- JoshuaH, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I honestly did not know they had "decent" color video cameras in the 60's.
Love Hendrix, great video. - MasterSharma, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8That was sick.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6AWESOME Thank you! I love you
- Zarathustra19, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9Calebhawk, I hope that perhaps you're trying to exercise some very ironic sarcasm. Live in this usage, means a recording of an artist performing in real time, aka "live", on stage.
- darfvader, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6You made my monday morning at work a lot better. Thank you!!
- Zarathustra19, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Damn, it cut off part of my comment. Anyway, live is a recording of an artist performing in front of an audience, as opposed to a recording in the studio.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodstock_Festival
"The documentary was reportedly edited from 120 miles of footage shot at the three-day concert."
"A documentary film, Woodstock, directed by Michael Wadleigh and edited by Thelma Schoonmaker and Martin Scorsese, was released in 1970. It received the Academy Award for Documentary Feature. The film has been deemed culturally significant by the United States Library of Congress. In 1994, the "director's cut" was released; it included performances by Jefferson Airplane and Janis Joplin, who were not in the original version of the film."
"Jimi Hendrix's E-string broke when he was playing Red House and played the rest of the song with five strings, which was a remarkable feat." - Wiicalum, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I've not watched it yet, but I'm Digging this. It's Hendrix and one of the greatest performances ever, so really I don't need to see it to know its gonna be good.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Whoever watches this and goes back to John Mayer is a total pussy. Effortlessly the greatest.
- Ceeman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3thanks for making me want to quit playing guitar again.
Ok thanks for making my day. - david316, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Cheers for this....listening to the ultimate hendrix will help me pass my exams.
- TheBurt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yes wikipedia is good:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_at_Woodstock_(Jimi_Hendrix)
On there are the songs he played, and they aren't all on this video. Also, this video has them out of order in places. I am glad this video exists and was posted, but it does not do a good job of representing the actual performance. - chunga23, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I'd like to add that Hendrix was so far ahead of his time. I don't even think his time has come yet, he's that awesome.
- JesseJ, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1They were film cameras. you know 'film' like they used to have before digicameras... 8mm and 16mm and so on are still used today because they look good and colours are vivid, unlike cheap videocameras.
- chunga23, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1About 39:30 is his infamous playing the guitar with his teeth. Man that guy ruled. I wish I was alive when he was.
- doom2quake, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1awesome to say the least ..
- gfox, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Naked people ahoy, probably nws. Just sit back and listen!
- riddimsandbeatz, on 09/20/2008, -0/+0Jimi's ability to tap into the true potential of the electric guitar is incredible to listen to
- TheBurt, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Nice post, but this video is pretty bad. Bad camerawork (let's all look at his face), some strange editing (crowd noise from one song put into another), and it only has like half of the songs, some in mixed order. Dugg still.
- chunga23, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0Lame that the person that posted the google video doesn't know how to spell Hendrix.
- Flump5000, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1why is it that hippies, who are always preaching about not polluting and caring for the earth leave more ***** litter around than anyone else?
- calebhawk, on 10/11/2007, -27/+6this isn't live it's from like 38 years ago...
buried as inaccurate

What is Digg?
