- ncapone, on 02/27/2009, -1/+104I don't think he has to worry about it; the Beatles aren't going to die any time soon.
- kstar6, on 02/27/2009, -2/+80Being on iTunes would also help that Sir McCartney......
- RanIntoTheDevil, on 02/27/2009, -1/+66I also think that the continued existence of the human race will keep the Beatles music alive.
- wontstoptalking, on 02/28/2009, -1/+40It's too bad he has absolutely no power over how the Beatle's music is used since he owns none of it.....
He needs to pay a fee ever time he sings Yesterday, his most popular song he wrote himself, at his own concert tours.
Sad, huh? - kss42, on 02/28/2009, -4/+25That's great now WHERE IS ZEPPELIN
- Morphinity, on 02/28/2009, -0/+20Give me Helter Skelter, the Sun King Medley, and I Want You (She's So Heavy) and I'll be a very happy man.
- inactive, on 02/28/2009, -1/+19I think the continued existence of Beatles music will keep the human race alive.
- mmittimm, on 02/28/2009, -1/+18I don't think anything needs to be done to keep The Beatles' music alive. They're legends.
- Matt420, on 02/28/2009, -1/+18You can thank Michael Jackson for that!
- enantiodromia, on 02/28/2009, -0/+15I bet you wouldn't last 2 seconds playing Blackbird on Expert.
- terracottapai, on 02/28/2009, -4/+17And as long as there are idiots trying to set themselves apart as 'rebels', there will always be Beatle-bashers.
- wontstoptalking, on 02/28/2009, -3/+16The Beatles and Pink Floyd: Musical drugs.
- Murrabbit, on 02/28/2009, -3/+16Know what else might help keep it alive? If we could still buy it somewhere.
- CarStan, on 02/28/2009, -0/+13They are the 3rd most listened to artists on last.fm. I dont think he has to worry.
If there is one band that people will be listening to till the end of time, it will be The Beatles - Optiks, on 02/28/2009, -0/+12Right. Because no one already has the entire Beatles' library on their iPods.
- mmittimm, on 02/28/2009, -0/+12If you're going to troll at least be subtle about it.
- BestDudeEver, on 02/28/2009, -1/+13To all of you saying that the Beatles suck, just listen to an album straight through BEFORE you say anything, Revolver would be a good one to start with
- Egroh08, on 02/28/2009, -1/+12McCartney et al. sold them out of their own volition to make a lot of money... they're MJ's, among other buyers, property now. I don't see why it's sad.
- pilot3033, on 02/28/2009, -0/+11many people, including myself.
Jazz (which spans the mentioned decades, and much longer) is nearly timeless. There are still artists today who take inspiration from Jazz tunes written at the turn of the 20th century, and that is why the Beatles and Bob Dylan and the like won't "fade away," because there is just so much to draw from.
I'd argue that the only reason the group would seem commonplace, or "over rated" is because you hear everything they did in modern rock and roll music, all the time. - gl77, on 02/28/2009, -1/+12Beatles music is dying? i didnt get the memo
- MidnightRIder77, on 02/28/2009, -1/+12I'm 17 and trust me the Beatles are far from dead. There is a huge following at my school from kids that only have the 1 album, to people that know the date every album was released and who wrote every song (I'm more like that, some of my friends have most of the vinyls as well). Even the freshman that only listen to ***** stuff they see on the top 40 or on the 5 minutes Mtv shows music still respect the Beatles to an extent.
- jsbyrnes, on 02/28/2009, -0/+11I agree with you but I think you're being dugg down because not everyone quite understands why. Yes the Beatles work is technically difficult but it won't be when the music is translated to Rock Band. It's not fast, most rhythm parts consist of (often strummed) chords, and the solos are short. Sure it's a bitch on a real instrument but no with 5 buttons, its just not a complex enough game.
