Yeah anyone who doesn't realize this is an utter idiot. People change. I could easily tell Trent changed by thesound of his music now compared to 1994.
In 1994 he was emo. His songs talked about rape, heartbreak, and sexual urges all done in a crazed out druggy perspective.
Today his songs are a little more general, typically talking about blandness of life and morals. but overall they are happier, probably because Trent himself is happier.....and more mature now. I hear a lot of people complain how is songs are weak now or not the same style. That is just part of the change and it is good he is changing. 1 trick ponies NEVER last in the entertainment business unless they are gameshow host. I preferred his music when he was miserable...as he became happier, I found his music to be less interesting...based on this observation, I would prefer he were miserable so that he produced better music...beyond that, I don't care. It's not that I genuinely wish hardship on him...just that the correlation between suffering and quality music/art is strong...look at Kurt Cobain, Caravaggio or Kafka...all suffered immensely...all produced powerful work up until their death. Choosing to be an artist is not a path of joy...it's a path paved with pain and suffering.
