- darienphoenix, on 08/12/2008, -0/+11Jikul, no *****, really?
- Jikul, on 08/12/2008, -6/+3Yep! Didn't you know that? How is that possible? Here's some of the lyrics:
I did it all for the nookie, c'mon
The nookie, c'mon

- zerhynn, on 08/12/2008, -1/+9The nookie?
- explicitmemory, on 08/11/2008, -12/+52Limp ***** is one of the worst things that ever happened to music.
- electricwaffles, on 08/11/2008, -2/+33Kid Rock is pretty terrible too. Didn't nookie and baw-wit-a-ba come out around the same time? What a dark age for music.
- Pvisi111, on 08/11/2008, -0/+50As much as that span of music sucked..look at what we have now. "Soulja Boy" is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. The "I kissed a girl" song has been number one on the charts for 8 weeks now. If that isn't the epitome of the downfall of music, I don't know what is.
- mufffin, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4I'VE GOT THE POWER!
- Kyrgizion, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4Don't blame the artists - don't even blame the consumers (though still). Blame the companies which keep shoving crap like this down our throats at every possible turn, making people lose their critical mind and accept everything as "entertainment", no matter how unfounded and ***** boring it may actually be.
Limp Bizkit is gone and we won't miss it, but its place on the throne of ***** music is taken and likely will be for years to come. - DeathfireD, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4@Kyrgizion - well clearly that's not entirely true since the whole reason anyone even gave a ***** artist like Soulja Boy attention was because thousands of teens and young people where listening to his ***** on youtube. So in a way it's a mixture of both marketing and stupid young people that mess up the world of music.
- MiddleOfNowhere, on 08/12/2008, -1/+11All this cross-over, nu-metal, Frankenstein-ish "Rap, meet Metal" stuff was fun for, well, a few weeks. Of all the ridiculous posers who came after this routine got old, Limp Bizkit were undoubtedly the worst. Music by retards for retards.
(Actually, what is it that these pseudo-cross-overs always seem to combine the *worst* of two genres? I mean, look at this freak show: Fred Durst, Kid Rock, the Merry Band of Little Wankers that is Linkin Park - WTF?)- dcasp82, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3Hey, it's not the genre it's the crappy bands within. Rap metal had Rage Against the Machine which was an intelligent musical venture.
It is, however, agreeable that most of the others sucked. - xiojqwnko, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2(hed) pe self titled album was good back then, although theyre a big pile of ***** now.
- rpgmaker, on 08/13/2008, -0/+1Linkin Park was cool. Basically they were the last good band to come from the 'rap meet metal' that you're talking about.
- dcasp82, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3Hey, it's not the genre it's the crappy bands within. Rap metal had Rage Against the Machine which was an intelligent musical venture.
- Falldog, on 08/12/2008, -2/+32I'll still take Limp over Soulja Boy
- goosegoosegoose, on 08/12/2008, -1/+8Don't use affectionate terms for a ***** band...it's just not kosher
- ppp0, on 08/12/2008, -0/+5or Sean Kingston : What's with all the ***** music these days?
- shauntacular, on 08/12/2008, -0/+5That's like saying I'd rather have a rusty nail slowly jammed in my eye than sulfuric acid poured in my ear.
- lartones, on 08/12/2008, -1/+6I don't know, I Listen to everything from Chimaira to Pink Floyd and I did enjoy "3 dollar bill Y'all" when it came out and I was 15. It was them in their raw state and Fred's voice wasn't so *****' winey.
- LeonHRodriguez, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Chimaira is an excellent band (aside from their singer).
- lartones, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1I dont know, I think their singer is perfect for them. sure he can't sing, but that isn't what Chimaira is about.
- JayceMJ, on 08/21/2008, -1/+0Obviously Chimaira isn't about that because he can't sing.
- JimW311, on 08/12/2008, -1/+2Yeah limp bizkit is terrible!! I mean look at all the other great era's like. Backstreet Boyz, N Sync. Brittany Spears, Christina Aguilara. And as they already stated, Soulja Boy. But you can't compare those to Limp Bizkit because there is SOOOO much better out there. /sarcasm
- sfacets, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3Limp Biscuit is to rock as Vanilla Ice is to Rap.
- electricwaffles, on 08/11/2008, -2/+33Kid Rock is pretty terrible too. Didn't nookie and baw-wit-a-ba come out around the same time? What a dark age for music.
- markgl, on 08/11/2008, -5/+17someone is mad. geez.