- nicko68, on 02/28/2009, -0/+11Some people play Rock Band or Guitar Hero as another way to experience music, and don't care about technical challenge.
- MasterGrief, on 02/28/2009, -0/+10:(
- ByteGuerilla, on 02/28/2009, -1/+10exaggeration is the worst ***** thing imaginable
- enantiodromia, on 02/28/2009, -1/+10Beatles music is actually very technical, which is one reason they were so influential.
i can play piano by sight and sound pretty darn well, but nearly every piano heavy Beatles song is just silly difficult to play CORRECTLY. a lot of what they do made no sense, but came out very nice. - seventhc, on 02/28/2009, -1/+9I think the thing that people fail to realize is that while the Beatles early songs may seem simple, it is simplicity to the highest degree. So many people here talking how simple it is to play, well, how about you write something so simple that sounds so great.
Less is more sometimes. - bigplrbear, on 02/28/2009, -1/+9No, Bittorrent will keep the Beatles alive. It's the only way you can download their music!
- dbohio22, on 02/28/2009, -0/+8Once they stopped touring they put out some more difficult songs.
- tourettes1992, on 02/28/2009, -0/+750's are remember for sure, Chuck Berry? Buddy Holly? And if your into blues you would remember the 20s-40s. It all depends on the music that was made in those times.
- hyperreal, on 02/28/2009, -0/+7I think I just heard a few sarcasm detectors break.
- ksalminen, on 02/28/2009, -4/+11As a 16 year old who is shamefully part of a feeble-minded generation with a terrible taste in music, I can promise that there ARE some of us who will not allow great music from the best band ever die out.
- ncalishome, on 02/28/2009, -0/+7Michael Jackson owns publishing rights to most of their catalog, he doesn't own the music. Lennon/McCartney still collect phat checks from songwriting credits, which I believe is a 50/50 split when a song is used. I don't know for sure, but since MJ owns "publishing" I doubt McCartney pays a nickel to sing one of his tunes.
- Funkleft, on 02/28/2009, -5/+12Translation:
I'd like more money now - enantiodromia, on 02/28/2009, -0/+6the Beatles were #1 for a very long time, which is impressive, considering that was where there were no legal Beatles MP3s of any kind.
- HalsMyPal, on 02/28/2009, -0/+6i am pretty sure Michael Jackson had to sell a lot of them when he needed money for his legal problems and i think McCartney bought them.
- Matt420, on 02/28/2009, -5/+11Actually a lot of the guitar work is technically difficult, not everyone is a guitar prodigy like yourself.
- ksalminen, on 02/28/2009, -0/+6And the fun little riff from Day Tripper.
- JekJob, on 02/28/2009, -2/+8You can't compare the Beatles to music from the 20s, 30s, 40s or 50s. The Beatles changed music and the world like nobody else had and like nobody else has since.
Whether or not you like them, the point is that they had an extraordinary influence on music and everything else at the time. It wasn't just their music, it was an entire new culture that they represented. I think they're rated right where they should be. And I don't think you should be speaking for "later generations." - JekJob, on 02/28/2009, -2/+8CDs.
- MidnightRIder77, on 02/28/2009, -1/+7Music for drugs*
Fixed - diggduggDOOM, on 02/28/2009, -0/+5Didn't the real Paul already die?

And that's all I need. - Infowarsdotcom, on 02/28/2009, -2/+6I can play it on the Real Life difficulty.
It's actually one of the easiest songs to learn that uses Travis picking. It was the first one I learned... - arkaycee, on 02/28/2009, -0/+4Sad maybe ... but they weren't taken from The Beatles. The Beatles sold the rights.
- lithiumtaoist, on 02/28/2009, -0/+4Hey, you can love Tool and the Beatles. I do!
- jeremymccurdy, on 02/28/2009, -2/+6There's nothing "deep" about it, the Beatles ***** rock.
- alulie, on 02/28/2009, -1/+5"h8t"? Really? Not even just h8?
