- Kapit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13....or because George Harrison loved Cirque du Solei and even before he passed away talked about using his/beatles music in a show with them
- Aque0us, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Well, NumberOneMacFan, this IS an Apple [records] article.
- CornMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Saw the Cirque du Soleil show while in Vegas. EXCELLENT SHOW! Watch it if you have the chance. While not mystical like the other Cirque shows, it was much more...fun...and a great time all together.
- jsully, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I listened to the CD this morning all the way through, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it much more than I expected to. Typically I don't enjoy things like this, however Martin's son has left the core of the songs in tact, so that each track is primarily one song, and not some messy jumble of 5 songs in one. Strawberry Fields is particularly awesome - Giles takes the three demo versions that are on the Anthology and starts with the solo acoustic, and then slowly adds tracks and morphs it into the final haunting version. It's nothing short of stellar in my opinion.
- elitexero, on 10/12/2007, -11/+15Q - How did the new Beatles CD ''LOVE'' come together?
A - Greed $$$ - Hattrick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Totally agree. Saw it in September and was really looking forward to the disk coming out. The opening drum sequence was fantastic live. The best part about the music was the remix to bring up the typically flat sounds in the older stuff.
If you have the means, go to Vegas and see this interpretation of the greatest songwriting band ever. - drewpost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I agree. I bought the CD at Virgin Megastore in Piccadilly and came home straightaway and I have been listening to it ever since. It is a VERY well done album
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3when I first heard about this new cd, I thought it was going to be a rerelease of an old Beatles compilation called "Beatles Love Songs" that never made it to CD, but this sounds like it could be interesting... I never seem to get tired of their music, and I have been listening to it my whole life..
- Hattrick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Except that this is the soundtrack of their Vegas show that just opened this year. There is also the fact that some mixes are combinations of more than one song. This is not such a big deal when it is a bunch of samples and rhythm like the rap music you mentioned. When it is all real music by actual musicians, you have to be careful not to combine the wrong things. In this case, it works and it is a fantastic live performance.
BTW, I agree with your statement regarding studios constantly releasing material to earn money for themselves through a dead artist's legacy. - datastorageguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Everyone knows that all you need is love..even to make a CD
- cbrian, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6That sounds a lot to me like an 1D10T error. Repeatedly hitting your computer with a hammer usually helps.
- walrusonion, on 03/04/2009, -0/+1all you need is cash!
- B4mi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's a great CD indeed, although recycled old content, I find it more on the psychedelic side.
"Now, with added LSD!", tense overwhelming mixes like the mix between For The Benefit of Mr Kite and I Want You (She is so Heavy) are amazing indeed.
Too bad my speaker configuration doesn't allow 5.1, but its certainly worth the listen! - polis74, on 02/24/2008, -0/+0Totally agree. Maybe digg really is the site for daily apple loving. It's a bit better than Slashdot being the place for daily Micro$oft hating. - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Blocked.
- c0ldfusi0n, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3The same way Tupac and Notorious BIG release new CDs every month.
