NIN releases 400gb of free HD concert footage via torrents!

nin.com — A couple months ago Trent Reznor publicly sounded off about the difficulties he faced with his old record company that prevented him from filming a 3D concert film. Now he's inviting fans to make their own DVD by offering over 400gb of raw HD concert footage free via NIN's own torrent tracker.

    What started out as a fan effort to document the last show is now becoming an epic project thanks to the addition of this enormous pile of quality content. We're now aiming to make it a 2 DVD set - first one being the original Vegas show with fan footage only, second a "best of" mixes from the other three shows.

  • dafragsta, on 01/07/2009, -1/+27I think at any point that you've ever been appreciated for your work and if you are honest with yourself and don't let your ego take over, you probably come to the same conclusion. "Yeah, I might be good at this, but ANYONE who put as much time in could do it to some degree of proficiency." Every artist who has ever wanted to continue getting better never says "I've made it and it's all about my success now." and they still really get off on learning new techniques and having hew toys and materials to play with. I think he's just giving back what he gets by having people appreciate his efforts and not having to have a day job.

    It doesn't cost him much to do stuff like this and it gives him piles of credibility as someone who just enjoys what he does and genuinely just wants to involve more people.
