- neonbible, on 06/17/2008, -7/+488There's nothing like standing in a crowd and chanting curse words with thousands of others to a person who thinks so highly of himself.
- DesertDude, on 06/18/2008, -22/+408The Bonnaroo audience members don't care about black people.

Or he just sucks at life, you decide - inactive, on 06/18/2008, -7/+233He was too busy calling up Daft Punk because he forgot the lyrics.
- someguyouknow, on 06/18/2008, -8/+208He was probably out back having a hissy fit about something.
One of his servents probably served his imported spring water too warm or something. - thedogfatherx, on 06/18/2008, -28/+192Kayne West sucks. I don't see why people think he is that great.
Oh yeah, Bush hates black people.

WHERE IN THE HELL IN BONNAROO!!SOME WANNA BE GANGSTA'S THAT CANNOT RESPECT WHEN A LEGITIMATE RAPPER AND ARTIST IS HAVING AN IMPACT ON THE WORLD! How dare you boo someone who got the world to take Katrina seriously and is changing the face of hip hop into something that even Barack Obama can listen to! So your bratty asses had to wait! Did you ever consider that it might be due to technical difficulties! I want everyone one of you Buckaroo oh, I'm sorry Bonnaroo Bitches to come bring that ***** to the South Side of Chicago and watch Rev. Jeremiah Wright "god-damn" all you sons of bitches. Do not ***** with my Kanye or Bonnaroo will be *****. Whens the last time you heard of anything worth mentioning coming out of Buckeroo! ***** off, and be grateful. No one has even heard of your off the map city, state, or farm or whereever you are! But I will say this, I damn well doubt your town is producing any thing close to Kanye!!!! Why don't you stand up and contribute something to the world instead of breast feeding off of it. Maybe then we'd hear of your dull city!! - herbertstrasse, on 06/18/2008, -15/+165am I the only one who thinks that Kanye is incredibly overrated?
lupe fiasco ftw. - Doopdoop, on 06/18/2008, -16/+149***** Kanye
- freshyill, on 06/18/2008, -5/+122I headed back to the camp site after Pearl Jam got done (it was about 1:02 a.m., not 1:15 as some articles say), with no intention of waiting until the scheduled time to see Kanye. Some of the drug-addled kids from the tent next to us stayed up, and we talked to them in the morning. Basically, people were *pissed*. They said that about three songs into his set, there was barely anybody left in the audience.
OK, now on to the unsubstantiated rumors....
My sister knows somebody who had an artist's pass for Bonnaroo, meaning he was backstage. The word is that somebody gave Kanye a hit of acid, and he was freaking out about performing for a bunch of hippies.
I can't say whether that's true or not, but the story did at least come from somebody who was backstage. - buzzair, on 06/18/2008, -2/+119lol, found on the Wikipedia page
"Kanye West was originally supposed to perform at 8:15 PM on Saturday at Which Stage, during Jack Johnson's 8:00 show at What Stage, but he requested to be changed to What Stage at 2:45 AM[citation needed], the announced reason being that he wanted to perform his set from his recent Glow In The Dark tour after nightfall. The show was delayed until 4:25 AM. Many fans missed Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, and Chali 2na's respective sets while waiting for Kanye, which would not have happened had the audience been informed of the delay from the outset. Those who had timed their LSD trips to coincide with Kanye's light show saw their drugs wear off before the show began. During the course of the show West made no attempt