- Pvisi111, on 08/11/2008, -18/+13Well I must admit I liked their first two CDs. "Faith", "Break Stuff", and "Rearranged" were all stupid, but good songs. After "Significant Other" they completely blew though.
- hmd1987, on 08/11/2008, -3/+17Wes Boreland was a good rock-guitarist, and that's why he left the band.
He knew Durst's (as you admitted) stupid lyrics overshadowed his own musical ability.- Apocalyptic0n3, on 08/12/2008, -3/+7...
Wes Borland. Not Boreland. - ZombieSociety, on 08/12/2008, -0/+8Yes, he was good, so he left.
Now why did he rejoin? - hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -0/+5"..why did he rejoin?"
pure and simple: money
why else do bands reunite?
same reason.
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 08/12/2008, -3/+7...
- hmd1987, on 08/11/2008, -3/+17Wes Boreland was a good rock-guitarist, and that's why he left the band.
- darkchild82, on 08/11/2008, -11/+31I liked *some* of their songs, it was cool for it's time. But they surely deserved a better frontman. Fred Durst sounded like a wimp for someone who posed as a badass. And you gotta admit, their cover of the Mission Impossible theme was pretty cool.
- evan193, on 08/12/2008, -0/+8basically what you're getting at here is the same thing the article said in the final paragraph. the band had some unbelievable riffs, but fred durst just ruined every song. i can honestly say if limp bizkit had any other singer, they wouldnt be remembered like this. come to think of it, they probly wouldnt have had such a douchey name either.
- Evilblobs, on 08/11/2008, -15/+5Yes, Bizkit is the single source of the death of intellect in society....
Also buried for musical pretentious...ness- hmd1987, on 08/11/2008, -2/+5downfall of intellect in the world of music...you can certainly
attribute their music to that. as well as many other artists.
buried for basically saying it's pretentious to state an opinion..ness
- hmd1987, on 08/11/2008, -2/+5downfall of intellect in the world of music...you can certainly
- IanPR, on 08/12/2008, -12/+12When you say "downfall", it implies that they had intellect to begin with...
- TTT1, on 08/12/2008, -16/+7Hey Bizkit:
Keep on rolling!
...(into failure)
But to all you haters, you gotta admit his songs can be amusing sometimes.- DesertDude, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3Bizkit is not a guy's name.
- SDM187, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1It's the dog's....
- DesertDude, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3Bizkit is not a guy's name.
- kjartan, on 08/12/2008, -15/+8i don't care what anyone says - three dollar bill y'all was ***** awesome. the music was great, and fred durst actually had something to be pissed about (even though it was kinda whiney). then they started making bubblegum music about a bunch of nothing. "rollin'"? what is that song about anyway?
- geebs61, on 08/12/2008, -0/+5Rollin' bitch! Weren't you listenin'?
- Blankcheque, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4Thank you!
Limp Bizkit as a group had talent.
It wasn't until Durst turned in an angry balding douche bag, who slept with his band mates wives, and said, what are you going to do I'm the face of the band?
Durst single handedly ruined the potential of that group by being a douchnozzle of epic proportions.- DeathfireD, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2I had always assumed he just moved into the playboy mansion and stopped making ***** music lol. After all every interview we saw with him between 2000-2001 was of him in the mansion or in a pool with women from playboy.
- Ryan166, on 08/12/2008, -16/+12If you didn't listen to Limp Bizkit in 1999, what the ***** were you listening to??
- MasterJ26, on 08/12/2008, -9/+6Amen, brother!
- VinnieDaMac, on 08/12/2008, -9/+6I agree, even if you don't like them now, you know you liked them back in the day.
- pescado555, on 08/12/2008, -3/+7And what changed your ability to enjoy that music from then to now?
Besides how embarrassed you would be if you were caught by your peers listening to it.(Which is how most people go about deciding what kind of music they listen to.)- VinnieDaMac, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4Someone's taste in music can't change over time?
- pescado555, on 08/12/2008, -5/+0Your "taste" in music is nothing more than what music want your peers to notice you listening to. So yes your musical taste can change. But your ability to enjoy music does not.
- dankers, on 08/12/2008, -1/+4Remember how you used to watch Barney as a kid?
Well you don't anymore... - Elranzer, on 08/13/2008, -0/+1I didn't like them then, and they're laughable now.I have good taste in music.
- MiddleOfNowhere, on 08/12/2008, -2/+10Is this a rhetorical question; as in: "Were there even any other bands around?" :)
