- lukeo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1On the page, click help, then select the second option, and you should see an option to select real player or windows media player. click windows media player, then go back to the set you want and click it and click listen to set and it should open in WMP. Worked for me at least. :D

- Velvis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"digg for awesomeness. How does NPR get this though? They always struck me as poor because they don't do commercials."
You pay taxes right?
They dont lean to the left either..... - aceboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1More public radio concerts at the KCRW website from Morning Becomes Eclectic. Death Cab, Alexi Murdoch, Radiohead, Keane and more - http://www.kcrw.com/show/mb
- mikesum32, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My Moring Jacket rocks, but Night Train would slash their tires.
They even offered to.
8th Grade Bride, what a song - bubba9999, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"WAH - this doesn't work for me."
"WAH - these bands suck."
This is pretty darn cool. It would be nice if it were in mp3 or ogg though. - mikef98765, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0why can't anyone just use normal formats? The SMIL didn't work for me. I'm all about htis whole open source thing, but seriously, if they want to be taken seriously they need a standard. Ogg, flac, aac, m4a, smil, rm, just pick one so everyone can use it.
- pillfred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool indeed.
- norman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0awesome. how can i rip this so i can have it on the go?
- extant59, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ok death cab sounds rad... but seriously. this guy talking.. sucks.. he sounds boring as helll.... but at least i got to see my real player put to use for once.
- ColonelTamar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Night Train IS awesome! You can see movies and hear sound clips on www.8thgradebride.com. But, if you can't get enough of their wild times, tune into www.artistfirst.com on Thurs., 12/1/05 at 8 pm EST! During the hour long show, you can hear cuts from 8th Grade Bride, Eat More Possum and Cold Beer and Fried Bologna. There will also be live interviews of guitarist Dave "Chico" Prince and drummer Bobby Lee Atkins. You can even email them questions on www.artistfirst.com to have them answered live! Nothing is off limits... Night Train's web site is www.8thgradebride.com.
- elpayo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This = AudioHijack = food for the iPod. Thanks. Nice digg
- oldcyborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Best MP3 player is Winampa. No it isn't spelled wrong, that's the file you download. At various times when I have had Codec problems, Winamp was the only thing I could get to work. I don't care for the interface, and it doesn't have every feature, but if you just want it to work, and queue things up,it is the way to go. Old News, I know, but I have heard 2 complaints here today about MP3s not playing, and I know it'll work. Free, of course....Google it. Don't make me do it.....Install it, don't let it change your files to itself, and open thing with "open with" (in windows)
NPR has some of the finest programming available, and has always had something you couldn't get elsewhere... The news is only partly biased!!! You can easily figure out what the real deal is!! They do Report it all, and I'm sure it costs them great angst, but they still do it. Still got Garrison Keillor(sp) and classical music too.
IF NPR were a Political party, they would be closer to me than either one we have. I am a republican, but I can't defend it. I still like to think, that abortion allows a woman the right to own body... and that's as far as I go. WE Need to keep some rights, or we are NOT gonna have ANY..... They been whacking em off, for many years, little nibble at a time. Keep your guns where you can see them...
I vote for "who will cause the Least damage", and since the days of Eisenhower, can't remember voting for someone who I tho't would be the best person!!!
Check out NPR, at various times. You'll find something you like!!!!
Cyborg - gh3tto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0>>If there is a Shins cut on that page it is well hidden.
The Shins opened up for the White Stripes - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You'd think they'd have the shins playing at acl since they have bloc party, meh, still a good site. Subscribe to the podcast!
- supergeorgina, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bright Eyes! Kick ass.
- BadassMutha4000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0also, if you check frequently they will stream the concerts live right from different venues in the DC area. The podcast is pretty cool too.
- Ignatius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sigur Ros. cool, thanks
- CoolJammer00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah, SMIL didnt work in my RMP. I NEED OPEN SOURCE ALTERNATIVES SO I CAN HAVE MY WILCO!
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good bands. Great digg gh3tto.
- CoolJammer00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how are you supposed to get music to play? do you have to wait until they air it?
- spartan777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah but all the music and stuff is in .smil format. Realplayer is the devil, so i'm never going to install that garbage. why can't they just do mp3 or ogg? its government funded, so why aren't they more open?
- n3tfury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sweet, nice find, man.
- freonchill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ spartan777
some are in MP3
and the 'streaming' .smil format plays w/ realALTERNATIVE, which uses any player you already have, or media player classic (windows media player 6.4 w/ tweaks) - LoPhatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why isn't this showing up in top stories?
- D4RKfantasy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Wow, this is awesome. The Bloc Party one is great so far. Got my Digg

- dan4321, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sigur Ros... very, very nice.
- evercool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Superb digg!! I had never heard of this "All Songs Considered" show before, maybe because I'm not form the U.S. ;) The concerts are wonderful, especially the one with The Decemberists, I'm sooooo in love with this band! Top notch!
- ColonelTamar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you want to hear great songs for free, check out Night Train on www.43thehawk.com or on www.allsouthernrock.com! Of course for the great live show dates, check out the latest antics of Dave "Chico" Prince, Bobby Lee Adkins and George Ray on www.8thgradebride.com
- gh3tto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0admirabumblebee : download realplayer, or click help and change preference to windows media
- whatalunatik, on 03/17/2009, -0/+0I love bright eyes, but he is perpetually crying.
- Fennmacon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sweet, thanks soooo much man... i never thought boring old npr would have much stuff i liked
- kumfortableenum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Spend less time bitching about not being able to steal the music and more time appreciating the services that NPR offers. By the way, most of the funding comes from private donations as the government doesn't have enough money left over, after funding the American economy through the Defense Department, to fund anything worthwhile and educational.
Hippies suck. - thegrinder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great rock concerts? Ha
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@bubba9999 the concerts are in mp3, 64 kbps mp3 to be exact.
i ripped the interpol one ages ago
HAHAHA you dont know how. - natemc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you can save them using VLC to capture the MMS stream after you tell it to use WMP insteal of Real. You can then use a few other programs to convert them to mp3.
- atf487, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0all those bands are ace.
- CoolJammer00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow. im surprised the Shins dont have their own concert, considering this is like an indie thing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Real Player or prayer, now seriously, choosing real is not the best option but the real problem is EVERYONE USE DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGY. Come on lets just decide for one codec and be done with it!
- funk-bot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0im a leftie commie freak and i wouldnt even listen to him while feasting on your pathetic bourgeois blood. most of these bands suck but great find gh3tto and npr rocks
- hiway7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No Motorhead. No Digg.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0rtsp://real.npr.na-central.speedera.net:80/real.npr.na-central/asc/live/20050129_asc_brighteyes.rm

http://www.npr.org/programs/asc/ - diehard2k5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good Stuff. Too bad only the Bloc Party concert is downloadable in mp3. Too bad its all clumped together in one mp3 as well.