to apologize for the delays or even acknowledge them, sticking completely to his scripted set from his tour. This, along with the fact that his set lasted only one hour (instead of the hour and a half he had been listed to do on Which Stage), angered many fans, leading Robert Randolph to proclaim at his set later that day that "Kanye sucks!". This was also mentioned by Rogue Wave and Broken Social Scene, who pointed out that they would never disrespect their fans in such a way. The slogan "Kanye sucks!" was quickly picked up by disgruntled fans, and chants of "***** Kanye" were common throughout the final day's activities. Even the festival's wall of graffiti near the entrance soon bore a stern "Kanye sucks" banner. Another banner said "Jay-Z wouldn't be late"
Just in case you missed it...."Those who had timed their LSD trips to coincide with Kanye's light show saw their drugs wear off before the show began." - amanilaenvelope, on 06/18/2008, -6/+108An example of how fame can turn you into a *****.
- badwithcomputer, on 06/18/2008, -2/+93I heard he went on so damn late that the sun was actually coming up by the end of his "Glow in the Dark" show...FAIL.
- Allymarie, on 06/18/2008, -1/+91I was there.
Kanye first moved his time slot because he didnt want to compete with Jack Johnson. By 2:30, Phil Lesh and friends were still jamming out well into the morning, Kanye made them stop playing their encoures. His stage was completely set up by 3:30 and he STILL made the audience wait an extra hour. When he finally took the stage, he played for less then an hour and didnt address the audience at all. It was him and his mic repeating the same lyrics thats on the cd. No band, no improve, just Kanye being an ego tard.
People were throwing glow sticks and ***** at the stage, lots of "***** kanye" vandalism, and Robert Plant lead a "Kanye Sucks" chant the next day at his show. - EatingPie, on 06/18/2008, -41/+123The two times I saw Guns 'N' Roses they were excessively late. The first time, they scheduled a concert to start at 6pm -- rush hour -- in an insanely crowded part of Orange County. I've never seen a concert start at that time, and I'm convinced they did it to cause greater traffic. Ha Ha. Joke was on us -- who paid to see them. They showed at 8:30pm, off a helicopter.
I swore to never see them again, but was given a ticket to a San Diego show. They showed up 4 hours after their opening band, Soundgarden, finished, 7pm show and they entered around 1am. Axl Rose came on stage with a Charles Manson shirt on, and later whined about giving their ex-drummer "more than a million bucks" of his own personal money. Wow.
After releasing the most successful album of all time (at that time), they crashed and burned. Treating their fans like garbage, all the while whining about massive amounts of money... I laugh every time I hear any of the ex-band members mentioned.
-Pie - dteresh, on 06/18/2008, -1/+75Yeah, the whole Kanye thing was a serious *****, but to be honest, I don't think most of the people at Bonnaroo were that interested in seeing Kanye perform anyway. Personally, I just passed out after the Sigur Ros set and didn't even think about going to Kanye's 2:45 set.
The day after his performance was hilarious, however, with crowds walking out after concerts chanting "***** kanye" and the walls around Centeroo being decorated with "kanye sucks". - trpnblies7, on 06/18/2008, -8/+81Dugg for Pearl Jam playing an hour past their allocated time. Can't wait to see them on Friday.
- zero21xxx, on 06/18/2008, -5/+74What you did there; I see it.

