- BrahmK, on 10/09/2008, -41/+101Who cares, really?
- diggitydoc, on 10/09/2008, -9/+56this headline would be the ***** in 1996.
next... - powatom, on 10/09/2008, -10/+37Could work out well if they drop the teeny-pop *****.
- Iwantawii, on 10/09/2008, -1/+27I would do Shirley Manson.
- RandomEyes, on 10/09/2008, -12/+33hopefully they start to go a bit less pop. I don't think I truly enjoyed any of their albums since Dookie
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -5/+23Kurt Cobain was not a emo
- H4adF1sh, on 10/09/2008, -34/+51Green Day ***** sucks.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -2/+17Blink 182 broke up a long time ago
- petebot, on 10/09/2008, -2/+17You didn't get out of your grunge phase until 2004? Wow.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+14And sound nothing like Green Day.
- kplo, on 04/01/2009, -9/+23I wonder how much it'll change their sounds. Would be kind of cool to hear them work with Steve Albini, on that note.
- swmbuk, on 03/30/2009, -2/+15Green day got you into politics! I don't know you, but i hate you!
- topgigmedia, on 10/09/2008, -2/+15Dookie was pretty much pop, wasn't it?
- Serphyas, on 10/09/2008, -2/+14Puh-LEASE Modio. Green Day was already well-known when American Idiot was released. There is a difference between becoming famous and pandering to a ***** whiny subculture.
It's a problem when people care about a band's popularity and not the quality of their music. - silverzone, on 10/09/2008, -1/+13anyone who knows what true emo is would be appaled at your comment.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -3/+14your mom
- neilhicks, on 10/09/2008, -6/+16Whoop-te-do.
- EricCiccone, on 10/09/2008, -1/+11You're right he is not emo, he actually killed himself something no emo would ever do.
- Grimulus, on 10/09/2008, -3/+13I've personally been waiting for a new Insomniac album for a long, long time...others were good, but they weren't Insomniac.
I'd love to hear the band sound gritty again. Hard. Fast. Punk. - Jimonthewall, on 10/09/2008, -0/+10I doubt using a Nirvana producer is going to ressurect Nirvana...
- GnralHavoc, on 10/09/2008, -4/+14He was grunge. Whoever said he was should be shot.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -1/+10too soon pete, too soon...
- raz98, on 10/09/2008, -2/+11I wish they release something in the sound of Dookie...
- petebot, on 10/09/2008, -3/+12In the face? With a shotgun?
- phrenzy, on 10/09/2008, -1/+9What is with all of the douchebags overusing the word "emo"? What the ***** does that even mean? Was Nirvana "emo"? I mean they sung about unhappiness, frustration and wore eyeliner occasionally. Do you have to be some meathead caveman guitar basher with lyrics consisting of nothing but fights and explosions to NOT be emo? What is shocking is that some people compare pop-manufactured crap like "MCR" to the classic music and literary lyrics of The Smiths. I guess we should only listen to bands who make "finger horns" while sticking their tongues out and trying to look scary.
- Modio, on 10/09/2008, -2/+10Vig did great work with Against Me! on New Wave. Hopefully we'll see a similar presence for Green Day's album.
- m0zzie, on 10/09/2008, -2/+10correct, he was not "a" emo. he was an hero.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+8I cried when nimrod came out.
Dugg for 1,039/smoothed out slappy hours! - Acura666, on 10/09/2008, -3/+10No one's forcing you to listen to it, SO QUIT ***** BITCHING!
- silverzone, on 10/09/2008, -2/+9Wrong. New Green Day isn't punk.
- GnralHavoc, on 10/09/2008, -4/+11HOW DARE YOU!!! Nirvana was grunge! They were perfect!
- kidjay, on 10/09/2008, -0/+7even if she was a t-1000?
yes. the answer is yes. - inactive, on 10/09/2008, -10/+16A ***** sandwich is still made of *****.
- screwattackthis, on 10/09/2008, -0/+6If you want to be pretentious, any song written with more than just sex and drugs in mind is "emo." There's a difference between a musician writing what they feel, and the fodder "emo" bands throw together to make pre-teen girls wet their pants. As much as I dislike American Idiot, it's in no way emo.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -1/+7Weezer is neither pop nor punk. I laugh when kids these days, start labeling music from my time something else. That would be like me calling Pink Floyd Trip-Hop.
- scatteredbomb, on 10/09/2008, -0/+6Oo look at you being tough. I have no problems with Punknews, the editors are good guys and i visit the place daily.
- Izzio, on 10/09/2008, -3/+8This is good news to me! Maybe they're sellouts, maybe they're overplayed on the radio, but god damn it, sometimes I just feel like a good pop punk song and I always break out the Weezer and Green Day. Seems most Digg users just prefer the former :/
- swmbuk, on 03/30/2009, -0/+5wow hitler was an emo!!!! ***** man i never knew!
idiot... - dregin, on 10/09/2008, -1/+6"emo" started with emotional hardcore in the late 80s. It was a pretty decent genre that the mainstream wank has latched onto and ***** in the ass... in the bad way.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/09/2008, -2/+7What band DOESN'T have a song about isolation? If you're defining a band 'emo' by one songs lyrics (be it about a girl, getting over addiction, walking alone, or needing to be loved), then sorry dude, EVERY band is emo.
You're an idiot. - inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4Because they're starting to become adult contemporary rock
- shutaro, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4Ooh-la-dee-dah!
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4What the ***** is a pseudo punk, your either are or not. These labels you guys come up are retarded. Maybe Green Days next album will make them Classic Pseudo-Industrial Techno-Pop-Trip Country Punk.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana are the only good ones. Though I must admit I don't know any of the bands listed for the 80's.
- smirkypants, on 10/09/2008, -4/+8Then don't read it?
- powatom, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4A rare sighting! The esteemed chinolofus demonstrating the 'fail' dance!
- silverzone, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4A folk punk Green Day album. That'd be wierd.
- acroyear2, on 10/09/2008, -1/+5NIRVANA FTW.
Green Day.... egh ugh.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmQfwJslpKw - shimmi147, on 10/09/2008, -7/+10... so?
- petebot, on 10/09/2008, -1/+4Wow. Way to not even read the title.
