember they had Korn unplugged...yuck.
- jimbod, on 02/20/2009, -1/+11No, but I can't really control what people do... Yet.
- pattycakes808, on 02/20/2009, -0/+10Wow I feel old. I cannot believe it's been 15 years.
- ileftfark, on 02/21/2009, -0/+9"In the wake of this cover, Bowie bemoaned the fact that when he performed the number himself he would encounter "kids that come up afterwards and say, 'It's cool you're doing a Nirvana song.' And I think, '***** you, you little tosser!'""
Heh. :-) - Linake, on 02/20/2009, -1/+9Great? Of course! Better than Bowie? Never.
- markgl, on 02/21/2009, -0/+8Shhyaa right, and monkey's might fly out of my butt.
- regularsteven, on 02/20/2009, -1/+9does that mean bury if you didn't?
- terracottapai, on 02/21/2009, -0/+7If only it had been Ted Nugent..
Get *****. - Mauly, on 02/21/2009, -0/+6Tell you what then, go listen to bush, blink, sum41, and weezer.. I'm 32yo and Nirvana was, is and will always be the band that changed my world... You just don't get what Nirvana is..
- PhilPerspective, on 02/20/2009, -1/+7The version of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?" is even better. Talk about a haunting way to end the performance.
- funmerlin, on 02/20/2009, -1/+7I had taped this whole performance off of MTV months earlier, and I was actually camping the day he died. We had a boombox and were listening to my taped MTV copy of unplugged that night at the campfire. :\
- immatellyouwhat, on 02/21/2009, -0/+6MTV used to play Music on tv?
- gl77, on 02/21/2009, -1/+7i remember feeling sort of numb for a while after he died. Nirvana was my favorite rock band at the time. almost a year to the day later, one of my other favorite music artists died too, Eazy-E. seems that people have forgotten Eazy over the years because his death was in between Cobain and Tupac and people still mourn both of them very much.
- wonkavsn, on 02/21/2009, -0/+6I believe that was Frampton Comes Alive.
- Farmer77, on 02/20/2009, -0/+6I used to listen to this in HS over and over.
- Pulch, on 02/21/2009, -0/+6@klitzbtc
I'm 24 too! Can I get a BJ as well? - mattcarreiro, on 02/20/2009, -0/+5the bob dylan unplugged was very disappointing. I think Nirvana had the best performance followed by Eric Clapton then Pearl Jam
- MidnightRIder77, on 02/20/2009, -1/+6It's tough for me to decide whether this or Clapton Unplugged is a better album. In the end it's far too complicating for me to ponder.
- inkswamp, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5Nirvana is just like Pink Floyd in that regard. Anyone can play their songs, but nobody else can write them.
Don't judge a band by how difficult their songs are to play. It's art, not a competition. - Gravey9, on 02/21/2009, -3/+8I've got something better
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNf1hRkVnM4&fea ... - inkswamp, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5An interesting, if not morbid, bit of trivia about their Unplugged set. Kurt dictated all the details of the decor and instructed MTV to make it look like a funeral.
- aargh01, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5I was never a Nirvana fan until I heard this album. There's just so much heart in this performance... even the song choices reflect not their own success, but the bands that inspired them in the first place. Simple, humble, brilliant.
"Oh Me," my favorite cover on this album...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUtIEMkqk9I - inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5Are you saying Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Mudhoney suck? Seriously man, seriously.
- diabloenfuego, on 02/20/2009, -3/+8I was never a huge Nirvana fan, but this has probably always been my favorite cover.
- drink409, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5A venereal disease?
- xBloBx, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4I feel nostalgic now!
- Balonkey, on 02/20/2009, -1/+5Awesome performance. My personal favorite was "Where did you sleep last night" but this deserves Diggs for sure. Happy birthday, Kurt.
- yaryarhumphump, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4R.I.P and happy birthday!
I miss your presence in the music world. - karmaroks, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4Don't tell me what to do. I'm going to digg the comment right below you cause I do remember watching it but have no other way of showing it.