How about these: Smashing Pumpkins, U.N.K.L.E., Appliance, Beck, Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Plaid, Sigur Rós' first album, Filter (yeah, another bunch of posers, but very talented posers :), Kashmir, Live, Nine Inch Nails,Skunk Anansie, Sneaker Pimps, St Germain and truckloads of Underworld ...
YMMV.- ATLien74, on 08/12/2008, -4/+2And you think Limp Bizkit is bad...
- iLEZ, on 08/12/2008, -1/+8Skinny Puppy, Nick Cave, The Legendary Pink Dots, Dead can Dance, Welle:Erdball, Kraftwerk.
But for every song i have heard by those bands, i have heard that DAMN song twice! "Rollingrollingrolling!" How can a person sing that song with a straight face? I was disgusted by it back then and i am disgusted by it now. It was the final proof for me that people no longer have control over what they listen to, and it cemented my opinion that no good can come from the music industry in its current form. - frumpsnake, on 08/12/2008, -0/+14Looking at CDs i bought as a 15/16 year old back in 1999:
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile
Foo Fighters - There Is Nothing Left To Lose
Beck - Midnite Vultures
Muse - Showbiz
Rage Against The Machine - The Battle of LA
The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin
Not to mention the pre-99 CDs that got regular use in my Discman (remember those?) that year - Pretty much everything from the Smashing Pumpkins at the time, Radiohead's OK Computer, Tool's Aenima, NIN's The Downward Spiral, Marilyn Manson's Mechanical Animals and Antichrist Superstar, Garbage's Version 2.0, Cake's Fashion Nugget and Prolonging The Magic plus a bunch of others.
My tastes might have changed and matured since then, but there's nothing downright embarassing that I was listening to back then.
It's not 1999's fault you didn't listen to the good music it had to offer.- stk198323, on 08/12/2008, -1/+2@frumpsnake
The problem is that in 99 the only thing we would hear was Limp Bizkit, Backstreet Boy's, Britney Spears, etc!
You knew those group from before so you bought there stuff, but if you didn't knew them then you wouldn't hear there song because only the group I mentioned (plus a few other copies: N Sync and Christina Aguilera for example) was airing. Young person are almost always listening to what they know and in rock what they could get to know as a band was Limp Bizkit and this was better then a lot of other band for them! - MiddleOfNowhere, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3@ stk198323
"The problem is that in 99 the only thing we would hear was Limp Bizkit, Backstreet Boy's, Britney Spears, etc!"
Sorry, but *why*? Did someone force you at gunpoint? If so, this sounds like a crime against humanity. Call the UN! :)
Seriously: This is the old argument of peer pressure. Yet it's young people who are supposed to go out and discover the new, interesting, mindboggling stuff.
Admittedly, I listened to some terrible, terrible mainstream ***** like everybody else when I was a kid.
But I also spent a lot of time in record shops (yeah; it was vinyl back then) to discover new, interesting music. This took time and money. An album cost my whole allowance for a month, and if I made the wrong pick, I was ***** - no returns. Today (and even in 1999), the Internet has made finding new music so easy.
Anyway. It always takes time to develop taste for good music. And it's hard to start when everyone else is satisfied with junk. It doesn't mean *you* have to be satisfied with junk. There is a world of great bands out there, and it always has been. - boombye, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1@ stk
I listened to the same music as frump.. In fact, the only reason I ever knew of those mainstream no talent pop musicians you listed, is because of some suburban girls, but my friends and I were from the city and had never heard of half the music they had which included N'Sync and stuff.. Sure it might have been mainstream radio stuff, but we were always out trying to find something to do and always had our own music on us...I never even liked the radio when I was in elementary school, certainly not in junior high, and in my high school years, I don't think I even bothered. I remember bugging the crap out of my grandma to get me this Nirvana cd when I was like in 3rd grade, she's cool so she got it for me. But yeah there's no excuse for listening to those you listed, they were crap from the start, and I considered ***** like that and emo music to be for the American Pie crowd or ***** for the new generation or incoming freshmen(Since lots of that stuff came out around the time I was 17) - warplayer, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2@stk I was mainly listening to local punk bands, ones that I struggle to find any of their music today. Great music, although very under appreciated.
It's not our fault you never looked past the radio or MTV for your music.

