- nutcase, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wake up folks. The only music store worth a damn penny of my cash is allofmp3.com, not other can compete, a whole album for $1.50 and excellent service, up to the minute selection, any un-digital right managed format you like.

That is, unless you want to call all internal-combustion automakers since Etienne Lenoir "copiers," or authors, filmmakers, anyone who does something someone else has already done. This is the nature of things - if you can improve upon an existing "thing" go right ahead. The market will choose the winner. Now, if they were going to create a proprietary audio format, say, GAC, that you could download from gTunes and play on your gPod, then it's a little valid, but to start levelling charges against a RUMORED future service...

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't think creating a music store is considered copying, it's just providing variety. Variety is good! Imagine going to buy a 4x4 SUV and only have one choice. Google has really done nothing except copy, for the most part! They weren't the first search engine, weren't the first news group search nor the first shopping search, however, they are now the best at all of those things (IMHO). So, I see Google creating a music store as being an attempt to improve on the current best. How can you not want that?!!

It's amazing how people are influenced by brands, even before they release the new product. If Google is going to sustain it's current valuation and stock price, it's going to have to become the next Microsoft. It's only a matter of time before they become "evil".