- dteresh, on 06/18/2008, -0/+64I don't have any pics of the portaloos, but I thought this thing on a Centeroo wall was pretty funny: http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/3756/2586022634 ...
- bjs3171, on 06/18/2008, -0/+64Robert Plant? DAMN. One of the most important, and best artists in rock history telling you you suck. Ouch.

- stonewaljacksn, on 06/18/2008, -15/+75wow u 3 losers are so ***** corny. so he writes a long comment and has a ***** name tag thing at the end. does it REALLY bother you that much? are you seriously such big insecure ***** losers that you have to tear HIM up for leaving comments that you don't even have to look at just so you can feel better about yourselves? well...do you feel better?
you would think that Pie's name tag was beating you with a damn crowbar by the way you are all bitching about it...but no...it's just sitting there harmlessly on a computer screen doing nothing except drudging up some projections out of your own douchebag heads. - TheDiceMan, on 06/18/2008, -0/+5804:40 - http://www.flickr.com/photos/jik24601/2588492504/

that was a joke, right? - OhTheHumanity1, on 06/18/2008, -12/+60I work for his fan club and let me tell you how this is EXACTLY like Kanye
- via509, on 06/18/2008, -1/+45Kanye West does not care about Bonnaroo People
- bemenaker, on 06/18/2008, -4/+46Kayne West, Metallica, wow, Bonaroo has really lost it's way hasn't it. Down the tubes, just like Woodstock.
- bylarke, on 06/18/2008, -3/+45What kind of tool are you that you work for Kanye's fan club. Especially if you have that opnion of him.
- slvrbullet87, on 06/18/2008, -0/+41Well that just proves he isn't a musician, all of the greats went on stage after dropping acid
- Shakermaker, on 06/18/2008, -6/+46Kanye isn't HALF as important, or talented as he thinks he is. He is nothing more than a minor-league rapper with major league hype.
***** Kanye. - wfofbass, on 06/18/2008, -4/+44i like how he thinks people look at south side chicago with admiration and not fear. i'd rather people have not heard of where i live then be scared ***** to ever set foot there.
- backoff34, on 06/18/2008, -3/+41All people were saying the next day was "***** KANYE WEST!"
What a piece of *****.
Chali2Na was where it was at during that timeframe, 3:45 to 5:10, rocked the ***** out with some Jurassic 5 and Galactic.
The sun was coming up, and Kanye's voice was going out as we passed the main stage to head back, his show was a total failure, and they better not book him ever again. - stfucupcake, on 06/18/2008, -2/+39Yeah we got that part.
- alabare, on 06/18/2008, -0/+36Not sure Kanye fans are playing with a full deck...so who knows.
- brakes4turtles, on 06/18/2008, -0/+34I sat there until 4am waiting for him, and then decided I wouldn't enjoy the show because he was obviously waiting for most of the other acts to end before he went on. Plus I was exhausted from seeing good live performances the night before in the likes of The Disco Biscuits and My Morning Jakcet. Plus Sigur Ros stole the show that night, or what I saw of them at least. When you piss off Bonnaroo, you've accomplished something nearly impossible. We're all so high that nothing gets us mad. But you, Mr. West, succeeded.
- GezusK, on 06/18/2008, -4/+37Sadly, Kanye is likely to say something like that.
- inactive, on 06/18/2008, -5/+38Keep signing your comments, I love how unreasonably angry everyone gets about it.
-ShinRaTDR - xEn1gma, on 06/18/2008, -9/+40Are you kidding me?
If any person/band was two hours late for the show that I had paid for (and considering it was Kanye, I'm assuming that was a decent amount of money), my immediate reaction would be "refund me right now". - brusty, on 06/18/2008, -8/+37Another fevered ego talentless rapper ***** on their fans. I'm stunned.
- Simplogic, on 06/18/2008, -2/+30What they fail to mention in the article is that his original performance was scheduled for 8:15pm. Then on Friday he pushed his set back until 2:45am because he wanted to do a "glow show". Well, at 4:30am he went on and the sun was already coming up. So, no glow show. Lots of delays for absolutely no reason, and a terrible performance to boot... yeah, I'd be pissed too. (EDIT: Oh wait, they do mention that. Read article first. Comment after.)
- BeforeSputnik, on 06/18/2008, -4/+32I do believe you missed the cultural reference (Katrina).
- stonebone4, on 06/18/2008, -2/+29My friend and I didn't really care, we were over in the Other Tent watching Lupe Fiasco and Talib Kweli when Kanye was supposed to come on.
You know, a real artist. Whose stage took 15 minutes to set up. It was incredibly disappointing to see how much his crowd thinned when Kanye was supposed to start.
The best part of all this Kanye crap was hearing reactions from bands and attendees the next day. There were bands starting KANYE SUCKS chants, self-made t-shirts, graffiti all over port-o-johns, etc... - Jacob, on 06/18/2008, -0/+26It wasn't a Kanye West Show it was Bonnaroo A huge multi-day concert, the target audience of which had no interest in Kanye West anyways. The real question isn't why was he late but why was he even invited to play anyways. If you paid 200 dollars for your bonnaroo tickets kanye was the last thing you were trying to see.
- plhearn, on 06/18/2008, -2/+30Kayne is very punctual but he goes by black people time.