sincerely,
the author- geebs61, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2At least you have accepted it.

- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -2/+5"and why the hell is an article about Limp Bizkit doing on the front page of digg in 2008."
i guess it's a testament to the author...?
not a very intellectual question, plus you ended it with a period.
- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -2/+5"and why the hell is an article about Limp Bizkit doing on the front page of digg in 2008."
- WoollyMittens, on 08/12/2008, -5/+9They turned the Mission Impossible theme song from a 5 quarts beat to a 4 quarts beat, that's their biggest crime.
- ATLien74, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2I like the gallon beats better.
- LeonHRodriguez, on 08/12/2008, -2/+2While we're on the subject, was I the only person who thought "I Disappear" from the Mission Impossible 2 soundtrack (by Metallica) was an excellent song?
- drudometkin, on 08/12/2008, -6/+4I graduated from high school in 99'. i used to like em back then probably b/c I was 17/18 years old. Good memories and bad ones too..
- Menoats, on 08/12/2008, -9/+16OK buried for two reason 1. The d00d calls Global warming fake and compares it to Y2K plus he just insults Limp Bizkit not explaining why or what happened to them ***** article. It would be like me writing an article on how stupid pogs were, no *****.
- hammburglar, on 08/12/2008, -0/+26dont you dare call pogs stupid you son of a bitch.
- Menoats, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1My apologizes I forgot this was a sensitive topic.
- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -3/+5"wahhhhh he compares an issue that's being made out to be

p.s. i do think global warming is real, just b/c i say it's not
going to ruin our world doesn't mean that i think it's fake.
i forgive you though, you probably just finished listening to "rollin"- Menoats, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Hahaha well that and I was tired. Reading it at 3 AM, I would apologize for burying you down but I already apologized to those pog assholes.
- beckerist, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1I think the biggest problem with the global warming issue is that people are adhering to their emotional response to a potential disaster, not actually looking for scientific proof. I'm not saying global warming is fake at all. I'm saying that no one really knows, and the only people who claim to generally have something to gain in doing so.
- hammburglar, on 08/12/2008, -0/+26dont you dare call pogs stupid you son of a bitch.
- pescado555, on 08/12/2008, -7/+4The lyrics may not have been artistic or intelligent but the music was catchy as made clear by how popular it became. This goes for current mainstream music as well. If you don't focus on how much you hate mainstream music due to lyrics you will find that its not terrible by a long shot.
- christianw, on 08/12/2008, -10/+1man that article kinda bugs me. I mean I dont mind someone saying "i dont like limp bizkit" but blaming fred durst for nickelback is a STRETCH.
nickelback isnt that bad a band either if you like modern hard rock.
That said, sam rivers is an AMAZING bassist and wes is an incredible guitarist.
again i dont mind someone hating on fred, or any band, thats a matter of taste which everyone is entitled to. But blaming them for nickelback? Epic fail- goosegoosegoose, on 08/12/2008, -2/+5Nickelback makes some of the most boring, bland music mine ears have doth heard.

