- rambovsthailand, on 08/11/2008, -3/+141Not exactly something I would expect to see on Digg, but this band is just so awesome.
Repeater is one of rocks most underrated records. - bcomeaux, on 08/11/2008, -1/+112I'll be damned. Fugazi made it to the front page. Great song.
- freebase, on 08/10/2008, -0/+108Fugazi is one of the originals in the anti-big-music-conglomerate movement. They played a lot of terrible venues because they demanded the venue charge a *reasonable* admission price.
At their most popular, I saw them for $6. f'ing killer show. - NixonLives, on 08/11/2008, -1/+86I can't believe this made the front page. ***** awesome.
- Paal, on 08/11/2008, -2/+67what a damn good song... i'm extremely confused as to how it made it to the front page... but what a DAMN good song!
- inactive, on 08/10/2008, -2/+61It doesn't get more "real" than this.
- Hiddendonut, on 08/11/2008, -1/+46Fugazi is one of the greatest bands ever. Waiting Room is one of my favorite songs from them. Dugg.
- pistonhonda, on 08/11/2008, -1/+45I can't believe a Fugazi video made it to Digg's front page. Weird.
- blacklilyninja, on 08/11/2008, -2/+40FUGAZI was/is/always will be ***** AMAZING
i went to one of their shows around that time... yes i'm old - inactive, on 08/11/2008, -0/+37"Not exactly something I would expect to see on Digg"
- That's why you got to love that it's on here. - nemojonze, on 08/11/2008, -1/+37http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOf6w59jz_g
had to post minor threat FTW - electricwaffles, on 08/11/2008, -0/+29badass.
- chicophi235, on 08/11/2008, -2/+26Fugazi was "anti-establishment" for the sake of doing business/living in a more moral, progressive fashion, not just to be a part of the "anti-establishment establishment." It had a purpose. That's really missing from today's punk.
- Rizoh, on 08/10/2008, -2/+25They were reeaaally into it.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -2/+25These ***** were HARD. CORE.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -1/+21They don't make them like that anymore. Awesome vid.
- kingjafee, on 08/11/2008, -1/+21***** the Music Industry!!!!
Fugazi lives within us ALL!!!
and youtube.... - valentine76, on 08/11/2008, -1/+20Surprised to see this on Digg! Wow. Most inspirational band that have impacted my life at a musician and a punker. Seen them 5 times and each time was ***** incredible! Good luck screaming "Waiting Room" at them these days and expect them to play it, they'll just tell you to ***** off and play another song instead. everytime haha. Thanks for the post really made me feel better on a down day!
- trainer, on 08/11/2008, -0/+19Great to see Fufgazi on the front page!
Fugazi did a heap of all-ages shows which was cool for the younger kids and sold their CDs at cheaper prices so their target audience could actually afford them. Due to the lower price they put on their CDs, I hardly ever saw a copy - people BOUGHT them, everyone was happy.
In addition to this, they were also one of the best bands to see live (I saw them play with Shellac).
Lots of great memories! Thanks Fugazi! - tynansanger, on 08/11/2008, -1/+19This video's been around for a while, but it never gets old.

- MustacheFace, on 08/11/2008, -1/+18Fugazi and everything Dischord changed DC rock forever. Faraquet!
- partyoverhaul, on 08/11/2008, -1/+18last thing i expected on digg, but awesome nonetheless
- presidentjapan, on 08/11/2008, -0/+16I'm now a fan. :)
- dugR, on 08/11/2008, -1/+16I am a huge minor threat fan, and Fugazi is pretty damn sick also. Old Hardcore punk is the best. I did a double take when i saw fugazi on digg. By the way there are still punk shows around that are like this, its not completely dead.
- JaybeasCorpus, on 08/11/2008, -0/+15Anyone know where in DC this show was?
- SRSco, on 08/11/2008, -1/+15Fugazi is far from being unknown.
- JasonHaley, on 08/11/2008, -0/+14Fugazi fans are patient boys. They wait, they wait, they wait...then digg.
- Nerolus, on 08/11/2008, -0/+13WTF FRONTPAGE?!
I love you, Digg. You do have a good side....
*tears up with happiness* - jaybol, on 08/11/2008, -1/+14wow i am so pumped that so many people on digg love fugazi. i just posted a comment on an article at avclub.com about their reference of fugazi's instrumentals and then clicked to digg to see this. nice!
- Panopticism, on 08/11/2008, -1/+13Hey Neiby, nice to see "3 highly effective tips to handle criticism", "7 Ways to Overcome the Fear of Failure" and "Squash Self-Doubt, Find Your Confidence" under your favorites.
Big self esteem problem we have there don't we? - strombollii, on 08/11/2008, -1/+12You know, that's completely ignorant. They flipped because people weren't supporting the scene. Dischord/MacKaye/most hardcore acts rely completely on merch sales: and if I remember correctly, Dischord was instrumental in the fight against record conglomerates. Fugazi/Mackaye was just pissed off that bands were eating ***** because fans were too damn cheap to support their scenes.
- TonyBalls, on 08/11/2008, -0/+10Yea I love surprises like this on Digg...
We gotta mix things up on here now and then. - hoghug, on 08/11/2008, -0/+10Now all I need to see is a Big Black video hit the front page and my faith in mankind will return...
- hoghug, on 08/11/2008, -0/+10There's no way he's going to be affected by your rebuttal with that sort of knowledge under his belt.
- Tehzz, on 08/11/2008, -1/+10Not even Jorge is as hardcore as these guys.
- GREEDOnvrFIRED, on 08/11/2008, -4/+13Well it gets a little more real than that.
http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=zabmdrA_eYI - metaliq, on 08/11/2008, -3/+11Strange seeing this on the front page...
But Fugazi is incredible.
If anyone is ever looking for some more Ian MacKaye, but is willing to settle for acoustic stuff, check out The Evens. Good stuff. - ShrikeBite, on 08/11/2008, -3/+11... and even a little more real than that.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLD9Iej5nRc&feature ... - iskatebad914, on 08/11/2008, -0/+8man... DC used to have such a better and more healthy music scene. noone goes to punk shows anymore because all the venues had to close because of gentrification.
- raeshao, on 08/11/2008, -3/+10I guess the scalper got that extra dollar. :)
- floyd1911, on 08/11/2008, -0/+7Sorry to be a dick, but technically Ian's first band was The Teen Idles, not Minor Threat.
- myshoeshurt, on 08/11/2008, -0/+7Dugg for people digging ***** FUGAZI!
- bitterbug, on 08/11/2008, -1/+8I was pretty amazed to see it hit the front page. What's awesome is how quickly the digg count has started rising. Go Fugazi!
- mayerf1, on 08/11/2008, -1/+7It still gives me chills of joy all these years later
- wamitch, on 08/11/2008, -0/+6R.I.P. Wilson Center
- skip694, on 08/11/2008, -1/+7This is it kids, without this band there would no 'panic at the disco' or whatnot. Hell even Nirvana would've sounded different.
Just shows how false music has become post MTV. These guys have been on hiatus far too long. - cadmiumpaint, on 08/11/2008, -0/+6dugg for Fugazi......but how incredibly random is this for the front page? did something happen to put them in the news?
- raeshao, on 08/11/2008, -0/+6Way to be clueless, Nelby.
- hoghug, on 08/11/2008, -0/+6I saw em for 5 bucks back in... '89(?!)
Didn't know anything by them at the time, but it was still a fun show. -
