His music is deceptively simple, powerfully primal, and absolutely true to rock n' roll as a musical genre. Every element of his music (regardless of which band) is crafted with a combination of tangible intelligence and downright *****-me-hard soul.

With regards to his actual obsession with the number three, though, my guess is that this has more to do with his obsession with Nikola Tesla, whom he has sung about and done a segment in the film "Coffee and Cigarettes" about.