- willynilly, on 08/12/2008, -6/+4This article's premise and execution suck. Lim Bizkit was stupid, but not the stupidest by any means, and not the harbinger of intellectual doom. That doom was already clear.
I credit AOL for putting droves of ***** online for the first time and making it clear to America and the world just how many abjectly stupid human beings populate the United States in particular.- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -1/+1it's more that Bizkit was a factor in the downfall of intellect...but yeah you're right - AOL SUCKS TOO
- iLEZ, on 08/12/2008, -2/+4I hate Limp Bizkit and rap-metal as much as the next guy, and i think the author makes a valid point, to say the least, but try putting this text next to the brilliant text abount Orson Scott Card that figured on Digg earlier. See what i mean? Just because something obviously sucks doesn't mean you can sleep your way through debunking it. Four paragraphs of critizism with no beginning and no end shouldn't pass quality-control.

- riverstyx, on 08/12/2008, -2/+3Sigh..I was around when 3 dollar bill was all the news. After that one wore out, we all just lost interest..Everything after that was just so vapid and obnoxious.
- spider418, on 08/12/2008, -3/+3Fred Durst does have a good taste in music...
He did discover Kenna... She Wants Revenge and Ringside are ok too...- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4spider, i agree with you. post-bizkit Durst is certainly much more tolerable,
and a lot less d-bag-ish.- royalwcheese, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Apparently hmd is the author seeing how he repiles to every single comment.
- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4spider, i agree with you. post-bizkit Durst is certainly much more tolerable,

- krytz86, on 08/12/2008, -1/+3Nickleback are the ***** band ever, I'd take Celine Dion over them.
- spiritditch, on 08/12/2008, -1/+1I'd take Celine Dion. Period.
- ruinedbydesign, on 08/19/2008, -0/+1I would also take Celine Dion's period.

- sunsunych, on 08/12/2008, -4/+3LB is a major factor responsible for an intellectual downfall? come on, dont take that serious. LB wasn't neither cool nor it sucked. LB (and firstly mr Durst) were being charismatic. but that's not the point. if there was an intellectual downfall, only poeple themselve are reponsible for ir
- alaskanassassin, on 08/12/2008, -2/+4dugg for comparing Y2K and man-made global warming.
- DesertDude, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3Article is short. I thought it was going to be tougher and longer.
Well, nothing will beat AllMusicGuide's utter destruction of Limp's last album:
http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:kc ...
That's how you rip a crappy band apart.- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -1/+3just wanted to make it short-and-sweet.
i understand you're criticism though; i assure you
that i wanted to make it longer!
you can read the other entries of mine to pass the time.
the nickelback-bashing one seems to be getting a lot of views too.- DesertDude, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3Thanks. I'll check them out. Props for hating crap. That's essential in good taste. *high five*

videos that make me feel like i'm about to die from laughter are usually the

- kitkompo, on 08/13/2008, -0/+0dude, its the Indian version of Bruce Campbell, lol. i was waitin for some deadites to start attacking them.

- enuary, on 08/12/2008, -1/+6I don't think Limp Bizkit ever took pride in "making people dumber", they were awful, but I definitely don't think they were a major factor in the "downfall of intellect". This article is pseudo-intellectual garbage. The author claims they were responsible for making people less intelligent but does not say how. I actually felt dumber after reading this.
- enuary, on 08/12/2008, -1/+0And yes, it IS pretentious to give an opinion that you think is smarter than everyone else's
- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -1/+1please quote the part in which the author says "My opinion is superior to every one else's."
buried for not being able to offer such evidence. - enuary, on 08/12/2008, -0/+0I said smarter, not superior.

