- bornfreeid, on 07/18/2009, -0/+21Considering all the corporate sponsorship of Woodstock which ruined it's revival in the 90's, the new Woodstock cover will showcase the legendary lovebirds in Snuggies instead of the blanket.
- protogenes, on 07/19/2009, -1/+17Lay your cynicism aside for one second. It's a nice story.
- franklymister, on 07/19/2009, -1/+10Not gonna happen, sorry.
Any youth movements get co-opted by Nike, Coca Cola, and the rest of them before they get a chance to turn into anything real.
As long as kids are kept docile with video games, celebrities, internet memes, iPhones and Facebook, there won't be any revolutions or movements. - robbob, on 07/19/2009, -0/+9Awesome they are still together after all these years
- Tweets, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5What's up with that comment at the site by "Jessie?"
- GavinZac, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5'burning money' is philanthropy, not corporate sponsorship.

- franklymister, on 07/19/2009, -0/+1There are a few other great Woodstock photos from the photographer that took that photo at his web site - http://www.burkuzzle.com/
- RatatRatR, on 07/19/2009, -0/+1It's in the *****' thumbnail.
- roboto212, on 07/19/2009, -2/+3the drill is too hot from all the hippies!

. . . and over-priced water. - Paranor01, on 07/19/2009, -0/+1and your point being?
please extrapolate why you think the word 'hippie' is such a negative thing please. - kurtwinter, on 07/19/2009, -0/+12 VC's? As opposed to about 200 sponsors at Woodstock 99? Let's see you put together a concert with any less than 20.
- akchrs, on 07/19/2009, -2/+2hippy...

- jjones20, on 07/19/2009, -2/+2should have used a snuggie or a slanket
- erkokite, on 07/19/2009, -2/+1Why should we emulate the baby boomers?
If anything it would probably be something with a bunch of lame ass trendy emo douches. You probably wouldn't want anything to do with it anyway. - Paranor01, on 07/19/2009, -3/+2and damn proud of it!
your negative connotation to the term "hippie" tells me you are not looking at the whole picture. try looking at it from the other side of the soap box to broaden your horizons and help stop being so negative with understanding. - hollywoodphony, on 07/19/2009, -4/+3Get a job, hippies.
- ninzo09, on 07/19/2009, -2/+1WHAT COMPLETE & UTTER HOGWASH! Emblematic of the media's total lack of adherence to any moral concerns for fact checking or truth in reporting, is this fabrication of who was in that photo.
I was there at the moment it was taken. I know who the photographer and I know who were the two individuals in the famous photo. I even know where the spread (not a blanket but it looked like one) came from. They were definitely not the two lying bastards being used by god knows who for god knows what in this fake propaganda piece. I wonder if those two phonies have actually reconstituted some fake memories and even believe it was them. Can you spell marijuana high and dementia?
Believe me, it was never that couple who were the real people pictured in that famous photograph. Nicci and Bob, you really should shut up. Did someone pay you to fake us out? Shame on you.
The Woodstock Nation is Dead.
Totally co-opted by a society gone mad by greed, corruption and endless baseless lies.
As Lennon/Dylan mighta sorta said: Gimme some truth, cause it sure ain't those guys babe.
/s - loper, on 07/19/2009, -3/+2The lady in the article is not the lady in the photo.
- IAMANOGRE, on 07/19/2009, -3/+1The 1969 version was also corporate sponsored. To the tune of about 2.5 million dollars. Two New York venture capitalists (read - trust fund babies) had money to burn.
Counter culture my ass - inactive, on 07/19/2009, -5/+2It was called the pirate bay, sorry you missed out. What a drag, man.
- jurassiqpark, on 07/19/2009, -4/+1and the years didn't age them peacefully
- sunnybrick, on 07/19/2009, -6/+1Thank goodness they'll be dead soon.
- akchrs, on 07/19/2009, -8/+3hippies....
- 5urr3al5am, on 07/19/2009, -7/+1actually .. in the original picture you couldn't see their faces
- gwizs, on 07/19/2009, -10/+4What "iconic" photo-I've never seen it.
