- clownguyx, on 10/12/2007, -15/+73Why would anybody even care what Sebastian Bach thinks about anything?
- Captj, on 10/12/2007, -7/+30Didn't you guys hear?
China beat G'nR to it.
...eh, I probably will be dugg down. - Markie1006, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25You made a typo..
"Yes, I'm one of those weird people that thinks RIAA should get paid for their recordings. (-:"
There you go - I fixed it for you. - chubbymidget, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Includes Duke Nukem 2000 and one of those OLED Keyboards due out last year.
- empeethree, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23give me my big hair 80's stuff over the emo crap that is put out today.
- vvvv, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19"The Pianist from Use Your Illusions is with the band still... "
Glad to hear it. To make a good doom metal album, it's really important to get the right piano player. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Velvet Revolver is more "Guns N Roses" than Guns N Roses is or ever will be, short of a reunion.
Axl is delusional.
When you think "Guns N Roses", you also think "Slash," and as we know, Slash is no longer in this band. You can't remove half the image and still call it what it was.
That would be like Zeppelin without Page/Plant, Nirvana continuing without Kurt, STP without Weiland, so on.
Repeat after me: this is Axl solo project, not GNR.
Plus it won't be coming out any time soon since it hasn't been leaked to usenet yet. I highly doubt the GNR album is this coveted item. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -16/+31Um, Sebastian Bach after his stint with Skid Row, was the lead for quite some time in the Broadway play "Doctor Jeckl, Mister Hyde". Maybe you've heard of it?
He's not without talent or the right to judge his peers in his profession. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+22@charbarred
Actually, Seb is still releasing music. It's just not mainstream crap that you can pick up at Wal Mart. http://www.frameshift2.com/ - Homunculiheaded, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14"it's badass with killer screams and killer guitar riffs, but it's got a totally modern sound."- and SB's choice of words really convinced me he knows what modern sound is.
- Bandito, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16No Slash, No Izzy, No Duff.
Not even Gilby Clarke or Matt Sorum who both joined later.
I'm sorry, but when the ONLY remaining member is Axl, this is not a true Gn'R lineup.
It _may_ be a rockin' cd, but it shouldn't be Gn'R
Just my .02 - Eljefedeath, on 10/12/2007, -11/+23Because, after all, it's about you.
- scanman20, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Savage Animal! Damnocracy!
- Thater, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Or that time he was in Gilmore Girls.
- empeethree, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Well, ain't it fun when you've broken up every band you've ever begun
- TheWalkingDude, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13November 21st? I won't scratch it off of my vaporware list just yet, but I hope it's true. I liked the tracks that got leaked on the Net a while back.
- DontSayFanboy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13Elje,
what is that even supposed to mean? Rock group pissess off fans, fans don't support the group's next efforts. This is the natural order of things.
Axl is a douchebag. I too fell victim to a cancelled show. I loved Appetite nearly TWENTY YEARS AGO, but since then I've moved on, and so have the rest of the band. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10He has no original members of GNR left, which makes it more or less an Axl solo project as opposed to any sort of manifestation of past talents.
He had the drummer from Primus (Brain), Buckethead (wtf? why? "is this a joke" type of thing), Robin Finck (ex-NIN tour guitarist), and some unknowns. His current lineup is probably a varation of similar unknowns.
In other words: it's probably not that good.
I won't make that decision till I hear it, but... GNR was a collaboration of writings by everyone, not just Axl - and when you remove those creative elements, you're just getting a fraction of the overall picture. - vinbob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7GnR - Doom Metal... piss off!
Maybe charbarred should actually listen to a doom band first, I suggest 'Grief' for a start.
http://www.last.fm/music/Grief - anillop, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Then Buckethead left because Axl was such a jerk off. He must be just a huge ass in order to go through so many musicians. I used to be a huge GnR fan back in the day, now I couldn't give a crap. Axl is a has been who is so high on him self that he just can admit it.
- Timbrwlvz1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8I'd hardly call Axl Rose and some guys he hired Gun N' Roses.
- heavensblade23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Chinese Democracy is the soundtrack for Duke Nukem Forever which only runs on Windows Vista.
- musntSurfatWork, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Axl ***** us over in Montreal on his last show with Metallica. Go get od'd Axl, I don't give a hoot about you anymore.
- Arkonnan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The difference here is that Nine Inch Nails has *always* been Trent Reznor. He has been the brainchild of the band since day one. There was never any illusion about that.