- binaryloop, on 08/12/2008, -3/+2Snoop Dogg was the only thing they ever had going for them. Too bad he wasn't in the band.
"Jump in the who ride, slide to the rhythm of
Snoop D.o. double G ***** from the dub
I represent it to the fullest everywhere I go
Guaranteed to bust a ho, yeah I'm so original
I don't have to, I told you from the get go
I like to lay low with my ***** blowin' endo
We like to drink, talk *****, and spit at bitches
And that's the way we do it, sometimes we hittin' switches
In the low-rider slidin' to the hood and back
It's snoop dogg in the *****' cadillac
They call it Snoop Deville for real
I get the money and I never ever pop no pills
I used to pop'em, I'm lyin' to these ***** now
I used to do all kind of ***** when I was wild
They used to call me Lil Bow Wow, now I'm Big Bow Wow
In this ***** bustin' a freestyle
Snoop Dogg is in the place to see
Do it with my nephew Freddy D.
Ooh wee, in the place to see
Snoop D.o. double G from the D.P.G.C." - Seph7, on 08/12/2008, -3/+26Ok hands up, who still has limp bizkit in their mp3 collection.
- MisterMAthside, on 08/12/2008, -0/+0i've got their 1st 2 albums, because i think the 3rd album made them real *******
- jgaspar, on 08/12/2008, -3/+5The Downfall of Intellect
The Uprise of Wiggers - Fallout911, on 08/12/2008, -3/+5Their first CD was good the rest sucked dick.
- Whitey07, on 08/12/2008, -1/+8A lot of Limp Bizkit hate here..
...which is ***** awesome! - aslanrec, on 08/12/2008, -5/+3This writer is a moron. Limp Bizkit fans of any age or time are morons. Sorry. They were never good.
- imnojezus, on 08/12/2008, -2/+4"Fred Durst had some how managed to rhyme the word 'nookie' with 'cookie'."
Some how? Guess the downfall of intellect continues.- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -3/+2yep, it sure does continue. you obviously didn't understand how the line
that you quoted was being sarcastic - how can anyone not realize
how dumb-of-a-rhyme that is?
- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -3/+2yep, it sure does continue. you obviously didn't understand how the line
- PrestonBworth, on 08/12/2008, -4/+5As much as I was looking foward to a good Fred Durst bashing, this article doesn't do it. This article is like hot dog flavored water.....or a chocolate star fish or some sheet. Limp Bizkit was rockin' the set, it was like rushin roulette when I was 15. I really liked their "three dolla bill yall". I also liked Korn, the deftones, and whole bunch of other really BAD bands. I started playing guitar shortly after, and I realized what utter crap my generation had for music. I'd much rather be a teen now and be listening the MCR rather than LB. MCR might be a bit on the puss side, but atleast they have talent.
The funny thing is Fred looks like he is 50 years old, he looks older then the guys in Montly Crew who came out like 10 years before LB. No wonder britney didn't want his hotdog flavored hotdog.- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -3/+1I didn't think the digg community had patience to endure all
the bashing that i WANTED to do in that article...after all, i see cleavage pics
go-pop in less than an hour within submission.
for instance, your comment will probably get buried since it's
over 20 words. - computerguydk, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Are you seriously grouping the Deftones with Limp Bizkit? Their music doesn't suck at all. How can you not like Around the Fur and White Pony, among several other good albums?
- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -3/+1I didn't think the digg community had patience to endure all
- smcnow, on 08/12/2008, -1/+2Yes, the effects are clearly evident in the author's post.
"I could have had class, I could have been an intellectual, I could have been somebody instead of a Limp Bizkit fan which is what I am. Lets face it. It was you Fred."- hmd1987, on 08/12/2008, -2/+1all you do is comment. please leave digg.
- xEn1gma, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2Awww...someone is butt hurt I see.
Maybe if you weren't such a ***** and vague writer, you wouldn't have this criticism now would you hmd1987? - smcnow, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2Man, gone are the days are the friendly grammar Nazis (yeah, I missed an apostrophe, take me out back and shoot me.) Now, it's GTF off "my" site. At least we are all safe knowing there is someone going around to check the history of everyone on Digg and I can be sure that no matter how apropos or inane a comment I leave, at least my dear young friend hmd1987 will read it.
- xEn1gma, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2Awww...someone is butt hurt I see.
