- lithera, on 07/03/2008, -0/+22So.......where's the blunder? All I see is are musicians learning a new song. Buried.
- stfucupcake, on 07/03/2008, -0/+21I don't get how this is embarrassing. I mean, practicing is practicing no matter who you are.
Buried as inaccurate. - PullingTeeth, on 07/03/2008, -3/+23Anyone that pisses off Lars is cool in my books
- inactive, on 07/03/2008, -2/+20***** SONG SUCKS! WE'LL DO IT LIVE!
- AmyVernon, on 07/02/2008, -1/+19nice to know that even the pros can f*** up, too.
- eastclintwood, on 07/03/2008, -5/+22Not too bad really, sometime it's tough to nail a tricky part -- even when you're Kirk.
Great footage, I wouldn't be embarrassed :) - ErrorLoading, on 07/03/2008, -0/+15Red, Red, Blue, Red, GREEN, then Blue.
- ocellnuri, on 07/03/2008, -1/+15Looks like a typical writing/recording session to me... and simple parts can get really tricky when they change in small ways. What's embarrassing about this?

- NightRiderkami, on 07/03/2008, -2/+12Any guitar player will tell you there are some riffs that are hard to conceptualize, even though they are super easy for other people of the same skill.

Kirk is a guitar God. Everyone has their embarrassing moments. - Sarumiso, on 07/03/2008, -5/+14I don't understand what I just watched. Can someone explain it in Guitar Hero terms?
- haulboss, on 07/03/2008, -0/+9It just shows that on stage they make it look easy but when there learning it, it can be just as hard as being a beginner
- Elliuotatar, on 07/03/2008, -3/+11Yeah I can.
BORING. Buried. - fasda, on 07/02/2008, -2/+10listen to Master of Puppets or And justice for All and try to say no talent with a straight.
- jmreid, on 07/03/2008, -0/+8Ya, i don't see how this is "Hilarius". Even the pros are human and get frustrated.
- AzureRise, on 07/03/2008, -1/+9I actually got that impression at the beginning, because it looked like he was being weirded out by how loose the strings are. For those who don't know St. Anger is played in Drop D down a whole note, so the tuning is :
C G C F A D
The sixth string, the thickest heaviest one the low E, is especially loose. You can drag the ***** around with your finger. - AzureRise, on 07/03/2008, -0/+7Nah, the problem isn't that they're ***** up, it's that they're sober now.
- reed311, on 07/03/2008, -0/+7Buried as lame. He was learning a new song, what did you expect?
- Kingster, on 07/03/2008, -0/+6Revver site isn't working for me... Found on Youtube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=546KjKMB9kw
- AzureRise, on 07/03/2008, -0/+6A straight? Why's he have to be playing poker when he listens to it.
- aamittle, on 07/03/2008, -0/+6***** it! We'll do it live!!!
- bleutuna, on 07/03/2008, -6/+12I'm no Metallica fan, but in his defense, can you do it? I can't :p
- System6, on 07/03/2008, -0/+6I'm a musician and a producer. There is no blunder here, just basic recording sessions. It's not as easy and shiny as we make it sound on the CD for you.
- choopie911, on 07/03/2008, -0/+5I was waiting for the "blunder" but I just saw some practice/ learning....
- chrispchiken, on 07/02/2008, -4/+9Yea i've been drunk/high/effedup and have forgotten my own song too.
- GREEDOnvrFIRED, on 07/03/2008, -0/+5Listen I despise what Metallica has become. Maybe Rick Ruben can rescue them. I hope so. BUT! There is no blunder here. It's just a mental/muscle block on a tricky riff. It is a perfectly reasonable ocurrance for even the most seasoned player. So quit your trash talking and go pretend to play some more with your Guitar Hero.
- jimbowf, on 07/03/2008, -0/+5welcome to 4 years ago
- ousthouse, on 07/03/2008, -3/+8Somewhat off topic, but I gotta get this off my chest;
Load and ReLoad kicked ass.
My inner music snob has kept me from admitting it for over 10 years. - mugicha, on 07/03/2008, -0/+5Seriously, I kept waiting for the "embarrassing blunder". I thought he was going to ***** himself or something.
- justice7, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4some kind of monster.
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -3/+7Exactly...Did you look at his face?
"It's the one's in between that are ****ing with me". - AzureRise, on 07/03/2008, -0/+4He's basically getting pissed off because he's ***** up a simple riff. Looks like he was having a really off day.
- eliot2000, on 07/03/2008, -3/+7Why were all the Google ads on the video for cat-related things? Cat furniture- cat meow ringtone- free kitten classifieds. Is someone at Google calling Metallica pussies?
- tcasey22, on 07/03/2008, -0/+4They're sober now...
- Wezlanator, on 07/03/2008, -5/+9He had trouble playing it cause he knew this album was going to be sub par.
- freshyill, on 07/03/2008, -0/+4I don't get it. He's having trouble with a song. I don't see how this is embarrassing or a blunder.
- DigTheDoug, on 07/03/2008, -0/+4Goddamn that snare drum.
- revrev, on 07/03/2008, -0/+3i think i'm failing to see what is embarrassing about this. he's practicing? trying to get the riff right on the recording? i don't get it.
- BananaGrabber, on 07/03/2008, -1/+4I have trouble memorizing and playing almost anything well no matter how easy it is until the next day. Muscle memory is a bitch to build up in a short span of time, especially on the spot like in the video.
- YoctoYotta, on 07/03/2008, -0/+3yeah, a long day in the studio can make the simplest things pretty trialing. i bet after a good night's sleep and he was all over that riff the next morning.
p.s. - i hate metallica's music, but all due respect to them as capable musicians - oblique63, on 07/03/2008, -0/+3I think it's being a bit exaggerated as to how easy it is, I mean, sure it's easy as breathing for most of us experienced (metal) guitar players, but I could see somebody getting caught up on a fast 16th note 'E-beating'/alternate-picking pattern, its not the simplest thing to go from 8th notes to 16th notes and back again, while keeping time perfectly, in such a short interval... so I wouldn't say it's exactly 'Iron Man' simple, seeing as how it wouldn't be that easy for a beginner to pull off properly anyway...
and besides, I could totally see that sort of thing happening to anyone just learning a new riff for the first time, it's usually the timing that gets people, not so much the technical skill required to play it... - NightRiderkami, on 07/03/2008, -1/+4Mindless riffing? Lawl
- mrhedges, on 07/03/2008, -1/+4Buried. I didn't even need to see the video to know what this is. A lot of anti-Metallica shredder-wannabes like slamming Kurt because of this video; fact is, he's ten thousand times more successful than they'll ever be, regardless of their talent. He's not a horrible guitarist, and he's been part of a band that defined metal in the 80s and 90s.
- inactive, on 07/03/2008, -0/+3ones*
There is no apostrophe in a plural...
/punctuation nazi - mahavishnu108, on 07/03/2008, -0/+3I loathe Kirk Hammett, but this video is not embarrassing or anything to be ashamed about because every rock band does this. Metallica is composing a song and Kirk is recording a part that another band member wrote. Nothing to see here.