GnR, on the other hand, was as much Slash, Duff, Steven and Izzy as it was Axl. Axl can't just lop off all of the limbs of the band and expect it to be GnR. - bikini, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@pantuky
if you're assuming that the guns n roses album is going to be "doom metal" and therefore be "good for you" then you've got a couple things confused.
first of all, GnR will never be doom metal.
second, if you REALLY think doom metal is good for you, then you won't be interested in GnR's attempt at it.
third, i'm not even a metalhead, so say what you want about metal. i dont care. i just think its weak that some has-been from the 80's is trying to help out his old pals by promoting them as a genre he doesnt understand. - mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Current members

wow they have 3 guitarists, 2 drummers, and 2 keyboardists...
from Wikipedia - JeffH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3He's a sellout. He takes every chance to get on the latest reality show, and has done most of the publicity stunts in the book (and still failed).
He was good in Skid Row, but went down with it. It's sad to see him these days. - Avengelist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Guns 'n' Roses are no longer relevant.
- tombomb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3IMO It's a little late for GnR to be relavant anymore. (Plus, It's not really GnR, Just Axl + company) I just don't care about this new album because I like to listen to bands which I can be fairly sure will be around for a while and release consistentley good music.
- Araxen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Sebastian Bach? Who? and why should I care that he's given the thumbs up to the new GNR album? They don't even have Slash.
They should have changed the band name to Water Guns and Lillies. - Araxen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Trent Reznor has always been Nine Inch Nails. He is literally a one man band and always has been when it comes to him and NIN. It's just when he goes out and tours if that he needs more than the one man.
Axl isn't that talented as Trent. - Eljefedeath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ahh, Thank you.
I disagree. Axl was the heart of that band. If anyone could carry the weight of GnR solo it would be him. Now before you go all crazy, I'm not saying I like the guy or even think he is much of a human being, but none of the others have put together a band that comes close to GnR since leaving it. Even Velvet Revolver had to go get a great front man out of rehab to put together a decent group. - stung47000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Not Even Doom Metal could save G&R.
- Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Bear in mind that Bach is the sole special guest on the upcoming Canadian tour dates for GnR - he might have a bit of bias in recommending this album.
For the record Skid Row was the only 'hair band' (they technically weren't but had hair band leanings) worth listening to in the 90s.
18 and Life! let me see those cigarette lighters. - JDoggqx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4To quote a rather famous (and generally friendly) Philadelphia DJ Pierre Robert, "Axl Rose is a flaming turd."
I think that sums up Axl Rose perfectly. After all, he's the guy that doesn't show up at his own concerts so that he can attend a basketball game. - theOster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3HEY!! Sebastian Bach and crew stopped in San Loco in the LES. That solidifies his judgement enough for me :)
(i also talked to David Lee there - talk about has-beens...)
mmm....Chili Loco and a pitcher of margarita....
dinner anyone? - superjarvo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would definitely buy it if it made me cum my pants during the intro. Think of the money saved from not buying drinks, dinners, flowers, or compliments!
- RickySan65, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Bunch 'o Crap?
Forget GNR, slip in Soul-Fly,now thats music ;) - JohnBooty, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7[shakin] "Axl needs to surround himself with better, more creative musicians"
Hmm. If the rumors are to be believed, Axl is an extremely demanding control freak. That can't be good for creativity, even if he surrounds himself with creative musicians. They're just not going to do their best creative work. Even if they do, it seems that work could just wind up not getting used by Axl.
Of course, that's just the conventional wisdom on Axl. Maybe it's not true! True or not true, I'm just hoping it's a good album. I'm looking forward to it. I'll do the old "download it and then buy the actual CD if it's good" routine.
Yes, I'm one of those weird people that thinks musicians should get paid for their recordings. (-: - Mininday, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ok, G n' R music will always be some of the greatest music ever recorded, but after ancipating this album since 1999, this better beat out Led Zeppelin's #4.
- Eljefedeath, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The reason it isn't out yet is because Axl is desperately trying to make an album that doesn't sound like he is trying to recreate Appetite. I think that is admirable, he wants to make a great album, not just make money. Is he an *****? Obviously. Will he be successful? Probably not.
But I hope he is. - mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Real Guns N Roses = Velvet Revolver
- Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@skyshock
No, the Offspring's lead singer was mildly inebriated when that interview took place. The album he was referring to ended up being Splinter. - flashboy131, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the last true album was 93 (UYI) 13 years ago.
you can wait. - neonpulse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4NEDM!
- Klarth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Bach's performance on the second Frameshift album is incredibly cool. He's probably one of the most talented vocalists out there.
- Klarth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Chinese Democracy: The soundtrack to Duke Nukem forever.
- dakboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He wore a kilt a lot when GnR was the REAL GnR.
- dakboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Unfortunately, he legally can - Axl owns the band name.
- balkanboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Slash ain't there, primarily because of the dumb, egomaniacal, psychopathic hick Axl is, so GNR as I knew it, no longer exists. Don't waste your money on this. GNR was Axl+Slash+whoever on bass/drums/rhythm. As another digg-er pointed out, they are no longer relevant.
GNR could have been the greatest band since U2, but like many other super talented bands, they had to ***** it up. -
