I think i'm going to take it down because I REALLY don't feel like getting sued today.
Download the source, and put it on your sites. Keep it alive. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I am now listening to Kanye West's song for the first time ever apart from the short previews on iTunes, and I really enjoy it.. so much so that I'm going to buy the album because I would like to listen on my CD player.
Do you hear me RIAA? Sampling leads to sales you 'tards.
I don't want it unless it's BRAND NEW, you see me in my BRAND NEW crib with my BRAND NEW - ZeNiTRaM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3oops, the comment didn't show ok. anyway, again:
-look for any song you want in radioblogclub.com search engine. example: http://www.radioblogclub.com/search/0/example - look at the link on the song. it's something like this:
javascript:openRadio('h-ttp://illbestnotputanyrealurlonhere.com/whatever/?autoplay=13')
-take out the URL, remove the argument and add at the end "sounds/playlist.php". example: h-ttp://illbestnotputanyrealurlonhere.com/whatever/sounds/playlist.php
-there you go. an xml file with all the songs in the integrated player. download the one you want, rename it to mp3, and do legal things with it.
don't be bad, guys. - _jinx_, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"...so you repackage http://www.radioblogclub.com/ and call it your own?"
No, he took something that didn't work and look write and re-wrote it making it better! Microsoft does it all the time. - Floodle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Now that is useful - the RIAA will gun for you though, even providing a method to get files seems to be against the rules, like p2p sites were shut down not because they actually provided songs, they just provided a way for people to do it. The app is great - I'll use it while it's there - nice work.
- aimless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice job.
Hopefully it stays around for at least a little while... +Digg - Chiablo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Since it's not downloading the files onto the user's machine, I'd say you are safe from any legal reprocussions.
Now then... where's the option to let us download the song to our machine? - willlow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice one. Hope you have a good lawyer. :)
- quasimystery, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Its a bit anti-social to bloggers in my opinion, I think the RIAA will probably use it to sue others(bloggers). When bloggers are not expecting many to listen to the music they host and do not intend to hurt the music industry.

Sorry people, radioblogclub.com changed some code on their site that disabled this application.
Email them and tell them to change it back if you want this to work again.

(get a lawyer though :))... - cheekygeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think most people are missing the real point of this post. He's offering the source code. Everybody reading this could put a copy of it on their own web site (without linking to it) so that only YOU would know the URL for your personal use.
If there is any legal exposure, it is in drawing attention to oneself. If you use your own URL and don't publicize it or link to it from other pages, how is anyone else gonna find it? - mockstar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1haha, it'll never last
- Archangel621, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Definitely a digg but I would follow the advice of those above me :)
- Spartacus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd digg it, but then it'll get popular, digg effect, then c&d from the riaa.
No digg, keep it buried. - nanenj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very interested, source code should be posted aside from just e-mailing you though, that way if they do come after you someone else can pick up where you left off. Regardless of that nitpick, expect an e-mail soon. I'm very interested in producing a command line interface for this.
- ravi., on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what are these for : http://fastboot.com/new_music_search.fla and http://fastboot.com/new_music_search_mx2004.fla ?? :o

- Googled, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I want the sourcecode so, if this does get shutdown, I can running it on my own priv. webserver
free music >.> - PoolyMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty sweet! The sound quality isn't perfect from what I've heard so far, but this is great for checking out new music.
- idiggeverything, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice!
- Yellowone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow...I wouldn't suggest someone rip this guy off but maybe a mirror should be made available.
- zionKing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"what are these for : http://fastboot.com/new_music_search.fla and http://fastboot.com/new_music_search_mx2004.fla ?? :o"
gee, isn't that the flash source for the music player?
#o) - caffo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Brazilian Mirror (google ad supported): http://invoke.com.br/radio/
RIAA can't get us there... Use it forever ;) - wa3yri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1digged to death!

- AF-Geek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice work!
Definite Digg!
Expect an e-mail from me! - digitalsin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Yet another flash app with a horrible interface."
Must there always be some whiney little pussy? - kitykity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Radio Blog Club's website does it for you. You don't need this app. http://www.radioblogclub.com/
- JAWS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1look in c:windowstemporary internet files
the songs are cached (read: copied) there. To change the *.rbs file into an mp3 you simply need to copy the song out of the directory (say to your desktop) and replace *.rbs to *.mp3. Voila the file is yours. :)
Cheers. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does it rely on any files on the server besides the swf? Because I made a mirror, but if its still using any php on your server, whats the point? I don't have flash to look at the source.
Mirror: http://www.bandwidthorbust.com/files/music_search.swf - cryptocom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1very cool...and there's not a think the RIAA can do to the designer. first off, all he did was create an app to search for and play files hosted elsewhere. that's like suing Google because some of their link search results return sites with music on them. secondly, he didnt even create the core app as he stated...he just created a nice interface for it. i say DIGG DIGG DIGG. yes he will probably get a C & D from SOMEONE...but probably not the RIAA. Good job though. This is a great idea. And I love the design.
- boohiss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just want to know how/where/what you search.
- cheekygeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I started a topic in the developers forum, if anyone wants to join me in asking for them to resupport the frontend linked here: http://forums.radioblogclub.com/viewforum.php?f=5
- IncognitoCraven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's possible to download them if you set your mind to it, but it's not worth it. As people have noted the quality is low. Most of the songs I've sampled are at 32 or 64 kbps LAME encoded. So not only are they low bitrate (and rightly so, it's "radio"... save bandwidth etc.) but they're encoded with suboptimal encoders for the range. Now if they were 64kbps MP3Pro...
- BuickMusic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0dugg.....it was born a thing of beauty, it lived a marvelous, yet short life, and now it has died....so who will be the next to figure this out and as a standalone app???......can't wait!!!
- JAWS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^^weird, it left out my backslashes you can figure it out though.
- alchemista, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0fix it
- RaistlinMajere, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Appears to be dead now. Searches return no results. Well it was nice for the couple of hours that it lasted...
- steveman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice idea, digg, but interface totally sucks!
