- djgump35, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I will stick with Pandora on this one
- fleischner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Problem is, you have to listen to them all at the same time...
- Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I'd say its 336 short... >:|
- wayniethep00p, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5why one thousand and ONE?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Altrough radio3net is a Romanian Website, the music is good and u can find allot of albums from the 50's to 2005.
Quality is good 192KBPS. - idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I've never heard of radioblugclub.com, but http://last.fm/ pwns Pandora. It's got member profiles, groups, and band pages that all track statistics and relationships. It even has plugins for your normal music app so you can stream to it, and stuff you don't stream gets added to your profile. Most Linux clients have built-in support for it too, so that's easy to check out for anyone who uses Linux.
- wiredclimber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@ chosenone: Pandora expiring? You are wrong sir. Pandora is free for as long as you want to listen and for as often as you want, no need to pay ever.
Dunno where you'd get an idea otherwise... - Barnstormer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Although I haven't been able to listen to any of it yet (all hail the power of digg), I have to admit that whoever put that list together has fantastic taste.
- rbtroj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Cool site - I like the idea, however I had problems connecting to the actual tunes - browser setting possibly? or just the geographic distance maybe? Looks like they got a big selection. I'll have to try it at home.
Another cool site with free tunes: http://thesongoftheday.com
from earlier digg submission:http://digg.com/music/One_band_One_year_365_free_songs - Smog2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3..Site down..
Free = they can't afford a server to handle 10 or more hits. - dude3609, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3..What are you talking about? Pandora is free. Ive been using it for almost 2 years now and it has never asked for money or expired my account. Ive never gave them a penny. My friends use it too.. lol
Straight from their FAQ:
"Q: How much does it cost?
Pandora is available in two forms. Both versions have exactly the same features.
The first form is an advertising-supported version which is entirely free. Over time we'll be incorporating ads into this version of Pandora.
For those who want to steer clear of advertising, subscriptions are available in two different flavors:
ANNUAL: 12 months of unlimited use for $36
QUARTERLY: 3 months of unlimited use for $12"
This whole thing is powered by flash, and thats where you see the ads.. But i rarely ever even see any ads. - dude3609, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2so they can say, "Over one thousand albums!"
kind of like the whole 99 store where they say everything is under a dollar. - schwab002, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wow, surprisingly good list of albums. pretty cool, but i'll stick to torrents and buying cds.
- madamspud169, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've had a look at the Google cache and I'm going to be downloading as soon as I can actually get on the site if it hasn't been blocked by the powers that be that is
- keano, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3really cool site!
- RaisedFist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Romania 3 is a public radio station in Romania and they have all the rights to broadcast this music. I know there are many ways you can record it, but they suppose you won't do it.... I think.
- SimonUK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Over 1000!"
- dajs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dont forget Jamendo http://www.jamendo.com , it has 21383 tracks atm alot of good stuff too
- stevetures, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1anyone care to post the list in the comments (as the site is down)?
- nazsco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1mms stream. up their arses
- ducksoup18, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Check out pandoras jar. It might not be legal, but you're basically able to dld all the songs. Pandora just basically dld's the songs (128kbp/s...Decent, not great though) and what this little java app does is renames these files and moves them to a album directory. Pandora puts the music there, this app just takes advantage of it.
hxxp://www.hak5.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=828&start=0 - dude3609, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thats not alot of songs when you split up the genres..
- dude3609, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1radioblogclub.com **
almost like a web based limewire, only you cant download the songs but you can listen to em and stick em on your myspace page or whatever in a flash player.. And theyre pretty good about keeping ads off the site. - makomike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0AND there's imeem;
their selection is vast !
Again, listen free online.
http://www.imeem.com/music/featured/
I've built a page with ALL of these links on it as well as a few handpicked imeem tunes.
http://makomitt.homestead.com/music.html - v4pe, on 02/20/2009, -0/+0very nice. you can find more great music at http://www.supertightstuff.com
- markdr123, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Free? FREE? Wow!
- hundge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually it is a list done by Robert Dimery a British journalist. I think this book contains the same list http://www.amazon.com/1001-Albums-Must-Hear-Before/dp/0789313715/sr=8-1/qid=1167856052/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-2890529-5904827?ie=UTF8&s=books
- dude3609, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1a couple of sites i use are:
http://radioblogclub.com/
and
http://pandora.com/ - Its not exactly 'download anything you want' but more of a radio thing. Sounds lame at first but when you put in what band you like the most, you can hit dislike on the songs you dont like and it will never play them again. Hit the up arrow if you like em and it will play more songs similar to that tune. Its best to create your own profile on it so you can personalize it better.
Both of them are free. - dogchunx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll stick with last.fm
- coditza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Radio3net has a very long history behind. It started, as someone suggested, as an FM radio station, called Radio Romania Tineret (or Radio 3). I know that station from when I was 12 (I'm 24 right now :D). For 2-3 years now, they are exclusively online and apart the big collection of tunes you can listen online, they also have a 24/7 show, an irc network, where you can chat with the guys on the show and only 2 commercials (AFAIK). So, yeah, they can't handle the digg effect :)
Also, you have to admit that the purpose of this station is the show, not the free music for everyone. - handeyman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1http://albumbase.com
http://warezsource.ws - Mihai12345, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Google is your friend.
Here's their cache of the page thttp://www.google.com/search?q=cache%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.radio3net.ro%2F1001%2F&sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGGL,GGGL:2006-25,GGGL:en - theguy23, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Is this legal? A most of the albums there seem like they should still be under copyright. Or did Abbey Road lapse into the public domain while I wasn't looking?
I mean, not that anyone cares... - hswwashington, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0the site broke on me when i tried to connect
- sohail1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0cool site dude.....i'm downloadin' right now

- Wickedboss, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Dugg
- chosenone-, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Pandora unfortunately isn't free and expires after a certain amount of songs, then you need to either pay up or move out... for shame :(
- irchs, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1You can download another free album right here: http://eatmacadamia.com/soundspill.php
Thanks
