- khanable, on 07/09/2009, -2/+75i like the part where he totally ***** all over everyones expectations
- soupdawg30, on 07/09/2009, -0/+51Because they think chicken just appears in their supermarket magically.
- nullcodes, on 07/09/2009, -0/+36Why the ***** does the audience laugh at his job?
- benmandude, on 07/09/2009, -6/+41I love Garth but he sung the song better than Garth Brooks.
- Janinco, on 07/09/2009, -2/+30I saw him on the show last week, and so far he is my favorite.
Glad to get to see him again; thanks for posting! - caboose20, on 07/09/2009, -4/+31No. He's the next Susan Boyle.
- boecho, on 07/09/2009, -0/+19This was a beautiful cover. This man has chops and could win. For all those making fun of his former profession, I'm sure you love eating chicken, and someone has to do the dirty work. I know I enjoy a good bucket of KFC, so thank you Kevin for doing the work the rest of us think we are too good to do.
- wassamatta, on 07/09/2009, -0/+18Because that's mainstream America for ya... always judging you on your job, your car, your clothes. I felt bad for him being an unemployed farmer and all. I don't know much about Kentucky but doubt there are many other types of jobs where he's from.
Looks like open plains/farms and not much else in that area:

Mrs. Osbourne was tickled by his accent and I thought her cackle was cute. No biggie there. - wonnk13, on 07/09/2009, -4/+19he's got talent, but i still can't get into country music.
- randyspriggs, on 07/09/2009, -0/+14Goes to show that you don't need to be a stuck up arrogant hipster to have soul.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -3/+15It may just be the cynic in me, but when they gave his background and then mocked him because of his job it really seemed like a setup. The overacting on David Hasselhoffe, (Can I say that?) was the kicker. It was like they were reproducing this from a script (Susan Boyle). Granted, the dude can sing, and play! I just can't stomach reality TV, as most if not all of it is scripted down to the audience reaction.
He's a shill. I'd like to be proven wrong. Give me a background check on him first. Maybe some investigative reporting?
I mean really. A chicken catcher? Like jonnyeuchre said, he looks more like a Meth Head. Soon to be transformed before our eyes into a super cleaned up country western start. $$$$$$$$$$ for the record labels.
I've played some pool and hustled some people, and that my friends was a hustle if I ever saw one. Not even a good one. The guy has talent, and that's the hardest thing to hide. - pacman122, on 07/09/2009, -2/+14Anyone else think Chicken Chaser from fable?
- Giggashrume, on 07/09/2009, -1/+13Aye, people in general are douche-bags. I actually got ticked when they laughed about what he did for a living. I honestly hope this guys wins. He seems like a super nice, and sincere fellow.
- mrmod, on 07/09/2009, -0/+11I've never listened to Garth, but this feels like it must be better.
- BoneStamp, on 07/09/2009, -0/+9Well, then Susan Boyle was the next Paul Potts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k08yxu57NA - bigteebo, on 07/09/2009, -0/+9I saw that. He came on like Cletus from the Simpsons, and ended up singing like a professional. He has win potential.
- TobiasParker, on 07/09/2009, -2/+11You don't get it man, Garth Brooks is country *AND* he's rock and roll.
- guybrush3000, on 07/09/2009, -1/+8I really don't like country at all. but this guy brought something to it that I'm not sure how to define. And it worked.
- Ashinon, on 07/09/2009, -0/+7The man is going to win.
- dman24752, on 07/09/2009, -2/+9I hate Garth and I thought it was pretty good.
- madk, on 07/09/2009, -0/+6I'm no country fan but I'm always one to root for the good ol' normal guy.
- mrmod, on 07/09/2009, -1/+6This is pretty damn awesome, what's with the fear of being serious and admitting it?
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5Man - country could use another Garth - nothing that's out today is cuttin' it (in terms of Country Music)
- bizchris, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5I gotta say, I think The Hoff gets props here. He consistently tries to sees the best in people, give them a chance, and encourage them, even before he knows what they're about - as seen in this video.
- EddyRX10, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5I don't know why you got dugg down, I totally agree. Person comes on, looks the fool and then as soon as they start playing blows everyones mind. Pretty much exact same scenario.
He was amazing though :) - InfinitySnatch, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5"Chicken chaser" is a pretty horrible and derogatory remark to make about an occupation as necessary as that of a farmer.
- TheSeeker11, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5Because hell is other people.
- bwthor, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5She ran the dog over when she was leaving, and took his pickup truck too.
- blueswannabe, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5Personally I think it's because he IS a stereotype, before he plays he's a stereotype down to a tee, so the fact he's such a stereotype kind of makes him humorous.
But ***** when he sings he destroys the stereotype of an uneducated, rough dressed hick in a millisecond! - dsherman73, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5There's Garth Brook, George Straight, and others. So why not a Kevin Skinner. He's got the name, he's got the voice. As long as he does original stuff and not rehash Garth's stuff I will be a fan. I WANT MORE.....
- Enhor, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4I love the look on the face of Hasselhoff when the dude starts singing. I must have been thinking "Holy *****, I just made fun of a guy who is ten times a better singer I'll ever be".
And an also love the guy's face when the audience applauds him and the jury praises him. He look genuinely happy and that's great to see. - AresDiggs, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4But did your wife leave you?
- CptBuck, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4Only American an' stuff.
- frostbyt, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4Hes got the heart, hunger, and talent of a real artist. Its a shame when others get so big they lose sight of that.
- whiteguysamurai, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4He's going to get laid now, so good for him.
- TobiasParker, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4It was a joke by this guy.
They call him Tater Salad. - purzzzell, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4bury, report, find others via profile, bury and report those.
Do your part to keep digg clean. - bornfreeid, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3I really wanted to resist clicking on this. Glad I did. I'm not a huge country music fan, but I can tell you that I like this cover better than the original.
- Fleagleman, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3He's unemployed?
They took ur job!!! - monkeymad2, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Piers Morgan is a *****. Unrelated, but I felt it had to be said.
- jba68, on 07/09/2009, -1/+4he has teef, you wrong.
- MycoLab, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3I wasn't too surprised when he whooped it up, not a lot to do in the country after a long days work but to play some music, and with enough time and practice you get good.
Lot of great unknown country boys who can really play. - Petronious, on 07/09/2009, -0/+34:10 -- Did Hasselhoff pee his pants?
- 7levels, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3If you are unemployed how can you have an occupation?
- MScrip, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3He' a good singer... he definitely has talent.
But Garth Brooks is also a songwriter. Garth Brooks became the first Garth Brooks writing a lot of his own songs.
Kevin Skinner will not become the next Garth Brooks by singing Garth Brooks' songs.
Whew! - freedomischaos, on 07/09/2009, -1/+4You, evidently, have never been out of a city.
- BrendanSheehan, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Don't assume "people in general" watch that show. More people don't.
- Suzilla, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3I think one (GB) was plenty, thanks.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2i can hardly hear
- Bytes_U, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2How can people believe this stuff is real and spontaneous? It all appears so scripted...
