- indiefilm, on 10/11/2008, -0/+151We all get a free Dr. Pepper!
From: New York Post
March 26, 2008 -- TIRED of a world in which Americans idolize wannabe singers, and where musicals about high school students pass as rock 'n' roll, Dr Pepper is begging Axl Rose to finally release this year his 17-years-in-the-making album, "Chinese Democracy." The soft drink company's incentive to Axl, the frontman of Guns N' Roses? If he ships the album in 2008, everyone in America - except estranged guitarists Slash and Buckethead - will receive a free can of Dr Pepper. "It took a little patience for us to perfect Dr Pepper's special mix of 23 ingredients, so we completely understand and empathize with Axl's question for the perfect album," said a company spokesperson. Dr Pepper is asking fans to lobby Axl to drop the album already.

- MommaLu, on 10/11/2008, -1/+59The only problem with a new Gun "N" Roses album is that Axl is the only original member in the band. He made his band mates sign over the band name to him.
- HughesAP, on 10/11/2008, -1/+48This is the second sign, if the cubs win the world series and Duke Nukem Forever comes out then the end of days are nigh
- anderzole, on 10/11/2008, -2/+49I'll believe it when I see it. This has been makign the rounds for over 10 F'N YEARS!!
- Syric, on 10/10/2008, -2/+44Great, now all we need is a movie of Catcher in the Rye and there will be nothing left to wait for in this life.
- fartingbob, on 10/11/2008, -1/+36I honestly believed we'd see Democracy in China before Chinese Democracy.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -1/+33I must confess, I'm not as excited for the album as I am for the promised free Dr. Pepper.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -1/+33Man this is gonna suck.
Chinese Democracy was in theory the perfect album, so perfect it was never to be released. Great going *****! - Aerandir, on 10/11/2008, -3/+35And a week after, Duke Nukem: Forever and a week after Diablo 3, and so on..
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -0/+29The best two musicians to ever have been in the band are the only ones who don't get Dr. Pepper. the irony is delicious.
- jagermeistr, on 10/11/2008, -0/+28I'm going to vote you up and encourage others to do the same just to be annoying.
- benitojuarez, on 10/11/2008, -0/+26stop being a whiney bitch and dont break the rules next time.
- indiefilm, on 10/11/2008, -0/+25Axl is on record saying Buckethead can have his with no hard feelings.
- JakeBC, on 10/11/2008, -0/+21It's like Paul McCartney touring as The Beatles.
- terracottapai, on 10/11/2008, -1/+22I've been saying that forever.
I'm glad this is finally coming out so I can stop explaining to people why they shouldn't give a flying ***** about this.
It's an Axl solo release.
***** Axl. - ATLien74, on 10/11/2008, -2/+22No Slash? No Guns.
- kevman459, on 10/11/2008, -1/+19I'll take the Dr. Pepper over Chinese Democracy any day.
- vsaint, on 10/11/2008, -0/+17Released a hair under 14 years too late.
- Bkaufman, on 10/11/2008, -1/+17You mean the Axl Rose solo project is releasing an album?
- barryiggins, on 10/11/2008, -1/+17no one cares
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -0/+16In China it'll be called "The Peoples Republic"
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -1/+16Spaghetti Incident doesn't count as a GNR release... and neither will this.
Velvet Revolver is more Guns N Roses than Guns N Roses is. - inactive, on 10/11/2008, -1/+16Boy, are you in for a disappointment... lol
- meanman, on 10/11/2008, -1/+15Canada is in America. Last time I looked at a map America goes from the top of Canada to the bottom of Argentina.
- socialfly, on 10/11/2008, -2/+15Not the same - no more Slash
- chungmaster, on 10/11/2008, -0/+12actually izzy was what made the band. He had to write all the songs and do all the work while everyone else was too busy shooting up heroin. After Izzy left things started to go downhill. Not to take away from Slash because he is still an awesome guitarist, but Izzy's the man behind the OG.
- Tyrghast, on 10/11/2008, -1/+13No, it's hilarious that slash and buckethead dont get any.
- slvrbullet87, on 10/11/2008, -0/+11Shaq singing... this album is even more of a joke than i thought
- terracottapai, on 10/11/2008, -0/+10Yeah, remember that wicked keyboard solo on that one GnR song?
Neither does anybody else. - Xkers, on 10/11/2008, -0/+10See that Dre? Now give us Detox already.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -0/+10Diablo 3 will be released, the other two i doubt it...
- m0n0kr0m3, on 10/11/2008, -2/+11That's garbage that Slash and Buckethead don't get any. w/e though
- jf2683, on 10/11/2008, -0/+9Seriously, they talked about this Chinese Democracy for like 10 years, I just downloaded some of the songs, different than the classic Guns N Roses.
- Syric, on 10/11/2008, -1/+9I can't believe I left Duke Nukem Forever off my list.
- patthew, on 10/11/2008, -0/+8I'm still waiting for a wide release of The Day the Clown Cried.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_the_Clown_Cri ... - Clbull, on 10/11/2008, -0/+8Isn't it pretty much the Axl Rose band now, since Slash has left?
- Jeffler, on 10/11/2008, -0/+8More Canada hate :( I WANT A FREE DR PEPPER!
- nickbr00tality, on 10/11/2008, -1/+8NOVEMBER 23! 23 FLAVORS!!! i love dr pepper.
- tconnect80, on 10/11/2008, -0/+7This will not happen. I made a bet last year that the Buffalo Bills would win the Super Bowl before Chinese Democracy comes out and I stand by it
- cathpah, on 10/11/2008, -1/+8wow...what syric said went waaaaaaaaay over your head...didnt it?
- MrShinra, on 10/11/2008, -0/+7I wonder how they will censor this in China? Since the Chinese government
doesn't like people using the word Democracy by itself in most cases anyway. - or3n, on 10/11/2008, -0/+7Actually, the real release date is December 22, 2012.

– Conan O'Brien - lololol1, on 10/11/2008, -2/+8What about Duke Nukem Forever?
- steal_apps01, on 10/11/2008, -0/+6Yeah Indie, the Guns N' Roses name comes from the fact that the band was created out of people from two bands. L.A. Guns and Hollywood Rose. Most people think of GN'R as William 'Axl' Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, and Steven Adler, with, of course, Matt Sorum replacing drummer, Steven Adler because of substance abuse. Dizzy Reed was later brought on to play keyboards in the 'Use Your Illusion' era. Finally, Gilby Clarke replaced Izzy Stradlin after quitting at the height of the 'Use Your Illusion' tour.
Personally, from what I have read of the history of the band, and the books written about GN'R, I have a hard time believing GN'R will ever return to the classic 'Appetite for Destruction' lineup. We have Velvet Revolver with Slash, Duff and Matt Sorum. Loaded is Duff's side project. Izzy, Gilby, and Matt have solo albums. Slash has Slash's Snakepit. Lastly, Axl has 'the new' GN'R with Bumblefoot and a rotating cast, it's all about Axl, as much as I like Axl, what he calls GN'R is more a solo, vanity project then anything else. My point is all the original members of GN'R are not sitting on their hands waiting for a reunion, they're busy with there bands and careers and they are still making amazing music.
I for one will buy the album, even if it sucks, it's part of music history whether we like it or not. - RisingAgainst, on 10/11/2008, -0/+6I'm sorry....but Axl looks so.....ugh.
- punkcat, on 10/11/2008, -1/+7and the year before that...and the year before that...
